You’re 100% correct, they needed jobs for all the guys coming back from war and their boomer kids, plus the GI bill was essentially socialism subsidizing college and homes in the 1950s which needed to be furnished and being a repair man was a honorable career. When they realized the potential for plastics and outsourcing and the advent of corporations it was all about shareholders and profits not about keeping Americans gainfully employed. I read last week the average dishwasher lasts 5-7 years now; when 10 years ago they lasted 15-20. I’m still on the fence about when they decided to actively start poisoning consumers though… has to be the 90’s

I don't even know how your comment is relevant to hair gel honestly, it's not a product made for longevity in any time period. No ones buying hair gel with the intent for it to last them 30 years.

Dippity Do helped me get through Marine Boot Camp with long hair! We started with 132 recruits in 2 platoons the summer of 1980. We graduated with only 62 Marines. Only two of us had long hair at graduation: one in each platoon!! ❤❤❤
Dippity do is the best. It’s cheap, smells amazing, it’s pink and it works amazing. I’ve never used it with curlers, just used as a final styler on wash day then diffuse. I buy in bulk when I find it at TJ maxx as it’s canadian and I’m in the states 😂
You can also do this with strips of paper bags and roll your hair up with the gel in it and get the same resultsMy grandmother did my hair like that years ago and it looks so nice. Stay positive!

@@Angelofloveandhappiness no. After you get out the shower, towel dry your hair or after letting it air dry for a while. You put on the curler while the hair is still damp, but not soaking wet. The way your hair dries determines the style you end up with.
I had this stuff and it smelled wonderful! Back on the 60’s we set our hair at night and slept with the curlers in! We had bonnets waaaaaaay back then!
As a stylist I've used this gel before on a roller set and it literally works, drying time was less,no frizz, only thing I didn't like is the hair can get crunchy if you use too much

Dippity Do worked great! I used it a lot. Surprised they still make it and I’d be even more surprised if it lasts as long as it used to. All day and even into the next.
I'm from that era and still use Dippitty-Doo. All women wore bonnets and big rollers to the store, moms dropping the kids off at school, walking the dog and they disappeared by the time we had to go to class/ high school/ college/ work or before our husbands came home. My curls never fall or frizz in humid weather and I am in the tropics. This and Lottabody setting lotion #1!

I love the accuracy! I’m currently cringing at how everyone confuses the early 2000’s fashion and late 2000’s fashion. Such a big difference in fashion and technology if you actually remember living through it.
My sister use to put Dippity-Do on my natural 4C hair when I was little back in the 70’s. I use love the way my hair looked when would put it in ponytails.
I use to use Dippity Do to make my hair hold the curl. It made your hair stiff as a board. We didnt have curling irons invented yet...lol. Put on the hair and put your hair in brush rollers!!😂😂😂😂😂❤
