The Last video was so emotional I felt my heart breaking after seeing how cruel people can be but even so there's are some people who have hearts like gold and are majestic angels.
Sometimes it is because of lack of options or just fear. Especially in small towns where going to the ER or church could lead to people gossiping and in small towns, sometimes reputation affects your livelihood. Like, if a business owner is suspected of an affair people could boycott (something like this happened in the town I grew up in, the guy who owned the laundry mat was suspected of stealing his neighbor's lawnmower so people stopped going until it was proven he didn't do it). Or if it is a kid and they are worried about their parents finding out and being disowned. Or if there is abuse or incest. I mean, I know that some of these losses (like business or just getting in trouble with your parents) don't sound equal to a kid's life, but people do stupid things on impulse. One of my roommates in University gave a kid up (to social services not thrown away) after she was raped in high school because she said she wasn't sure she would ever be able to look past how she had, had him and wanted him to be with people who would love him completely. Thankfully, when it happened, she had a good support system, but she said that when she found out she felt ashamed and horrified about it and was afraid of what people would say at school if they found out. I don't think she'd have down this, but that is the kind of situation that could lead to this. Other than people just being scum.
