TRX4M & FMS K5, What one is better. Real challenge. Is there a difference?

Hey guys, we took the TRX4M bronco and the FMSK5 blazer out on the rocks today. I wanted to see which one out of the box handled better. It’s really hard to decide. Let me know what you think.

I bought an SCX24 lexan body for my K5. I just found a way to mount the body mount brackets on and its all good. Its a dark, leva red metallic paint (plastidip). I added Meause brass rims, Injora brass links and gonna add the double barrel injora shocks, later tonight. Im excited as hell to get into these mini crawlers (my first crawler. Wanted a mini for versatility, and winter is coming, so perfect for indoors)

Great video, thanks for the comparison. I pay for my FMS trucks too and I feel that I'm getting my money's worth. The K5, K10, Toyota FJ and so on are officially licensed that accounts for the detail. New tires,, oil in the shocks and reverse the screws that the steering rods hit and it is like a new truck. I love mine and all my FMS toys. Thanks again, enjoy.

Great testing, once you get a oil in those shocks you notice a big difference right away, I also just got done putting on just the front from RCAWD brass portal kit come with everything front and back and wow is it performing great. Appreciate your sharing I’ll be watching for more until next time peace and chicken grease 😁👍👍😎

I've owned two of their 1/18 models and three FCX24s. The 1/18 are more for show then go, both strip trans gears or burn out their motors easily. I don't drive them anymore. My first FCX24 has up well, I changed most of it but it's still on the stock electronics and axles with no issues. My Smasher has some issues with the high speed motor but works well besides that. I also have a Blazer and its holding up well so far, I added some heavy portal weights and changed the wheels and its a nice improvement. Btw nice video I subbed to the channel.

Good video , I appreciate the guys who pay for these rigs , no matter the brand. It’s tough give a fair review when you’re getting rigs shipped to your house for free . FMS is making some cool stuff, add some weight to the K5, oil filled shocks and it’s way better. That said I’ve been loving my trx4m bronco. Competition is always a good thing , pushes companies to get better, keep up the great work

Hey Ryan, thank you for the comment. I agree we have to have a lot of people making products so we get the best. I am very surprised an axial has not tried to make 1/18 scale. What oil filled shocks using on your K5

@@goreyboggs I don’t have the K5 , just saying as with any crawler , you have to add weight and decent shocks to make them more capable. I have a feeling traxxas might come out with a F150 or K10 mini soon, but who knows. Axial is probably working on something behind the scenes , they are the crawler company after all !

Out of two trucks, Fms sent me a broken truck and did nothing to right the problem. Hard to buy another after that. Traxxas sent me a faulty light kit once. They replaced it immediately. I agree some of the fms stuff looks great. But lack in performance. Enjoyed the video.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it! I’m finding the same thing out with FMS. I got there Jimmy and it’s lacking in a lot of areas. Not being able to change the motor out is really a bummer. It almost seems like a toy. You would buy at Walmart.🤷‍♂️

The FMS K5 comes with everything to make to shocks oil filled, at least it did on mine, so I installed that, also added weight (and removed the foam) in the tires to counter the heavy body and all is good. I do not own the TRX4M but I do have the EAZY RC Patriot and compared to that it rulez. I think mostly due to the 2 speed, better stock tires and the portal axles. You mentioned it looks good... yes it does. I hated those first scratches too :)

Lol i payed for mine too hehe hopefully fms will be nice enough to send some free samples soon lol nice run btw and yes recommend turning those friction shocks into oil makes a hell of a difference my man indeed its an eazy process to it took me no more than 20 min to do all 4 of em i put these two rigs to the test too mines a defender i dont have the bronco and my fms blazer is the brown and yellow one and i love it i tested em in all conditions mud sand water and rocks the blazer won by a point or two because it just destroyed the sand were the trx4m defender failed epicly other than that they both passed all the other tests i did to em i did add some weight to the front tires to keep it from flopping over and with the oil shocks its just a completely different animal indeed add weight to the back to avoid it from flipping forward on those steep decents 👍

@@goreyboggs indeed but they have certainly uped their rc crawler game up to another level the trx4m should of been what the fms k5 is now with the two speed and portal axles from the beginning just like their big ones but they probably cost an arm and a leg in that case lol u know traxxas always overpricing and hyping their stuff but ill give em props for pricing the trx4m affordable and well lots of support as for fms they have great customer support but their are so far from home that their parts take a quite some time to get here from china im currently waiting on a replacement motor i burt mine out recently on a video i filmed out in the beach its about a 15 day wait i also ordered a complete unpainted k5 blazer body that im gonna customize for future content

@@NWrcadventures Awesome, Can’t wait to see it. FMS has done some really cool things and most of the time if you’re OK waiting you can end up getting about 60% off once everyone is done buying them. I picked up the Jimny for $99. I still have not even opened it.😂

I've found that FMS models look better than they perform. As for Axial, the baby Capra is a capable crawler.
