Since you're in Japan, get yourself a Hario cold brew setup. Freshly ground coffee, brewed overnight in your fridge is as far from bitter as you'll ever taste.

Apparently some of you didn't do your researches and just assume that it would be harmful for Elephants while it actually isn't. The Coffein has no effect on them since you need to boil those beans up. Also Elephants are just digesting 40-50% of their food which are btw about 100 kg or even more depending on their size. So eating takes 3/4 of their time, I don't know how you can assume that they are being forced to eat. Also like Taylor already mentioned, the owners are getting paid. Do your researches instead of spreading unnecessary comments and take a chill pill. Love you Tay ✌💕

ban ana bashing a person without having done any sort of research on the topic isn't exactly compassionate. And making it look like a that kind of person is compassionate is just self righteous and insulting to the word compassion.
@got2many

Maybe you're not bashing but many nutjobs are and doing so without any research and right away assuming the worst. "Passion" does not give you right to be negative and make assumptions about Taylor and others of doing something wrong. Anyone being personal is over zealous so called "ethical vegans". You people need to take your meds.

@@chiafairy7091 Compassion is not always a virtue, Bullies and ignorant people like flat Earthers and those who mock Taylor here are not worthy of Compassion, because If you want to accuse someone of doing something bad, THEN YOU HAVE TO DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH, that's how criticism works, if you don't and come up with mindless conclusions, you destroyed every single right of being treated with Compassion here, you forfeited it by being stupid. You have the right to be angry If it's justified, it's not with these nutjobs here.

That's why I had a look after reading some comments! Even if they are a business and not a charity, they pay the families who own the elephants a very good wage for the work they do, meaning they wouldn't have to force the elephant to do any hard labour or give rides to tourists etc. The elephants get food and hopefully a nice easy life! Obviously in the ideal world they would be free and not owned but there we go.

Alana Robertson I never said she was? Taylor has made it clear before she isn't a vegan. This is why the majority of vegans annoy me. All they do is push their opinion on people, and belittle/critise non vegans. The majority of vegans are as bad as religious fanatics! If you don't like it, don't watch it. I don't know why people feel the need to come on here and leave negative comments which verge on being rude sometimes. I'd be interested to know how many of the vegans popping up on here support Peta? One of the worst, terrorist, pet killing charities going!

These comments are hilarious. Honestly people, if you knew you were going to be upset by the video because you can't handle anything that disrupts your tiny little world and narrative then why did you watch it? Oh right, to complain and judge. I'm surprised Taylor hasn't bother muting the comment section considering all the ignorant and ridiculous comments that have been made. Though, I guess that just shows she's the more mature one and she can stand to see these comments that clearly didn't even bother to listen to what was said in the video.

Anything that has to do with animals involved in production of human products people always automatically assume abuse! Please read more information about the care of these elephants before accusing them of animal exploitation. I can assure you these animals are probably very content eating the beans :)
@khabib2853
@khabib2853 7 лет назад
Ikr, people also automatically assume abuse anytime children are involved in the production of human products... why?? Let the kids work if they feed them lunch
@chiafairy7091
@chiafairy7091 7 лет назад
Skyler Roberts Pooing and eating is a normal part of an animals life, it's not really "work". So equally, if you have a kid eat food it would normally eat anyways mixed with coffeebeans and collect that kids poo to get the beans back, the kid doesn't "work".

@YeowooBBCVIP
@YeowooBBCVIP 7 лет назад
It's the principle. Elephants are an object of production in this process. If you know about all the mistreatments of animals in other fields, it's always the same reason at first : animals are source of production, and nothing else. Abuses come from that. And it's quite useless to drink a coffee coming from animals, it's not worth the risk of abuse there always is in these cases imo.

I learned that the best way to taste the coffee is by slurping it , much like you would a wine. This allows the coffee and air to mix in your mouth, allowing your palette to pick up more aroma. I'm so curious to see what this tastes like, and I think I would try it if I had the opportunity to.... it's a once in your lifetime kind thing, might as well LOL

That's actually quite reasonable for a really unique experience, You can talk about this forever to people you meet and they will be interested. It made me think about when I was in Edinburgh in 2001, and bought some white, black and milk chocolate covered coffee beans from Whittards. They were so delicious and Moreish (crunchy and not too bitter) that I munched away on them whilst watching a film and saw six AM that day because I was so buzzed. I took them home from my holiday and voted to never do it again, but my boyfriends brother stayed over and found them, I warned him about them, but he didn't believe me. He was up until five AM after munching on them all evening. Delicious but with horrible side effects lol 😂

Kopi luwak largest producer is in Indonesia (Sumatra). The name itself is from Indonesian language. Kopi in Indonesian means coffee and luwak means mongoose (Asian palm civet). Idk about Thailand but I know kopi luwak in Indonesia is not from elephant but from mongoose poop. This also can be found in Philippine and Vietnam (cà phê chồn).This coffee is kinda popular in SE Asia.

I've tried Kopi luwak (the cat poop one), I think the taste should be similar with the one you had. It definitely taste unique and lot of flavours. However, I'm sure that I won't have it again. It is because a lot of companies which produce this type of coffee are really cruel to the animals. When I go out I don't know whether the coffee beans are from a cruelty free company or not. So I decide not to have it again. I don't want to help these companies grow and keep hurting them.

Anjuli Cez please read their website. They aren't treated badly they are rescue elephants living in a sanctuary.. proceeds go back to the elephant foundation, it doesn't hurt them and elephants in that area in the past ate the beans for food naturally
@pinklotus1609
@pinklotus1609 7 лет назад
They say on their website that elephants ate the coffee in times of drought, so in other words in a desperate situation. It isn't their natural diet at all. No living thing should eat food that cannot be digested. If you truly like Chinese medicine (which I thought you said you did) that is a basic tenant. Same in Ayurveda... as undigested food creates toxins in living beings

I really want to try this... Despite the poo. Some people respond more to the bitter taste in coffee, and find that using milk in it lessens the bitter taste. That's because the bitter stuff binds to the milk (which is generally neutralising), and lets us sensitive peeps taste the actual taste. Sensitive peeps might also find that they prefer white over red wine, and that's because red wine has that particular enzyme that you're more sensitive towards. So it'd be cool to try this ^^

Even though I'm in no place to drop $50 on coffee, that price isn't bad for a coffee like that. I was expecting the price to be higher!

dont know about elephant poo coffee, but coffee luwak is expensive as the civet only eats the best coffee beans based on capability of its senses to do that.....

I love how people just assume the worst, and use their sentiment as facts. Chill out. Breathe.

In this instance it's not ethics, it's misplaced sentiment and ignorance. If one were to look at the website (or, even simpler, listen to what was said in the video) one would know that assuming this is animal abuse, etc. is incorrect.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the $536 bill. Thank God you clarified this was Macanese Pataca. It confuses me so much that the $ symbol is used for so many different currencies 😧

This was the exciting thing that you came for? I thought you would do something crazy in Macao like bungee jumping or something xD. But still I like your Hong Kong adventures, they were fun to watch and relaxing. The shot where you stand in front of that wall with blue designs on it in this red top looked so beautiful
