There's been quite a few comments regarding my choice of speed. I recorded this for my Interactive trumpet tutor cd-rom called You Me and a Trumpet. I wanted something that would have impact, a short piece with a real "wow" factor to show what is possible on the trumpet if you do it the right way. I wanted to record something that would inspire players to push themselves and try to play it better than me. I can play it faster, I can play it more musically but this choice was right for my Cd-rom.
I am blown away by the speed and clarity of your tonguing in this piece. I play a little trumpet - not much, but enough to know that this is not nearly as effortless as you make it seem! I played this piece on my flute recital last year and it is a deceptively difficult piece to begin with. Well done and inspiring!
I watched this video several times, and I watch it from time to time. I haven't found, seen and heard better trumpet playing than it yet... :]] Fantastic!
Really like the musical ideas you where projecting. Between the soft and loud to the short and long of the notes. For the intonation, honestly, that is the only way I can tell if it is a real horn player or not. Even the best trumpeters in the world will not and can not be dead on in all notes all the time. Wonderful rendition.
dude you rule. i just picked up a trumpet today and one day i hope to be as good as this. proper skill. don't let any silly comments put a dim light on your wicked talent :D
I used to play this on my saxophone [with nowhere as much talent as this! n_n] and I just began picking up on trumpet and I can't imagine playing this!!! Awesome job
Omg... so inspirational for me to learn!! =D I my self play the trumpet, and i have played it for 3 years and half now and im the lead trumpet in my jazz and senior concert band, and i must say, VERYYY INSPIRATIONAL AND VERY CLEAN SOUNDING, amazing...
@TheNavarro1212 yes it is, it has rotary valves. all trumpets were like that until about 1900. Its really rare to see them now because theyre all so old
Thanks for your advice. This video is from my new interactive multimedia trumpet method You Me and a Trumpet available through Denis Wick Products, London. It is a method on basic technique and also has video performances on cornet and flugel.
