True.. I was born in '55, and by the time I was a teenager a guy could got a job that would pay for a house and 2 cars. You could get married and raise a family from that job. You could even have a wedding for your daughter.

Any endorsement is nice, but not necessarily necessary. So I wouldn't advise to do much about RFK Jr if Kamala was asked me... Which she isn't and won't. If I was Kamala, I would look more for the endorsement of a Mitt Romney or Chris Christie. She could use the votes of some Republicans who have enough. I would also look for the endorsement of someone like Mr T. Why? He's a good artist with a certain audience, and a rare one that is well perceived by machos and still can go "I love my mom" and pass as not crazy, but a bit of an odd ball. That could counterweight Hulk Hogan... For what it's worth. However, Kamala had a lot of endorsement already. So that's not a big worry.

Welcome!!! I'm in NC. My county is red but the one right next to me is very blue. NC is beautiful though. We have the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and awesome beaches. I've been here as long as I remember, although not born here. I think NC was more red in the past, but has turned purple over time. We need some more kind, like minded people! I don't even mind most true Republicans as I know we all aren't going to agree with all the same things, but these MAGAS are just ridiculous. Before Trump, I don't remember it being this bad as far as division and hate. I'm sure there was some not so nice things said, but now it's just out of hand and we're all on such opposite ends. The issue is that she MUST also have Democrats in both the House and Senate to get what she wants done. So the Purple Wave has to go down the Blue side of the ticket because voting for people that will continue to block legislation that Trump doesn't like, you can't move forward. As someone that lives in Asheville, NC. I can confidently say these people came from the surrounding counties, they do not represent Asheville. We are one of the few blue havens in this state. It is truly sad that we have people with such depraved opinions voting in our elections. Our civics classes in high school have failed us. If someone confidently says that they think our founding fathers wanted “Christian Values” to be our primary guide in both law making and running our government. They have clearly never read The Federalist Papers or the Constitution for that matter.

It's funny he chose ASHEVILLE, NC...in case no one knows, Asheville is a very BLUE, liberal city. I highly doubt many actual Asheville locals went to this. I don't live far....so Trump was WAY too close. 😂 But the venue only seats about 2500 total. I'm waiting to see how "big" he will say his crowd size will be in Asheville. We have very few blue areas in NC, but Asheville is a cool mountain town here in the Blue Ridge mountains...but they're the blue dot in a sea of red surrounding areas. These MAGA people were probably hating life while waiting outside to get in the venue. My daughter is a Canadian veterinarian who went to Asheville to volunteer in the high volume spay/neuter clinic that you guys have . She LOVED Asheville but she said she could tell who were Trump voters up in the hills (?). She said the city was AWESOME!
@Tulipfarmer you need to visit...at least once!! It's crowded and pricey...but always a great time! They love the arts so you'll see beautiful murals and music everywhere. They even have a whole area dedicated to the arts called The River Arts District. (RAD) GREAT places to eat and cool shops. It's truly one of a kind...especially in NC, anyways.

My mom had a stroke a little over three years ago. I am here sole care giver for 95 percent of the time. Since her stroke, her cognitive abilities have declined dramatically. A lot of the things Trump does reminds me of some of the things she does. The way he walks, the way he talks (mixing up people, the lisp, repeating himself over and over, etc) and the deer in the headlights look he gets when asked a question he should know the answer to. They aren't exactly the same, and I'm not a doctor by any means, but there are similarities.

They got away with not raising wages for so long when woman went to work. It seemed like families were doing better because of two incomes not because you were getting paid fairly at work. The rude awakening was when you had a divorce, separation or a death of a spouse and realized there was no way you could make it on the one salary.

However, I think this is a good time to remind your listeners to refer to Kamala Harris by her last name. Calling her Kamala right now shows her less respect than men. I honestly believe it’s a good idea to use the first name when the other side purposefully says it incorrectly, as a way of fighting misinformation from spreading, but I also understand the other side of it and why it may seem less respectful. All about different viewpoints, I guess.
the National Restaurant Association plays a HUGE role in lobbying to keep the tipped worker minimum wage stagnant. They were founded initially to keep service workers of color down, and have since diversified into keeping ALL service workers down. I've been working in restaurants and bars full time for over 10 years, a change to the wage laws would be way more beneficial than a tax break.
