(Answer at bottom) That word problem didn’t even make sense. You can’t deduce the price of the meal when your only point of information is “Peggy paid 2/5 of the meal”. Yeah, Pam had $8, but she could have had any random amount of money. Is the actual solution that we’re supposed to assume her $8 is the remaining 3/5 of the meal even though it didn’t state that? Because then the solution would be that her meal was $13.33… My work shown: 8÷3=2.66…×5=13.33…

You know what, I'm sitting on my bed trying to figure out the math problem. Peg has 2/5 of a the bill but Pam has 2/5 of what Peg has and that $8. So to get to 1/5 of what Peg has you find out what 1/5 Pam has, which is $4. Then you multiply that by 5, which gives you $20. Multiply that by 2 and you get was Peg has... $40. This is where I stopped because I'm wondering what they bought that is more than $40. But the bill is $100, I'm hoping that I am very wrong but I just confirmed it with my brothers and I'm still trying to find out how the bill got to $100. But then again, I live in England and a group of 15 spent almost £200 on McDonalds
