I’m twelve years old. To the people at school, I’m the smart one. I have a weird laugh. I’m quiet. I don’t really fit in anywhere. The people at school..they don’t see underneath. Hearing that there are so many people that can relate to my story and are going through the same thing is very reassuring, and I smile every time I see a new reply. In case anyone was curious, here's an update: I'm thirteen now, and I'll be fourteen soon. I've been diagnosed with depression and I see a therapist regularly. I have gotten "worse" since this original post, but I'm happy to say that, in a lot of other ways, I've gotten better. I have great friends, a loving family, and as of last month, a parakeet!! (whom I love very much). I want anyone reading this to know that IT DOES GET BETTER. I haven't gotten there completely yet, but every day I try my best to improve. Even if it seems like it'll be this way forever, it won't, I promise. And to anyone struggling with self-love specifically: I'll bet you are beautiful, inside and out. That pimple on your nose isn't actually that big. Your hair looked cute today, even though you thought it was messy. Maybe you weren't as kind as you could've been today, but that's okay. I cried so much... Today I was with my mom in the car and I noticed I have a bit of baby phat under my chin. I looked at my mom and said " mom I have a double chin. What do I do?" And my mom said " you're seeing things. You're fucking beautiful baby and I love you". I started crying because I'm a bit on the heavier side for my age, 13 and 102 pounds, and then this song came on. It was perfect because it made me feel better. I suffer from mild depression, for my bad and awkward looks, body maturity, and my size. Weighing at 124 Lbs and thick thighs for a 13 year old I felt like that was way way too over weight so I stopped eating for about two weeks only nibbling on very little which resulted in worrying my mom and sisters. I always feel like I'm pushing everyone away and making them worry. argh this is my favourite song yet it still reminds me of my stupid so-called 'friend' that i really hate at the moment. lets call her sarah. sarah is a 13 year old girl. she's very self-conscience of her body weight. every time we do PE she gets her mum to write an excuse in her notebook to show the teacher so she can get out of it. ever since she started skipping PE every lesson she'd began to put on weight as she never did any exercise. but she still kept on getting out of PE because she didn't want people to judge her for her bod weight when we were doing swimming or running. she thought that if she attended a PE lesson people would laugh at how 'fat' she was. yet the only thing missing PE was doing was making her put on the weight that she desperately wants to magically disappear without putting any work towards losing. tbh, this is fine. she was 'comfortably uncomfortable' with her body weight. but this isn't what i hate about her. what i hate is just how much she BRAGS about it! every day the conversation is taken over by her saying something along the lines of 'uh, i gained 2 pounds yesterday, and only had 3 mcdonald happy meals for lunch instead of 5! UH' or 'uh, im sooo fat. do you think i look fat? you know what, don't answer. i'm going to KFC' WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!? its the same with her makeup. she never wears it. i think in my mind 'GOOD FOR HER, SHE'S COMFORTABLE WITH HER FACE!' but no, how wrong i was. i mean, if you're going to not wear makeup, please don't then say things like 'UH, my face is so ugly. its so spotty and gross, because i have 2 tiny spots on my cheek!' or 'OMG look at my eyebrows! they're so misshapen and haven't been plucked in YEARS! anyway, ill see you later! im going to go complain about this to someone else instead of dealing with the problem' there's people in this world that change themselves because they're self-conscious about their appearance in some way-whether that's losing weight thinking that it's important to get people to like you, doing makeup in a way that they personally HATE, yet they think that they can hide behind even though it's not what they would usually wear etc. there is also people who wear a little makeup, do their hair up every once in a while, don't care about their weight etc. they have accepted themselves. they do these things because its FUN. because they're enjoying their lives in a way that many can't because they're so worried about what people think of them. and THEN...there's girls like Sarah. people who wear NO MAKEUP, people who dont care about their BODY WEIGHT, who don't do anything with their HAIR...but then go around complaining even though they're perfectly capable of losing weight if it bothered them that much. they could EASILY pluck their eyebrows instead of complaining about it. their the people in life that get to a problem, complain about it and never resolve it. theres the people who are afraid of trying, so they shy away from it, people who don't care whether it goes wrong but they'll give it their best shot... and then people who moan and whinge and want the world to evolve around them and never have to to anything to get what they want. just have it be done for them. this is why i HATE sarah. she always complains about these things, yet she has never attempted at TRYING to fix them. if your going to not wear makeup, please dont then go complaining about your face. if your going to gain weight, please don't go complaining about how fat you are. you get the idea.

This world right now is full of people who judge others so very badly and it pushes them to a certain point that they have to change themselves in order to be liked. The thing is, why waste your time trying to change yourself when you can be looking for a person that likes you for you. Finding someone that will like you for you is a rare chance now a days but it is going to worth finding those people. Just be yourself.

It's not fare when people are bullied i know cuz i was bullied sometimes i still am And it's hard people are so mean they don't even know you and talk about you i always put my self down but this song made me think i don't have to take 2:00 hours to put makeup on no one should and im not none of us should we are the way God wanted us to be made and we should except that we should love our selves the way we are and be yourself always because everyone else is taken never change yourself for no one.

I try so hard to fit in. I know I was ugly when I was younger. I know I still am now but I still tried everything. I waxed my eyebrows, got a different haircut, stopped eating, tried to dress like the other girls. but still, it didn't feel right. if someone tells me I'm beautiful, I just don't believe it, I don't see it. all my life I've been made fun of because of how I looked. yes I had a unibrow, but I got it waxed. People made fun of my Filipino nose bc it was flat. it's just who I am. but I can't accept who I am because people just me all the time, and I just try , and try and try to fit in. I'm 14, just finished freshman year of high school and all I can say is society judges you anyway so might as well do what you want.

I make it my everyday job to make sure my friends smile and laugh. And it works. I don't need money or a compliment as a reward. Hearing there laughter and seeing them smile is a reward enough. I tell each and everyone of them they are beautiful, but I don't see myself being beautiful though. I don't know if this is a bad thing or not, I just want my friends to know they are perfect the way they are.
