Hot Take: Dream Team has some of the best music in the M&L series. BIS's Final Battle may be the best, but Dream Team has the most bangers of any of them.
So true. Ever notice how most of the music in Paper Jam attempts to emulate the music used in Dream Team? Bowser's castle, the mountains, the desert, the battle and boss theme, even most of the cutscene music sounds like an offshoot of the music used for the same areas in Dream Team. All the other M&L games have very distinct OST that sets them apart from each other, but Paper Jam shares a large amount of overlap with Dream Team in music, and several other aspects as well.
This remix just goes to show how much a master Yoko Shimomura is at remixing motifs and stylings. We got some SMRPG flourishes, Paper Mario breakdowns, and the consistent bounce from both M&L and SMRPG. Probably helps half of this stuff is based on her other works too.
@@Qtontheplayer Those tutorials are in all the games though, they teach you hammers, bros attacks, each new overworld ability/dreamworld ability, etc. It's bothersome and they rectified alot of this in the remakes by using the guide to allow the skipping of tutorials, but really you had to go through the same crap in BiS and PiT. They just had that clusterfuck of tutorials teaching players about the most basic elements of the game several times over in the game's introduction and pi'illow castle.
@@Qtontheplayer Yeah it is, quite literally one of my first childhood games, but man that final boss was a big letdown. Too easy, when the 3 bosses that precede it are much more difficult.
