I'm a pet owner. Slip covers are a thing. Pet throws up on couch? Remove and wash (there are waterproof underlays that don't sound like plastic). Pet poop on couch? Remove and wash. Excess hair? Remove and wash. Seriously. It isn't that hard and you can change the color and type in a whim. You can even have multiple types. It also will make your furniture last longer. I have it on my computer chair because sometimes I make a mess with food on my chair. Life happens - slip covers.

In regards to pet being on the couch duct tape is cheap and can easily be used to remove said fur from the couch just wrap around your hand and use it like a lint roller couches and clothing can be cleaned if your dog decides to get up on the couch or love up on you feel lucky cuz that means your dog trust you your dog feels comfortable enough and feels like home and feels that you are pack if you don't like having fur on your clothing and how everything else I'm going to agree with Nikki You don't need pets
