I can relate to this sooo much!! 🤣😂🤣 I spent almost 3 years thinking my now boyfriend didn't like me very much but was just annoyingly polite. He is British and I am Spanish from Peruvian parents so us going to lunch almost once a week (we worked in buildings close to each other) and he barely talking and just kinda nodding "hi" and "bye" was a "I am just hanging out with you because we did it once and I feel bad not doing it every week now". 😅😅😅 He confessed a couple of years ago it was because my accent was quite thick (I just had arrived in London) and he didn't understand what I was saying loads of times. 😂🤣😂 We are going to make 6 years together in February. And my spoken English has improved a lot, though there are some things my larynx was not made to pronounce properly, like "sheet", "chips", "sheep", "ship", "wood" or "wollen". 😝
