The colour of the green one is nicer but the drops definitely look better on the purple one!

Yeah. If you put drops in first, you will just end up with clear reason drops that rest flat, and it doesn't look great

Those colors are awesome! I think for flat pieces, like coasters, Nicole's way is better (especially with bigger drops), but for more 3D pieces like the frog, i think they work better on the outside.

The purple looks better from a real water droplet effect, but the green technique could be a good way to add those color variations and patterns that are on reptiles.

Purple for sure was my favorite. The droplets look like they should, like surface drops of water. The green one looked weird with the sunken clear spots.

The purple one looks kinda warty lol Try using a soft-bristled paintbrush for the chameleon powders. Makes it easier to get into the nooks and crannies and won't dislodge the drops.
@angiewright692
@angiewright692 Год назад
On the frog, it makes more sense to have the rain drops raised, but the other way would make sense on a flat surface like a coaster. Be careful using toothpicks as you can easily scratch your mold. Even I found this out the hard way. Enjoy your videos, you've taught me a lot of things I didn't know, and saved me some headaches.

I like both, but the purple i like more! I am extremely curious now though what it'd look like if you used both methods in one frog? add a multi-layered effect! I also like that the resin 'ran' on the green one making it look like the 'water' drops were moving!

Maybe the “inside” droplets could be long lines, indicating the ridges and depths of a toad’s back. 🤔 So very cool, Ben!

The purple one by a country mile… the rain drops on the green one look slightly distorted, probably due to the curing process. I received my eggs in the post, they look absolutely stunning and I like the miniature storage boxes, Thanks Ben 👍

I agree with you Ben, having the drops on top adds a texture that’s just like a frog in rain whereas putting the drops in the mold flattens them out. They’re both beautiful colors and great work!

My vote goes to the purple one! Those dots of resin actually look like raindrops, and reflect the colours the way real drops of rain would. I love and prefer the colour of the green frog, green being my favourite colour, but the resin dots were barely just noticeable. Definitely the purple!

The drops on the purple one is how I do them when doing my nails. I know it's a MUCH different medium, however, I find when trying to do water drops of any kind it usually turns out better when they are added last as the 3D effect is more prominent. But I LOVE the little green frog also and I appreciate you showing both ways it can be done.

In my experience, Nicole's method works best on a flat surface like a coaster and Ben's method works best on 3D surfaces, like the frog. I do really love using the first method for coasters, trays, and boxes. The optical illusion of water droplets on a smooth, flat surface is really cool! But I agree with Ben, for something like the frog, the texture is part of the appeal🤷‍♀️
