I really loved your videos, it’s very interesting to see how obsolete OS reacts to viruses. It seems that there were more « funny » viruses back in the days. Today It seems to be more about miners, stealers or in 2016 cryptolockers .
@@EricParker You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This CHICANERY? He's done worse. That program! Are you telling me that a man just happens to run malware like that? No! He orchestrated it! danoct1! He ran CIH on vulnerable hardware!
Michaelsoft Binbows was actually a pretty respectable store. Michael is used as a name almost like John Doe for Westerners, Binbows was a pun relating to thrifting old computer parts. They salvaged and repaired systems to make them at low cost. The name was not just a rip off, but a deliberate pun.
Maybe it's just because I've studied Japanese for a while but ohhh my god, it annoys me so much when people confuse it with Chinese or Korean, they look SO DIFFERENT how do you even do that!!!!
I'm in the same boat and grew up exposed to a lot of Chinese. But I think if you don't really have any experience looking at them, you're going to mostly just see a lot of straight strokes in fixed width square-ish blocks and it will be hard to know what you're looking for. There aren't really any languages in common use outside of CJK that have that kind of script characteristic so someone with really almost zero exposure would probably still know that it's one of them, but not really know which one.
The "company (C)" thing is standard in CJK Windows. This is so that you can use Alt+C to jump to the control. In English/Western localizations of Windows, you might see some letters underlined (you might need to first press Alt in modern versions), but with the way CJK input methods and CJK characters work, they need to show the letter that actually exists on the keyboard that you can press.
It's crazy how many people couldn't tell that the apostrophes around Japanese and 97 were sarcastic. Then again, reading comprehension and critical thinking aren't too common nowadays.
Bots failing to understand the difference between teaching people how to install kmspico and warning about viruses called kmspico. I even found one that's doing the former and up and monetized. I am still talking to them about it, idk...
the amount of people in this comment section who don't know what dark quotes are insane in case anyone comes onto this video to comment "It's not Japanese it's Chinese!", quotation marks around a subject in this manor is called a dark quote and it indicates sarcasm, he's saying it's "Japanese" in dark quotes because the disc claims to be Japanese but is actually in traditional Chinese. However please make the stupid comment for engagement because I like this channel and Eric making money is probably a good thing for me.
