Ginagamit ko mostly ay parchment paper tapos pinapahiran ko thinly ng coconut oil before putting the dough.Lastly babalutin ko pa ng foil to make it sure na walang makapasok na water.Ok naman po at masarap parin ang kakanin kahit hindi dahon ng saging ang gamit.Dito kasi sa Germany mahal ang frozen banana leaves tapos punit punit pa.I love the comfort of using the parchment paper+foil.Just a tip lang po.

I tried buying the frozen banana leaves, it’s really different compared to the fresh ones. For me lang ha? Iba ang amoy minsan kasi it’s old, and parang na ruin ang taste ng aking niluto. Feeling nostalgic seeing this! I grew up with this snack in Bohol. Another version Chef is to use grated (kinayod) young coconut instead of banana & of course no need to add niog then use some liquid like cocomilk, milk or just plain water & it is called Alupe( I'm not sure of the spelling he he) Correct ka Chef Pinoys esp our folks in the province before were so resourceful di ka magugutom talaga they can turn whatever is available into something for the family to enjoy.... kaka-miss!
