People talking about finger placement reminds me of people who criticized Dizzy for his embouchure. I get it, but if he made it to college with that style, I'm sure hes adjusted in a way that doesn't bend the valves or inhibit his ability to play runs. Styles ain't always pretty, but what comes out of the horn matters. Is this the same dude who, played for O.P. Walker? If so, I can tell you for sure that he is an excellent musician.

An associate and I were having a similar discussion the other day. I brought to his attention how in baseball they teach you to hold a bat a certain way. But if you pay attention to some of the greatest homerun hitters their batting styles are completely unorthodox. Nevertheless, in this musician's case, it is the same concept. Apparently their is no right or wrong way to hold a horn when achieving perfection.

I enjoyed the sound stage from that go pro's camara. I could really hear all the notes from different instruments, something you don't always get from the frontal view stance. More of these please, especially from them Bones......

Im not a hater aunt viv. I played trumpet and was taught a certain way and i couldn't dare hold or play my keys the way he does. Its just a habit for me. But hell i wasnt complaining it just looked awkward cuzz thats my horn.....🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Trumpet section hasn’t had a TRUE killa since ‘14. Southern was always known for having a true killa. These kids slaking these days. Overall nice sound from the section tho 👍

TheJittNextDoor Nah son... I’m old school. When I say “true killer” I mean grand shit. Super Ds and Cs will suffice. This section ain’t got that. That’s what SU tpet section has always had since the 80s. Do your research before commenting. Sadly you had 4 folk to like your comment and will surely have many more. They are illiterate to the facts as well.

Dayvon Savage bruh thank god somebody finally admitted this. Glendon was the last (true) screaming demon. From then on the trumpet numbers have increased but they’re super weak. No grands at all. And the mellos have just fallen off a cliff smh...sad to say 11’ was the last true beast for that section. (Ie: we don’t speed) SU gotta get it together str8 up. Can’t live off legacy alone.

Blues Bros Man now I thought I was the only one to say that about the mellos. Them boys were straight ass this year I’m sorry. Hell if Yoshi had not came back for a 5th rip they would’ve really been sad. Yeah they have a nice overall sound but not the “S” I’ve grown accustomed too.
