When have you seen a civil trial on TV besides Judge Judy ? Anyways...Those are only murder trials and even that is defined by state law. Some states do it some don't . California is one of few states that allows cameras in the court room which is why we see the OJ trial and Johnny Depp trial on TV. New York on the other hand does not allow this . Even with high profile trials they allow less media in the court which is why John Gotti case you only got sketches of the trial
