I work at Olive Garden. I’m in my last two weeks so I feel comfortable actually posting this lol Our food is cooked fresh, but because we sell SO much of it every day we have to prep certain things in the morning and chill them before heating them again. Pasta is precooked, as well as sauces, and soups. I have gotten food poisoning twice, from the braised beef and from the chicken Parm. Eat those items at your own risk. Desserts are made by a third party, sent to us frozen, and we fridge-thaw them and serve. The breadsticks come to us frozen, we heat them in a designated oven, coat in margarine, season with garlic salt, and send them to the table. If your marinara or Alfredo sauce is mixed into your pasta, not centered on the top, your food was sitting in the window for so long it died and they stirred it back to life. Eat at your own discretion. If you order from the to-go station, they have your food ready to go to the bag 10 minutes before your expected arrival, and they put it in a warmer to keep it hot until you pick it up. If you are later than you said you’d be, your food will get old and stale. Show up to pick up your order when you said you’ll be there, otherwise it’s not their fault the quality sucks.
My location doesn't get the breadsticks frozen.. Ive heard this is a thing elsewhere but at the 3 locations I've worked they all get them prebaked locally and delivered 3 to four times a week.
As an employee of 3 years in 3 different locations in the South, this video represented pretty accurately the food imo. The sizes are similar and honestly the food was plated well. As a lot of commenters already said, the food isn’t fresh, there’s a lot of freezing and thawing happening with most things, but the food isn’t trash. And working for the company is pretty awesome too, I get really good health benefits at pretty affordable rates so, it’s not like some 5 star gourmet place but Olive Garden ain’t that bad, just saying.
I don't think people understand this is filmed throughout a day then edited. She may have had more alcohol than what you see and also she may have sat w said alcohol in her system for a while between takes so she's tipsy when they film again. She doesn't just eat in an hour, this is filmed throughout the day.
I work there currently. We don't microwave very much at all. There's only 2-3 items (mostly in the appetizers) where something is microwaved. Everything else is on the grill, in the saute station, everything is fried right then and there, pasta is cooked and re-boiled in pasta boilers, soup is always fresh.
@@marissatierney4773 lets work this out. What you wrote "they are shit isn't..." or they're. "Their" is the correct "their" because it shows ownership. Look at that over "there" . You're or you are welcome.
Can you please add subtitles to this video and make it audio accessible to those who cannot hear but wish to know what you are saying regarding the food? Thank you kindly
I love watching you try all of these restaurant menu items because that way I get a real life preview of exactly what things look like and you give such honest and true opinions of the food. Love your channel! Thanks much!
Olive garden is where me and my husband went for dinner the day before our wedding and they paid for our entire meal plus dessert. Was one of the best experiences at olive garden that weve had
I think she meant like stereotypical fruity. Like those sweet or sour fruits. But tomatoes are like sweet and acidic. You wouldn't call tomato sauce fruity, now would you
Julie is just so sweet and I love all of her videos. I rewatch them after a while because she makes me smile!! Keep these videos going forever please 😊
I dislike Olive Garden but my MIL insists on eating there. I ordered some sort of steak...it was thin and looked as if it went straight from the freezer to the flat top. It had congealed brown blood around it.Fettuccine is safe. Ill do that next time and not drom being basic. Its to save my stomach.
Julia, you are amazing. Rewatching alllll of these in memorium of the series ending. Thank you for all the glorious episodes. You are beautiful and funny and smart. Thanks for sharing all of that with us over the years.
I LOVE the Chicken and Gnocchi soup. It's freaking amazing. 9 times out of 10 I go there just to eat the soup and bread sticks. Of their actual meals I've only tried their basic ass spaghetti w/ marina sauce and their Chicken/Shrimp Carbonara dish. It's actually really good but it's also pricey.
I’ve never been to Olive Garden. I had a best friend who is 100% Italian, told me it’s not real Italian food, and to never go there. Lol, we grew apart, so I think I’ll try it now. 🤗
Nasya Carter Nah only people who haven’t been out to real, scratch kitchen restaurants “love” olive garden. Shit is one level above frozen marie calendar’s meals.
Not true. Pasta is boiled, cooled in an ice bath, stored and re-heated in pasta boilers. The sauces are made fresh as well as the soups. True about the desserts though. 😅
The stuffed chicken Marsala is always my fav, I wish it always looked that good though! Never that much sauce anymore. Fun fact...Olive Garden actually has some of their recipes available online. And included in those recipes, is the stuffed Chicken Marsala recipe. =) It has about a thousand ingredients, but it is so. damn. good.
New season suggestions: Chilis TGI Friday’s Outback Hard Rock Cafe Denny’s Johnny Rockets Tony Roma’s Bubba Gump Rainforest Cafe SmashBurger Planet Hollywood ... and probably one season exclusively for popular Fast Food Chains would be cool too!
@@dami5154 you calling her names when actually she is right. It's not anybody's problem that somebody is starving. People can do whatever they want to with the food they buy with the money they earn.
Personally I'm a server at Olive Garden and I'm so happy to see this, as a main point we got rid of some good dishes and replaced them with some...Mediocre new ones, but we gotta switch it up :(
I almost questioned what *fluffy cheese* was (in terms of...I dunno, anything) then I realized she is eating *lasagna dip* . I *LOVE* this channel... its like a ghetto Bon Appetit that made love with Thrillest.
"The breadsticks. They are unlimited and they are fluffy and they are amazing." Me: Yes. That"s bread. I'm french, every restaurant here have fluffy bread in unlimited use XD
@@panyietelka I think you get only the overcooked baguettes, because the only times I eat bread so hard I can barely chew it, it was when I eat dry bread ^^'
They take them back to the offices and others get to eat from them. Nothing is just tossed out after filming. She's talked about it in I believe the P.F. Chang's episode.
I'm absolutely shocked she didn't order Stuffed Mushrooms!! That's the best appetizer. My favorite dishes are the Chicken & Shrimp Carbonarra, Shrimp Alfredo, and Create Your Own Pasta with Gluten Free Rotini, Creamy Pesto, & Shrimp. I'm a huge 🍤 shrimp lover.
I absolutely love the shrimp fritta 💜!!! I also love the calamari but I haven’t been able to eat it since I had a gallbladder attack after eating it 😭😭 my mind associates the calamari with pain
I mean its also times square and, as someone living in nyc who has been to this location many times, it has to be up to par with all the other restaurants even in a 2 block radius and with tourism
This location is a disaster, I disliked this video because it’s all lies. It’s awful that Olive Garden would prepare the best dishes for Julia and not do the same for the average customer. No offense - if you’re ever in NYC, don’t ever go here you will regret it and you might even get sick!
