I always watching your experimental videos. So clever! I especially want to say congratulations for being invited to be a Tim Holtz maker, so well deserved! I will be watching all the new releases and cheering you on!
Congrats on becoming part of the Tim Holtz design team. I've always thought the two of you would be great together. I look forward to seeing your makes on his lives - I know they'll be great.
🤯📯 📯📯 that's me, tooting the horn! Because This is so Amazing! Luise, you just keep blowing our Minds with the things you come up with, dare I say Invent!
Stunning results! Omg that last lift when you revealed the large maple leaf, was breath taking. Also, I have to admit, I have never watched a Tim Holtz video, but since you are now part of the team, I’m going to head on over 😊
Hi Luise I'm very impressed with your eco dying. I would not call it fake. You are using real plant materials. You are just using different products and different method to get the same results. I love it.❤😃
I'm glad you answered the question about how much time between the sandwich because I was about to ask! This is absolutely exquisite. I love what you've captured with ink and leaves from nature! Definitely trying this! TFS! 🌿🍂🍁
Alchemy! I think your faux eco-dye technique is an incredible hack. Miraculous! The addition of the brown paint to highlight the edges of the leaves or petals was genius. Very clever. You are clever. Thanks!
OH👏MY👏GOSH👏...Luise! I flippin' L💖💖💖VE these!!!🤗💗 I actually have a bunch of eco-dyed paper I've done recently for a specific "mass making" project I'm working on. But, I tell you, girl...I am doing THIS...TODAY!🤩 So much faster, easier, less mess, offers far more control & color specificity. Absolutely stunning!💖 I wish I could borrow just a small piece of your brain sometimes. Brilliant.💗 Thank you so much. Love and blessings, my dear.💜💜💜 p.s....have you tried fabric yet??? 😁
OMG ❤❤❤❤❤❤ These are amazing i am in awe at your creativity, see what i mean i definitely need to spend a day in your head how do you do it your like Google, is there anything u can’t do or don’t know lol ur a genius ❤❤❤
Beautiful prints, I have also been making fake eco dyeing but with fresh leaves and ink pads and sprays, but i roll mine through my Big Shot embossing machine. They turn out awesome. I do have videos showing how. I think you could combine the two methods and get some really great prints. Thanks for sharing your process.
Everything came out so... GORGEOUSLY beautiful, however the MAPLE leaf is, by far, my most favorite one! Thanks for another wonderful video, full of creativity & inspiration... ❤ !!!
Oh my goodness, Luise, I am so impressed that you have come up with such an excellent way to make faux eco-dying. I have avoided the eye-dying process because of all the work, time, and odor of this process. This way, I can experiment and hopefully make some gorgeous papers. I so appreciate your experimentations. I can’t wait until I have some leaves to press and use, or maybe, I’ll just create some die cuts, especially with the leaves that Tim Holtz has given us with all the eaten away parts. Thank you so very much for all your time to come up with this marvelous technique. You’re the best, my dear!
👍🏻👍🏻Wow, what amazing results using your photo paper / distress oxide ink refilled technique. The results are stunning. Thank you for sharing. This is something everyone can do. Doing the other method boiling water adding other ingredients etc is not for me. To much work. Love your method and will try this. Video very helpful.
On some, I agree that there was too much oxidation on the leaf design, but in some instances, I liked some because the veins of the leaf showed up a little better with some oxidation left on the leaf, but not all; the water-brush was genius because you could control how much to take off or leave. LOVELY Luise... really lovely.
OMGosh... these are incredible. So much prettier after you removed some of the excess ink too. I think a cotton dishtowel to pick up the excess paint because the cloth becomes an awesome piece of art too... to rip/tear, die cut, whatever and used it someplace else. I'm going to have to give this a try. TFS
This is an incredible technique! I l0vE it! It's so nice to have options when creating artistic impressions. I'm so happy we have such an innovative creator as yourself for new ideas and inspiration. ❤😊
Wow, Luise! What an amazing experiment. It was fascinating from beginning to end to watch and learn right along with you. I love how you are always experimenting and take us along on the journey.♥️
Oh my goodness, this is AMAZING!!! I can not wait to try this! Your results are beautiful and the process allows for artistic creativity, so much more than "cooking" the plants. Thanks for sharing your amazing process!
Awesome you are on the Tim Holtz team, YEA!!! You really deserve it!! This is an incredible technique, your experiments really paid off. I can't wait to try it. You inspire me. Thank you for sharing.
once again Luise, your experiments are fun and exciting. I love to eco dye fabric and I photocopied my fabrics to get paper to use, but this is so much more satisfying for journal making. Well done. Love it!!😁❤❤
Luise, have you ever watched "Kory's Art Cafe"? She did a similar video but was using water color paper and mixed media paper and did say that you could not use anything with water after they dry. So I'm going to use your favorite paper and some her method to see how it comes out. Thanks so much for your wonderful ideas and always sharing.
Jaj, Ja, Ja, ....
This is awesome ! Oh my good. I’ve tried eco dying last week with no success. I don’t have enough rusty tool to put in my pot, and then, indeed, it smells like hell. I don’t have any oxyde distress ink, except the distress spray (vintage photo) but I do have a lots of acrylic ink. I. I’ll give it a try. Also I’m currently dying a lots of fabric with these inks, trying to reproduce what I see with eco dying. 😊
I tried this yesterday and my prints turned out fairly well for a first try. Some were patchy with white areas and I wanted to try to save them so when they dried I went round the leaf outlines with fine black pen and added green distress in from a pad with a blending brush - and rescued them! This may help another beginner like me? I am learning so much from your videos- thank you x
So beautiful, I'll have to try with cold pressed watercolor paper and the distress inks, that's all I have to work with, thanks again Luise, tried and true as always!
Beautiful effects quickly produced. I noticed at the start you use double-sided photo paper and assume this method would not work so well with single-side paper? Can't wait to try this out.
Luise your techniques are so fantastic. Also your English is very very good. I want to help you. The part of the leaves from the stem to the middle is called “veins” in English. Much love to you. 🥰
What we think about this is............ WOW! This is absolutely AMAZING!!! I love this so much! I've been struggling with eco-dyeing and have so many ho hum pages, even using all the right things. But to be able to control the colours & effects like this.... I am in awe! Thank you so much for trying this. I can't wait to try it with some Black Soot to see if I can get an effect like Nature Spirit Journal's gorgeous eco-dying
Luise, they are awesome I have done the long process of eco-dying but this is much quicker . Have you tried using fresh material with the oxide,I have some fresh foliage I may have to try. I’ll let you know how it turns out. I do have several different dried foliage and I have that paper you told us about this photo paper in another one of your videos. Thank you, you are amazing!!!!
