Trying Japan’s Longest Distance Limited Express in the Only Private Compartment 

In the beginning I thought it was a good price for a private compartment but the longer I watched, I felt like it was too expensive.

Always fun and calming to accompany you on your public transport adventures!

Good gravy, this was the first time I've seen a Japanese train which was taken care of so poorly. I wonder if this particular run is going to be cancelled.

Train in special class? Yay! I came for curry. Because of you, I’ve spent the last 2 months perfecting my own Japanese style curry as an American (spoiler, it’s way better than buying packaged spices). Thanks for making me want to try. Same for the sushi rice, homemade special ramen, and homemade spring rolls. Stay at home dad that spreads your love to my entire 6 person family. Keep on being awesome, most of us cherish it in ways you wouldn’t even believe!

Well, that train was a bit on the disappointing side. At least the curry was yummy.

I love Japanese country side, I get why most people want to live in the big cities due to convenience and more choices of jobs, but if I ever had the opportunity to live in Japan I would choose the country side although it has to be not far from a big city with quick access by train.

This was too expensive a compartment for such lack of care in the condition of it. Also, I see you're verified now! That's so awesome!

The journey was long, but man, that bathroom and dusty seating was atrocious!! How can a bathroom have no soap in this age of post COVID?‽!! Definitely wasn't worth the price you paid for the private compartment. The curry dish made up for it though :)

A great video as always! All you needed in the presidential suite was a nice big cigar. Great way to finish off with a mouth watering curry dish!!

Oof...definitely a difference from how clean every other train and ferry you've shown has been (even the shabby ferry was at least *clean*). The cleaning crew was rather slack...hope the company sees your video and has...words with them, especially since you're riding in what looks to be the 'executve' compartment. That table was beautiful, though. Maybe they're looking to refurbish/repair/replace that train soon?

This train looks past it's prime

Ive been watching these kinds of videos for months from several youtubers and this is the first dirty train or dirty/poorly kept ANYTHING ive seen in Japan. This through me for a loop

The train definitely does not have the quality or attention to detail we've seen from your videos, but that curry rice looks like it's worth the trouble! When we finally make our trip to Japan, curry rice is on our "foods we have to try" list, thanks to your videos, haha. We appreciate your content. It's both soothing and informative.

The volume controls are for the radio, not for the announcements. I don't know of any train where you can influence this.

I like Kyushu, it is an interesting place but many of the trains there are run down yet very expensive. Kyushu trains make me appreciate trains in Honshu much more.

Watching from USA (the country, not the city lol). I liked the layout of the private compartment, but it looked like it had seen better days. I looked up Japanese curry rice recipe, and it looks a lot like how I make homemade stew with rice on the side, much different than Indian curry. I'm going to have to try making some now, because the ones you eat always look so delicious, and now that I know how they are made, I can see why.

It looks like this train is overdue some serious renovation.

Now I want to go back to Japan just to get that curry you showed at the end.

It's the North American experience to read through these comments calling it "not even worth taking" and "the worst quality public transport" etc. while wishing you had anything, even something worse, between your province/state's major cities But of course.. I'd think they could manage providing soap!

I’m always curious on the ones that look bad, may get it’s final retirement afterwards. Since, Covid did not help for most of the lines.

I took bullet train Toyko to Kyoto. It was spotless excellent service. This train car is a shame I would not use this service so sorry

Good greif that train was in bad shape considering how they usually are. I hope you shared the video to the company because that was pretty shoddy right down to the rust stained sink, very lazy cleaning.

Looks like that train needs to be overhauled. First time im seeing a poorly kept train in Japan. Hope that will happen sometime. I'd rather fly or take a different form of transport (For the price). But for train lovers or people that just want to ride in different trains i guess it will for EXPERIENCE purposes.

OMG, this train needs to be retired ASAP, i thought at the beginning of the vid it looked very dated, plus you got charged approx $110 for this trip, no way, off to the wreckers for this one

Should be able to have a family in the compartment. And a bed to sleep. A private commode would be nice too.

Maybe this train/route has few passengers using it, hence the lack of maintenance

A bit pricy, given you need to bring a jacket, your own soap, some earplugs, and a feather duster. This train definitely feels like it's past its prime. Luckily you had something nice waiting for you at the end of the trip!

Wow! This is the only Japanese trains I've seen that wasn't perfectly clean. In fact it's probably the only Japanese anything I've seen that wasn't perfectly clean.😀

It is quite interesting that each Japan train line offers its own unique railroad experience. 💚

It's amazing how you always find good food at transportation facilities in Japan plus many choices in vending machines. Here in the U.S. you generally get chain restaurants at the airports, same with the larger train stations, and usually nothing besides the possible vending machine with snacks. It's sad that you could take any Greyhound bus and would find a better restroom than the one on that train.
