Such a pretty block! Love the secondary blocks and the black background. Your instructions are concise and to the point and easy to understand. Us old folks tend to ramble on and on without saying much, Lol. Appreciate the energy of your youthful approach in sharing this video.
@LikesQuilts Some of us old folks ramble a little less than others, but I appreciate your comment nonetheless. I do wish I could make a block in the 10 minutes this video took. It always took me longer to do anything than it took my mother, especially when prepping dinner. Very nice pattern. Have a nice day.
Love this quilt! I think the black background really adds a lot of drama to it. I love all precuts, but probably my favorites are charm squares and fat quarters.
Love your pretty quilt! Thank you for the pattern. My favorite precut is a layer cake…i can chop it up into anything i need. I do like to buy charm packs and mini charm packs of my favorite fabrics though
Very nice. Good demo T. Love how genuine you are. This pattern is very nice. It's quite different from a lot of others. I really like it. I'm not sure what my fav pre cut is, but whatever it is, it would be one without pinked edges.😊
Love these Vegas strip blocks! I prefer a pattern that shows off the material so these precuts are perfect. And the blocks are so big it goes together faster but doesn’t look like less work. 😊
I am enjoying your Vegas Strip quilt tutorials. The black background gives it a stained glass look. If I like most of the collection, I will get a mini charm and make project bags and mug rugs. Thanks Teancum!
By golly I already know which of my Vegas Strips I'm going to use in the quilt. Just need to decide on a background. Good thing tomorrow is club day.....
I'm so pleased to have discovered your site! I love the new strip set, the Vegas strip. I'm working on a pattern by Jan Hassard called Undulations and it requires 6 colourways with 8 different fabrics in each colourway. The fabrics need to be WOF and while I have a huge stash I don't seem to be able to get enough WOF out of my stash. BTW, Could you tell me how big the quilt behind you is?
I'm slowly (as I have time) working on this block. I'm loving it but ironing those hourglass block seams open twice is very time consuming but very necessary. Even tho I had all my stacks of squares marked I still messed up one block and noticed too late to fix it and no extra of that fabric. Luckily there is enough of each of the other strips left that I am going to be able to use them to make one scrappy block and I think it's going to look just fine.
i have a couple of Vegas strips, but haven't used them yet. I really love my jelly rolls and charm packs...and i have a growing pile of mini charms that i would love to see pattern for!
My favorite pre-cut is a half-yard bundle. Fat quarters can be too small and often a full yard of several fabrics is often too much. Half yard bundles are just right. :)
This quilt is gorgeous!! I have a ton of batiks and like this pattern because it shows off the beautiful batiks. I am really liking the Vegas strips but, jelly rolls are also a favorite. Thank you for the tutorial. You all rock.
*goth angel sneaking over andd taking notes cause new to quilting and raises hand* So each strip is measured and i don't have to worry about m anxiety kicking inn on i the strips are correct?
Yes! Our Vegas Strips are meticulously measured and cut with precision using specially made rigs and tools. Just take it slow! Being a new quilter can be intimidating and you will need to get out of your comfort zone a little bit. It takes time and practice. You've got this! ♥
This is awesome. I had not heard of Vegas strip. I need try that out. I use a lot of charm squares. I’m from Indiana and can’t wait until visiting your shop next year when we go to Las Vegas to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday. Thanks for the tutorial. Beautiful quilt.
