What I like most about this video (and others) is catching the little glimpses of happiness from you guys; like when Shinichi smiles to Satoshi after tasting the takoyaki corn puffs, knowing that Satoshi will enjoy it; when Satoshi tastes the café au lait manju and so on.... My two favorites from this bokksu were the chocolate banana cookies and the corn snacks. It all really brought a bit of that festival flavor into a long hard summer.

Oh, we have something similar to those cookie straws here in the State. They’re called Pirouettes and are filled with a vanilla, chocolate, or chocolate hazelnut filling.
Glad to see you enjoyed Uogashi Meicha tea :) It's one of my favorite Japanese tea companies, they have lovely stores and cafes in Tokyo (I especially like Uogashi Meicha Cha Ginza) and they are awesome at serving clients who don't speak Japanese.

For once, I got my box last week. The Takoyaki puffs had a familiar to taste to them, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Then I remembered. Here there's a variety of instant chow mein noodles by Sapporo Ichiban that has their sauce powder, and it takes very similar to the takoyaki puffs. I also really enjoyed everything else in the box. I can really appreciate how many of the snacks are not too sweet. Even those wafer sticks has a nicely balanced sweetness that almost reminded me of hot chocolate.

Your Japanese snack and street food reviews and videos make me miss the old Shirokiya at Ala Moana sooo much. I used to work at one of the food booths when I was a student lol. I guess I could find stuff at Don Quijote but it’s such a big store and I feel there is more omiyage type of snacks than regular snacks for home enjoyment . Have you been to the new Japan Village Walk Shirokiya at Ala Moana?
