hey guys! I really do need to clarify and explain my explanation of the “cons” of the emiliasbastard style. in retrospect, I can 1000% understand why people are getting the impression that I’m “shaming” or “bashing” editors who replicate this style; however, this could not be farther from the truth. I chose to include this style BECAUSE it’s so clean and I understand why people like it so much and use it as a sort of blueprint. my con was meant to be completely objective and more directed towards an editor who is aiming to create their own unique style. there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with having this style or anything similar to it, and it does not make you an unoriginal or “copycat” editor!! as long as you’re editing what you enjoy and having fun while doing so, there is NOTHING you should be doing differently. a lot of people, however, have inquired about developing your style and how I personally developed my style, so the pros and cons I spoke about are possible things to consider when trying to decide YOUR style. I truly wanted these pros and cons to be, again, objective, but I can completely see where I may have sounded judgmental or rude! I want to remind y’all that the whole point of my channel is to help all editors learn ae and advance their skills, not to stifle their drive or creativity. do whatever feels right for you!! much love
omfg im a 3D editor AND YOUR CONS ARE SO ACCURATE UGH YEAH THE TRANSITIONS THEMSELVES DON'T TAKE LONG. but it's just the ideas and thought process that does. anyways LOVE UR CHANNEL

shit face hhah joo oon suomalaine. Se on kyl aik ihmeellist ky löytää suomalaisen. Mun oma käyttäjä instagramis on iha btw @mysticahoney, mikä sun on? ( jos siis editoit)
At least you have a style, some people struggle to find ‘their’ style, I’m sure your ‘boring’ style will develop to be more interesting so keep editing🙃
For some aesthetic transitions I think how they dont make it repetitive they make the character move(eye blinking ect.) or they use the character PNG and the clouds (like they’re floating) but it’s so calming😭
Me before knowing how complicated AE is: "I want a bad bleep After Effects" Me after seeing how complicated it is: "I don't want a bad bleep After Effects"
ah omg i'm so early, i just wanted to say lauren i love your tutorials. i just recently switched from ae cs6 to ae cc 20 and i'm going to be watching all your tutorials!
I also do that! Horror = red gradient, deep vignette, chromatic aberration. Wholesome = rosey colour, blurred edges, light film damage. Anime = simple cinematic colour correction to deepen the colours, film damage. etc
It’s so refreshing to see a fellow editor make youtube videos with their face! Its really nice to see and its really fun to watch you do all in person and in real time. Good on you girl ❤️
It amazes me how you can instantly think of transitions and effects for edits that aren’t even your style, I’ve been editing with the same style for a year and I still struggle to think of what transitions and effects to use, I have to plan it out for ages lmao
The trick for using regular transform is null layers and-something that changed my whole editing lifestyle-moving the last keyframe after the end of your clip. When you can still see the clip where your keyframe ends the motion blur will disappear last minute which is what makes it look and feel so choppy. When you extend the first and last keyframe 1 or 2 frames (depending on the situation) before or after the clip it will make it look less choppy. Heres to hoping this helps at least someone out there! (I feel like this was just word jumble lol)
