I am surprised that a preacher of his stature could be so confused on such an elementary doctrine. The Apostle Paul said "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." II Corinthians 5:8 The Apostle Paul also use this same doctrine to comfort those that have lost love ones.
