Watch the order of ingredients, the yeast should be away from the salt and the water. That is why you make a little well or dimple in the flour to put the yeast.
@delladearest2511
@delladearest2511 10 месяцев назад
Ok then when is salt added?
@angeltaylor2244
@angeltaylor2244 9 месяцев назад
Try after you put in the flour put the sugar on one side of the bread pan the salt on the other side and make a little well in the middle of the flour for the yeast and see if that works better.

I use my bread maker to make and prove the dough, then take it out and shape and put in a tin and allow it to rise again, before baking in the oven. You have more control and a better end result. 😊

Yeyyyy so pleased it worked for you. I had a nightmare with my bread maker granted we got it free as a handy down but I couldn't get it to produce nice bread 😂 it had two paddle things and one loaf was a disaster so I gave to my dad for thr chickens not realising the paddle was still in the bread ... anyway I had no clue where it went to just flung the machine 😅 then dad found the paddle in the mud in the hen run!!! 😅

I’ve made this bread in my Breville bread maker in New Zealand Thankyou so much we have struggled to find a bread that my husband can have a sandwich with. I used Bakells GF bread mix flour, and while I do miss Dove which I can’t get here (I’m from the UK) this works. So Thankyou so much. The only thing I’ve found for me and this is the flour I think the bread gets quite brown in the last half hour in the machine so I’m going to try and take it out 15 minutes earlier than stated if I dare. The bread flour here is approx £4.00 a bag I’ve worked out that the loaf costs approx $4.00 to make as opposed to $8 to $12 a loaf win win. So thankyou we were struggling for bread. 1:43 1:46

I don't have bread flour right now so All Purpose flour it must be. I would recommend not filling your measuring spoons over the machine just in case the salt/oil/etc. cap falls off or you over-fill the spoon. I have an Emeril T-fal bread maker from 10-15 years ago though I've only made a few loaves of bread in that time, sadly. It's hot here in NJ U*S*A* right now so I might start the bread early morning. Happy Cooking!

@anitamaney1864

I have a different Russell Hobbs bread maker and the instructions say that the order of ingredients is very important. Off the top of my head it's yeast first, then flour, then sugar, salt, milk powder, oil, water. Dry first and then the wet. When the ingredients have gone in in that order I get a pretty perfect loaf. 👍
@user-hj6ie3hp1l
@user-hj6ie3hp1l 4 месяца назад
Dry to wet ingredients are about in the golden ratio >> 5:3 >> 1.6x multiplier roughly But the most important thing is to watch the porthole and see if the dough needs more flour or more liquid during the first 10 mins or so...

Personal experience - Tip - If the buttons don't respond to your input before the machine begins kneading the ingredients together, press & hold the "start\stop" button until it beeps once. When you use number 3 setting to make whole wheat bread, when starting the program, it looks like it's not doing anything, all you can hear is the clicking of the thermostat. This is normal & there's no reason to worry 🙂👍

have made an attempt at 6 loafs french bread so far last recipe i used was a tweak of the one in the book that came with machine. recipe called for 4 cups flour,1and half cup water. teaspoon salt and one n half teaspoon yeast. all loafs were dense as heck! so the sixth loaf i used slightly under 4 cups flour,very slightly more water,same amount of salt and 2 teaspoons yeast. i also turned up temperature in house to 72. was at 68 (dont know if that really helped) but..... the loaf came out very nice. not dense and it rose significantly higher. i also monitored the kneading process throughout the first 5 doughs were dry and hard. the sixth came together nice as a ball,and was a lot softer.
@mumthings
@mumthings 6 месяцев назад
The climate in the house definitely affects it I think. You do need to use more or less flour depending on how dry the climate is, the yeast won't do so much if it's too cold etc. Definitely a bit of an art form! Glad you stuck with it and found what worked :) xx
@Mr.56Goldtop
@Mr.56Goldtop 7 месяцев назад
At the end of your kneading cycle you can take the dough out and remove the paddle, that will make a very small hole instead of that big gouge the paddle leaves.

I did it on Thursday evening and can honestly say thank you so much it turned out delicious, really tasty and nothing like the store bought at all..🤤 The only thing I did wrong was put it on the fast bake setting, it could've done with being on slightly longer as it was a little bit undercooked and pale but we still ate it lol. I think I'm sensitive to yeast though, I got a few little niggles after eating it but nothing major thankfully Do you substitute the yeast for Xantham gum? I also saw you in the UK too. You should try Lynas food service for the bulk gluten free flour it's brilliant and only £6 for 3kg tub. xx
@mumthings
@mumthings 11 месяцев назад
I’m so glad it worked for you! It’s a relief when you finally get something resembling actual bread isn’t it 🤣 sadly no, the xantham gun is just to replicate the texture from gluten so it stops the bread being crumbly. If you’re allergic to yeast too I would recommend looking into unleavened breads like flat breads. Or maybe Irish soda bread? It’s made with baking soda instead of yeast and has quite a distinctive taste. Thanks for the tip with the bulk flour! Xx

I have a black one of these, I followed the instructions precisely never having made bread. I couldn't believe the results expecting failure first thing, but it didn't fail! I'm at one with my bread maker. I find it hilarious watching the dough twerking especially when it kneads dough to make the biggest loaf!😂 Making The biggest loaf, when removing the loaf from the tin just by turning the tin over & patting the tin, the loaf should just slide out of the tin leaving the paddle in place, but making the smallest loaf, you have to dig out the paddle from the loaf, I'm very glad I invested in this, it's cool!😊❤👍 When you make gluten free bread, do you not add milk powder because that contains gluten?🤔 I use digital scales to measure out the more miniscule ingredients. I think companies like Russell Hobbs that build appliances that handles food for consumption have to follow health guidelines when creating recipes, personal recipes follow preference that is not deemed as following the healthy lifestyle guidelines.
@mumthings
@mumthings 6 месяцев назад
I'm so glad your machine is working well for you! I think the recipes they provide are a great starting point, but half the fun is tweaking things to your own taste. I've never seen a recipe that uses milk powder to be honest. I'd probably give it a go, I wouldn't think milk powder would have gluten in it. It's just milk I think? xx

@@mumthings I'm from the UK & I hope you can get the ingredients where you live, because I would like to tell you what I'm baking. Cadburys Flake Chocolate bread loaf! 1. Soy Milk (40 seconds in the microwave) 2. Olive Oil 3. Caster Sugar 4. Salt 5. White self raising flour 6. Yeast 7. 2x Crushed up Chocolate flake (add this when the beeper tells you to add additional ingredients during kneading process)🙂 The latter was a modified recipe of how to bake the basic white small loaf, which was included in the instruction manual.

I've had an old Pacific bread maker for years. I put in water and a bread mix and perfect white loaf every time, They don't make these anymore and I'm surprised no one has continued the great makers. I'm dreading it breaks down. I've tried others, but as most of them are made with a fixed computer chip inside that has never seemed to work. I no longer look for a replacement.when will manufacturers learn ..make it simple and stick to maybe 3 programs like mine. It has a wholemeal and a french setting but I never use them as I don't like either bread.

Back in the 90's a friend's mom got one of those bread makers and she started making lots of loaves of bread, and within about six months the whole family started having symptoms of candida albicans, caused by the bread yeast. So she quit making the breads.
@mumthings
@mumthings 9 месяцев назад
How weird!
@keepdancingmaria
@keepdancingmaria 9 месяцев назад
Candida is a yeast that feeds on sugars, bread and other starches are the same as sugars to the yeast. Candida does not feed on bread yeast. But it does feed on bread sugars. So the family suddenly were eating lots of bread, and that was feeding the candida. The bread yeast was just there, along for the ride, getting the blame.
