I'd never heard about this until your videos. This is such a neat concept. Almost like applying for a job. Lol. Have you ever run into any weird situations?
Well I guess the most weird situation was when I went back to watch someone's dogs for a second time and a door had a big hole in it. And I got a weird explanation behind it. But other than that, nothing. More so like pets having their own personalities and shenanigans lol.
Oh, wow! This is a great resource to have. For pet sitters I had only heard about and a long time ago did Wag! This is a good way to make side money, bring your laptop and do work while there. I'm curious if you have any crazy stories about this? I can imagine you might find some strange things in other people's homes.
The key with this is that you use this for an exchange to stay somewhere else in the world for free (so no hotel fees) and you do not get paid. This is a great resource for those who travel. So a home/pet owner doesn't have to pay extensive amounts of money to have a pet/home watched and a sitter doesn't have to pay extensive amounts of money to stay somewhere they plan to visit. And yes, I do have some stories which I will share in my video I'm releasing tomorrow!
@@KitatheExplorer oh wow I didn’t think of that so it’s like a free au pair. But do you get a chance to still go out or is there a timeframe you have to stay in the house for every day?
There isn't a way to specifically call out where you will be visiting. The only things I would suggest is to: 1) Definitely mention this in your application to the home owner 2) Update your dates of availability 3) Update your preferences on your profile to make sure that region is listed 4) Or listed in your profile details or about you section. But I would be cautious of this as you will need to remember to update this whenever you change locations. Happy House Sitting!
Yeah I used a “template” from another content creator to create my profile and someone responded back to me and asked if someone else wrote my profile. 😂 I deleted the whole template immediately.
I don't believe there is a way for a home/pet owner to go into the platform to request a background check. But it is something you can mention via messages to a candidate.
