I hope whoever is on their artist journey doesn't give up! Our journeys are filled with ups and downs but in the end, try to do what makes you happy! Life is too short to let go of the things that bring you joy 💕💕 Honestly, my art journey has been all over the place honestly. Kinda filled with passion, kinda filled with fear of disappointment. I used to draw ALL of the time and my family really supported me until college. I found tons of friends and I loved making little stories of my oc's. However, after posting online for years, I starting having a hard time making art without feeling a rush to finish and post it. As my classwork ramped up I found that the only time I would draw would be to express how stressed out I was (which actually helped a lot)! As the years went on, I ended up drawing less and less and now I'm trying to get back into it! I'm starting at square one again but I really want to draw again. I want to doodle all my little adventures with my family and make little stories again! My biggest goal is to feel happy expressing myself again, I honstly can't wait to heal and believe in myself again haha I'm just so proud of how hard people have been trying and I love seeing all of their work. The journey is starting up for me, see you all along the way as I catch up! @squishy_mints

When you compare specs and price to the competition, this new tablet does fall behind a bit... $500 for a 60hz LCD that only goes to 360 nits brightness is a bit crazy. I paid a similar price for my Tab S8 Plus on black friday sale and it has a 120hz AMOLED that goes to 420 nits brightness... not to mention a vastly superior CPU. I think the price should be more like $299 for the given specs... also the offset cursor issue needs to get fixed in a firmware update as soon as possible. BUT I am glad that XP Pen is taking this segment seriously, stand alone tablets are very very convenient. I am curious to see what they can do in the future.

In comparison to screenless pen tablet, does galaxy tab s8 plus perform worse or better especially for doing lineart?

Comparing a midrange launch price to a year-old flagships BLACK FRIDAY pricing is kinda wild. Especially with how Samsung prices depreciate after a year. The XPPen is priced right under the Tab FE series price range, and rightfully so. If XP wants to be competitive, they need to show they're willing to slap an "Artist Premium" onto their prices. Yes, its the same thing Wacom does. Just not as extreme to the point of pure grime. Also, 299 is very unrealistic from a business standpoint because XPPen is entering under a specialist scope. If they price under the something like the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, they come off as a cheap side brand to be less considered, and they get no benefit from the probable increased sales because they'd be battling against their own products. Why buy the Artist 12, 12 Pro, 13, or 13 Pro for 200-350 when you can get a Magic Pad for 299? It's bad business. Prove your expertise in a sub-market, enter the overall market, then use that sub-market expertise to carve out a new channel of profit. It's clockwork - and speaking of clocks, it's way ahead of schedule if they start making budget tier tablets in that space. Self destructive even. It still shocks me that Huion took that route (and in a spectacularly disastrous way). I was all for a sub 250 device myself, but then i started remembering some core business principles and realized it was unrealistic to want even a sub 400 device of any decent quality. That said, there's no excuse for the offset from the nib. Everything else is excusable.

@@thegrunbeld6876i don't think this person is really into digital art. I'd say if you're more used to traditional art, then this would be better, but if you've always done digital, or already made the transition, screenless graphics tablets will work better for you. I can fo both now, but personally I'd go with a tablet that has a screen. Or a pen display. If you're using a screenless, i recommend having a big monitor (unless the tab is 6x4. Get a screenless thats at least 8x5. Preferably 10x6)

Yeah, I use a tab s6 and I've been thinking of getting a more dedicated drawing setup now that I take commissions and honestly I might just get an S8 ultra or maybe an S9 instead of any 'drawing tablet'.

@@thegrunbeld6876 ive gotten the samsung s7 and the xp pen 12 gen 1. The samsung tablet is better for pressure sensitivity and pen accuracy, but the customization of pen setting aren't too much. The screen tablet has far more hot keys for customization and pen pressure sensitivity is really great, the pen accuracy lacks from time to time (nothing too crazy that restarting wouldn't solve)

My art journey is filled with a bunch of starts and stops. I've been passionate about drawing for as long as I can remember. As a kid I was always encouraged in my artistic journey, and by the time I was a teenager in high school, I was all about drawing fanart of anime, Spider-Man and Harry Potter, and whatever crazy superhero idea popped into my head. I never really thought about taking my art further than just a hobby because in my country we have more of an art community than an art industry that can support its artists, so I went to med school and put down the pencil to focus on my studies. Then one day I ordered myself a cheap graphics tablet, it finally arrived at my doorstep, and a week later the world went into lockdown. I think drawing every day, learning how to draw digitally and finally getting to work on stories that had been bouncing around in my head for years, kept me sane during that time. We got back on track and I went back to school, but this time I also kept drawing. And now here I am years later, my passion for art stronger than ever, and I don't think I'm gonna put down my pen again. I love making art, I love seeing other people's art, and I love the community, with all the support, growing each other, and yes, even with all its drama sometimes. I go by @stewart_wani on Twitter/X. Fingers crossed. Best of luck to everyone!

First of all, I love how you keep it real in your review! I usually say my art jourmey started 2 years ago, but that's actually a lie. My passion for art started over 15 years ago, in high school. I discovered how much I loved art and how much it helped my mental health to just... Draw and paint. And that's exactly how I picked up again after so many years. I firmly believe I suffer from a few undiagnosed mental health issues and long term depression is one of them. I was going through a rough path in my life and I came across an art RU-vid channel, and I just grabbed the nearest pencil and notebook, and just started drawing. And I can't talk enough about how much it has helped me and how thankful I am for this RU-vidr who always has a very motivational word whenever I needed, but who inspired me to do what I love again. And that's my goal with my own art, to inspire others and spread positivity! We all need it! Also so I can tell myself "I did it, I chased my dream!", even if I don't get a penny out of it. To me becoming an artist is not directly connected to monetizing it or not, it's just about our free expression and creativity. Also, I love your channel and your comic, and your videos are always so insightful! Thanks a lot! My Twitter handle is @geekiicorn

I remember I started drawing from a very young age because I saw my mom doing it, and after that I never really stopped. Anything I was curious about, I would draw it in order to understand it better. I then met a person in middle school that showed me her drawings and inspired me a lot to practice, post and get involved in fandom. I started drawing so much fanart, and it also helped me design my school assignments prettier and better. Traditional was never a strength of mine, and I remember always looking forward to the day I could finally get a drawing tablet and draw the way I wanted to. After a few years of practicing, I finally saved up and bought my very first tablet. I remember I didn't even have a computer of my own, so my mom would always lend me hers after work and let me draw all night in it. I have never been too active on social media, as I draw mostly for myself, but I now look forward to the day I am able to live off my art and hopefully show it to the world! Art has always been a very important part of my life, and it has always sort of been... there. Whenever I have been sad, happy, or had a very important thing happen, I would be drawing to cope, to celebrate or to relax and I don't think I will ever get tired of it. I have had only a few art blocks throughout my life, since I often feel very inspired and motivated. I love art, and I think I always will. My twt handle is @Lenmblem :3c

hello hello !! my art journey has been a lot more recent than most here and quite odd bc i started digitally instead of traditionally ,, but i first decided to learn art bc i was roleplaying with ocs on discord and thoight it'd be nice to draw them to life 😭 that was back in 2021 and honestly, it was just a fleeting thought back then (or more like a wish i felt like i was too old to attain). so i ignored it up until april 2023 where i finally downloaded ibispaint on a whim on an old tablet and spent almost six hours trying to draw one head with my finger (it did not come out great at all LMAO). after that, i started tracing over pictures and rendering them on my own until i got to the point where my drawing skills were okay but my rendering skills were leaps and bounds better. recently, though, i've found myself drawing less and less because drawing with a finger on a screen is incredibly hard and i'm sure anyone else here could agree. but i do hope i get to win this ,, i really do love drawing and painting and bringing my ideas to life and i'd hate for it to be squashed just bc i don't have access to a tablet with a stylus. good luck to everyone else participating 💞💞 (@bungosol on twitter)

Hello, first of all thank you for the review, i was looking forward to see what xp pen would release. As for my art journey... I doodle and draw from early age, but as i got older i was "advised" to study and get a "real job". So for years my drawings were on notepads and on the back of wrongly printed accounting documents. So... Couple of years ago i met my husband and with his support i started drawing again and actually progressing. In the pandemic we had a baby and everything was foggy for a year or so :D But now my kiddo it lil bigger and i can proudly say I'm finishing my pieces! This is amazing for me, to the degree it's hard to believe. I want to call myself an artist someday, and I'm so thankful for the support i get from my loved one.

Congratulations! And, more importantly, congrats on the kiddo and the marriage! I hope you enjoy the tablet and pass down the love of art to the little one. It's very fun, and rewarding too, to nuture the next generation of artists in your family. And thank you, Nips, for doing this giveaway! Even though I intellectually know that I'm not alone in my struggles, it's helps to read about others who feel a similar way. I really appreciated the opportunity to share my story. I hope you both have an amazing weekend!

Hi! My art journey started basically since I picked up a pencil. I started to draw since I was really young but I started to get more into the art community and try to improve myselft when I was around 12years old. As probably everyone, I stared tradicionally, with a pencil and printer paper and started to make art. I used to go to the library with one friend of mine of that time and we would draw for hours until we had to go to our next classes. Those memories bring me true hapiness and honestly, even tho I dont talk with that friend anymore, I'm really thankfull that she made me inspired to keep drawing. At the age of 14/15 I started to draw digitally. I drew on my phone, on my finger on ibispaint for years and honestly its not as hard as it sounds, I picked it up quicly and stared to draw more and more. Currently, I still draw but mostly tradicionally. My style stared as an anime style and changed to a semi-realistic, still anime style. Now, I like to draw my own characters, create stories and sometimes make fanarts. I used your art as inspiration and to learn a lot and I'm really thankfull for your videos and the art you post, with you I could learn much quicker and have a lot of fun. I used your art to learn how to sketch, make proportions and most importantly the facial expressions. I feel like I make my characters much more expressive than 3-4 years ago as I started to watch your videos. Currently, I'm almost 20 and I'm in university (in a pharmaceutical science major, not an arts major) and I still get time to draw and have fun when I don't have exams. I don't think I'll ever stop drawing since it's a huge passion of mine. I hope one day I'll be able to draw like you and start my own youtube channel and post my drawings on social media.

Hallo~ I never really sat down and considered my art journey. It always starts off with small doodles in a notebook or on your homework, you know the works. Then maybe around middle or highscool I bought my first pen tablet. I guess that's when my interest in doodling got kinda serious. I wasn't too consistant but in the very least I was learning new tips n' stuff every few weeks or a couple months lol. I had no expectations, I just went into it because I like anime and learning about digital drawing and watching youtubers was extremely satisfying. Looking back I haven't made many doodles but I'm proud of what I did create because it's way more than I even realized. Fast forward to today with all the twitch emotes and vtuber art has left me in awe just as when I began. I'm kinda getting that "serious" drive back and I would like to pursue art as a freelancer. I finally even upgraded my setup from a pen tablet to a display tablet for my birthday a few years back. I'm disabled and can't really work, and seeing how amazing the times have come where people can live off of their creativity has giving me hope again. I'm still picking myself up and trying to find the best way to get the ball rolling. Right now I'm kinda taking the emote artist route. For me I think that's more of the simpler plan until I advance my skills. However, these days I've been thinking about investing in a portable tablet soon so I don't have to be strapped to my desk everytime I wanna draw. I'm glad your video came to me because now I know of this tablet even if I don't win. I know the "tried and true ipad" seems to be the way to go but it's so expensive... so knowing about this tablet has giving me options. So yeah, good luck to everyone and thanks for the opportunity ♥ @CynfulNyx

Lovely review! My art journey started back in my teens when I used to watch anime like card captor Sakura and play games like Okami. Those really sparked the creativity in me so naturally I gravitated towards character design. Even though it started in my teens, I wouldn't take it seriously till my late twenties when I got my first tablet(a surface pro 😅) then I got an iPad and the improvements sky rocketed. I wish everyone luck! 😊

So I've been drawing since I was a kid. Lots of doodling on paper, especially at the back of my notebook (like every artist ever lol). My first art style was influenced by anime, which I was obsessed with at a young age. Since my childhood, drawing and coloring have been my hobbies. I just love creating anything I want out of nothing through drawing. I felt like I had so much power with my imagination, and I feel as though being an artist is so empowering, y'know? But even then, there were times where I felt like giving up drawing because of art block and depression. I had no energy to pick up a pencil until I had stopped entirely for roughly 2 years. I kind of forgot about my passion for art and just focused on my studies. Until lockdown arrived and we had to be confined inside our houses, I kind of had this burst of energy and productivity and thought, "Why not get back to drawing?" Maybe because I keep seeing digital artists draw and I was inspired greatly by them. I ordered a drawing tablet and tried it until I got used to it. It was sooo much fun to draw digitally (personally more enjoyable than traditional). I watched tutorials from many digital artists on every social media site. Then my art style turned to (or was attempting to be) semi-realism. I remember getting inspired by WLOP and Shal.E (love them

My art journey started in 2018 (I was drawing all my life, but it wasn't until 2018 I had gotten the passion for it and I'm grateful I did). I was 11 years old making Grumpy cat comics because one day me and my friend were out in the back of the school just coming from our PE class and saw a black cat on the brick wall. They histed at us and jumped off, we had giggled, and he said, "They're like a grumpy cat" and with those very words a spark went off with inside me, and I had the erg to make grumpy Cat Comics! Funny thing is I didn't know that Grumpy cat was a famous meme already, and I had got the character design of the cat down packed. With that, my love for making comics grew, and I soon wanted to learn how to draw more than simplistic cat comics, so with the inspiration of manga's and animation I began looking art tutorials and from there I was a beginner artist. At the time I was also living in an abusive household with my father...who would often make me show him my art and make me do things I didn't want to do for/to him,, (I'm a survivor of sexual assault), so it was very hard for me to keep going and keep up with my art, I was always ripping it up after he made me show them to him. As for digital art, 2018 was also the same year I began dabbling in it. Using ibispaint on a Chromebook with no drawing tablet was damaging to my hands-- but I was inspired to keep going, even if that meant I had to draw using a mouse pad. My father pawned the Chromebook though and there was no internet (we live in small apartments at the time and had to buy internet codes) so I couldn't back up all of my art (I was really upset about that...). I also had to deal with huger while drawing bc we didn't have food most times. As time went on the domestic abuse did too and it only grew. But I kept going, I kept drawings, no matter how many times we moved, and he made me throw away all of my sketches and art pieces, I'm so proud of my younger self, she would have never thought we'd get out of that situation today. My father is no longer with us, and he can no longer harm us. As for me, it's hard to draw anything right now and I find myself in a stage of emptiness, but I realized as I'm typing this right now- my younger self faut for me to have all of this, to keep going to be able to eat and watch videos! to break down in tears without anyone lashing out on me,, To have a cat! I should not take that for granted and be inspired by that 13-year-old whose heart was made of roses, that 11 year who kept going, that 5-year-old who fell from grace, that 4-year-old keeping their mind, and that little premature infant who never gave up on living who kept going to have a beautiful life such as this. My art journey has been filled with ups and downs, but I love myself; I love my spirit for never giving up on that rainbow we wanted to get to the end to. I'M SORRY FOR WRITING SO MUCH-- but I never do these give away things so I'm glad I did! I wish that everyone who's going through a rough time with their Art Journey love and hope! Hello, I'm Atena! My art journey began almost 10 years ago or so. I was around 9 or 10, and I would doodle dragons on my notebooks in school to pass time, since I used to play a lot of Dragon City at that time. I was a lonely kid, and suffered a lot of bullying, so that was what I had to do to help me. I met a friend in school who introduced me to fandoms, and that's when I started to kick in in art. Drawing sonic OC's, making FNAF MSpaont art, Undertale ships, and the sorts. After a while, I started to notice how diverse my surroundings were, and how I always went back to drawing the same emo looking girls with straight hair and slim bodies. And thats where I got my first goal of art: to make my drawings, characters and stories as diverse as I could, and acknowledging of all sorts of people. That led to me meeting people, including my fiance, led to me making characters that are my life, and helping me express myself. Led to amazing things in my life, like meeting a famous Brazilian band I was a fan of, being part of a small zine creating group and even being part of a marketing group for a high school shop. Nowadays, my art has turned to a semi-realistic style, still with heavy anime influences. I do mostly fanart and am part of the yumejoshi community on Tumblr and was also part of that community on Twitter. I am in the ever long processes of making my own webcomic, focusing on darker themes, criminal organizations and psychological drama, and am studying to become an art therapist, since that is what helped me during middle school. My Twitter handle is @AtenaMiss, but I also have a writing heavy Tumblr @miss-atena

@Thatotherfurry I have been making drawings since I was very young, some of them with incomprehensible scribbles on them since I hadn’t even learnt how to write yet. Since then I’ve kept doodling, and am bow a few years into my graphic design studies. I have been making my own Christmas and birthday cards for a few years now as I feel that it’s also nice to make it more personal.

As a child i started drawing the moment i was given anything with coloring ability, at first i did it to express myself and make other people happy eventually it became my escape and led to my joy in a bleak world to which I've been a part of and later on in life it became my everything. I do tattoos and manga but have been branching out every chance I have. That was atleast until last year when my home was bought out from underneath me and i had to sell everything i owned just to survive. I lost my art tablet and lived in my car most of last year, I'd given up on everything and took an envelop and just started drawing little by little until i was happy enough to pick up the shambled shell of myself and move forward. Being able to share my love of art and my journey has been fun. Thank you for reading this journey.

Hello! I'm new to your channel and absolutely love your jelly style drawing! The blending of the piece makes everything look soft! My art journey started many, many eons ago.. No, I'm joking! It wasn't that long ago! :) Bare with me a bit, I feel that background is important when explaining any type of journey, so I'll do my best to give a summary of mine! When I was around five years old, back in the early 90s (around 30 years ago), I drew an oddly proportioned fanart of Aladdin, my favorite Disney character at the time. My mom LOVED it! She still brags about that drawing! I found my first supporter on my journey and like most of us, that supporter was one of my parents. Eventually I became interested in Sailor Moon, which caused some very interesting pieces, to say the least.. I moved onto other anime and did not attempt realistic art until I was around sixteen. All of my art was done within my limited knowledge and technique, so you can imagine that it was bad! Absolutely terrible! However, my love of the process is what kept me creating for so long. The stress relief, the hyperfocus, the satisfaction when you see that you created something that wasn't half-bad! I am now a mother of two and have been through unfortunate circumstances off and on that led me to become homeless around the time I attempted realism. I never had the chance to graduate high school, despite having good grades and placing in advanced courses. When I provided more stability for myself, I earned my GED (this was when my first child was almost one years old) while working as an office manager for a sales company, a job that kept us alive and paid the bills. Art was placed on the backburner as I did not have much time for myself between being a mother, a wife, and an employee. I hated working there and would eventually be let go due to the company relocating (a blessing in disguise). This happened in 2018 and shortly after, I learned that I had cervical cancer. This part of my life was hard to handle and while my mental health quickly deteriorated, I thought that since I was not certain of the future, I should do what I want. I began to draw again and regained my passion for art! While still not great at it, I learned to be patient and spend more time on my drawings. This helped me exponentially and I was able to draw things that looked closer to reality, though still a bit off. Most of my art had been done through pencil drawings, but I branched out to digital art with a cheap tablet (XOPPOX) which allowed me to learn many basics. I found that I enjoyed the ability to erase mistakes without destroying my art as there was no paper to tear holes into! I also enjoyed color experimentation, blending, and all of the perks digital art provides in comparison to traditional art. Eventually, I was able to have surgery and recover from cancer, though lost my ability to have more children (which was fine as I have two amazing kids already who are my biggest fans). This situation gave me a new perspective on life, which allowed me to live instead of only exist. Fast forward to today! I'm currently in my second quarter of college and attend Art 102 (Drawing). My mom still supports me and has been helping with my 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son while I work to improve myself. I've learned various techniques in the first four weeks of the class that have helped me improve and build my confidence in my abilities. While I have no idea what I plan on doing as a career, I feel that I may end up choosing to pursue a degree in the arts, potentially game or other illustration related pathways. My journey has been thirty years long, but for some reason, it feels like it has just begun! Twitter @KoofWa

hiya :) im bleu! i can't believe ive been drawing for 4 years now. everything started w an argument with my parents, its simply about how they dont see art as a way for living. i know, i know. its that cliche story again where artist proves her parents wrong. everything was hard. i struggled with payment options, with valid ids, with my run down phone from years ago but i grew my account. i cant really say its up to the point where i can rely on it but i get constant commissions and income. oh! mind you that i was a traditional artist first before me loving digital. from that moment, i knew that proving them wrong was a good thing for me. now, im still studying and still striving for making art as my source of income. its honestly such an agonizing thing to only thing about the money so i try to draw things a lot enjoyable for me by doing fanarts and personal ones. once i got a hang of everything, i then proceed to conquering more art topics including perspective and anatomy. i love people and i hate drawing structures for real. thats something that i need to work on still. that's all for my art journey! from the goal of proving my art's worth to my parent, to now proving my worth to myself. i draw for myself now, and its beautiful thing that i can help my family along it :)) thats all thank you!! my twitter handle is @persemonn btw!

Hi! I'm new here, and actually found you because I was looking up reviews on this tablet after seeing an ad. My art journey started when I was a kid, but I didn't really take drawing more seriously until I was like 10-ish. I even attended an art-focused high school for 2 years, from 16-18. Sadly, this was not the right choice for me (I feel like we all know how pretentious and hurtful the art world can be). It took away my love for drawing, and I quit drawing for a while. I started again after realising that in anything you did, you were likely to encounter rude people telling you you were bad at what you did. So you might as well do what you enjoy doing. I especially like digital art, because I find the process less messy than any traditional art. I'm about to graduate college (as an English and history teacher) and was hoping to start saving for a tablet I could easily travel with, maybe take to work with me so I would be pushed to draw more. I don't have the space on my desk to constantly keep my current drawing tablet plugged in to my computer, and sometimes I just want to draw while sitting on my bed or on the couch. Anyway, thank you for hosting this giveaway! My Twitter handle is @verliese_art

Hi there! My journey is a weird one, I think. First of all, I'm a "late bloomer"--well, I wouldn't say I've bloomed yet, so I suppose that remains to be seen :). While I've always been super interested in art (I first fell in love, as a little kid, with paintings (particularly epic/naturalistic paintings (don't recall the artists) that I saw in museums when my parents would take me), my first love (that I actually pursued actively) was music, and I was dead-set on becoming a musician from a young age (I was too busy with music to really give art a shot) until I was forced to give it up (life circumstances, don't worry, I won't go into it, except to say that part of it included hand injuries, which made it literally impossible to continue playing my instruments--until very recently)--so there was a void, which I tried to fill by finally getting into visual art; it's been difficult and slow because I couldn't gain access to hardly any educational resources (I barely ever had access to the internet) nor materials to learn what I needed to learn for many years, but, while I was often almost hopeless, I never gave up and now I am determined to make art my life (whether I succeed at making it my career or not). I've moved countries, so I am now in a better place and can actually learn things! (now that I have access to the internet and some basic materials). So while it's still going to be slow, I am hopeful that I now have a fighting chance at a decent life--one where I can pursue my passions, which include (but are not limited to xd) "traditional" and digital drawing/painting/sculpting/animation (2D, primarily). Before this year, I had never posted any work online, because I thought it would only hurt me to share what I didn't consider worth sharing--i.e. work that wasn't at least as amazing as the work of the many artists I've admired for ages. But I'm on my own journey and so is everyone else--nobody should expect me to create great work just yet.... Anyway, I'm easing into it by participating in a daily challenge this month; for that, I've been posting on IG, but I posted one of those on X/Twitter as well a couple of days ago. My username is @pikhexolaf . Thank you so much for the inspiration and for this opportunity! (I've never had a portable tablet, so this would truly be a game changer) :D

Well, let's start from the beginning. A long time ago, when I was a little kid, I liked to watch cartoons, especially on Cartoon Network. My sister was in high school and had a sketchbook. I would flip through and see what she was doing in her notebook. That's when it all began. I constantly drew what was in my sister's sketchbooks (I must say we were never a well-off family, so I drew with what I had. I didn't want to ask my parents for what they couldn't give me, so I only used a pencil and a notebook). I loved drawing even the smallest details of those Looney Tunes characters she always made. As time went by, it was time for me to go to high school-new subjects, new challenges, and of course, the art class was part of the package. Thanks to this, I was able to revive that passion for creating, being creative, and experimenting. I drew characters that appeared on DVD covers, like Goku. I even painted Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' and made a very cool stained glass of a church. Time passed; I moved to another country, and for almost 5 years, I've been learning techniques and fundamentals to help me create what I desire to bring to life: my characters. I've only created a few that have never seen the light, but everything starts somewhere. In the last year, I managed to buy a Tab s6 lite and enjoyed it a lot. I drew, animated, and even read manga on it in the morning. Then, my father was unable to work for about 3 months, and the bills had to be paid. There was no choice but to sell it, and with the money, pay the bills. Now we're going through a similar situation, and I can't get money to buy a new tablet. It would be amazing to win the XP Pen tablet.

My mom always told me that she knew I'd grow up to be an artist because I drew so much as a kid and was always so meticulous when coloring in coloring books. I drew a lot of comics when I was younger and my first fandom was MLP, but I didn't actually start taking drawing seriously until I was around 12. I've had a rough journey with art since high school and for the past 6 or 7 years I've drawn off and on with varying consistency, always berating myself for not being dedicated or for never finishing works I've started. I used to want to do art professionally but I realized it would be better to remain a hobby for me, albeit a hobby that is very much a major part of my identity. I've only fairly recently become more confident in the works I make but still have yet to decide if I really want to post anything online. The way social media works now compared to just a few years ago is not very favorable towards artists so I feel like it would be much more difficult to get started now than it used to be. I've been following you for a few years now and you are one of my major inspirations for fluidity, style, and character design. It's been wonderful to see how much you've not only grown as an artist but as a person as well, and to see your own journey in becoming more self-accepting of your works has been very inspiration for me. I'm excited for the path my own art takes this year and to try my best to improve! Twt handle @nebulapods

Hello! I tried to make a comment earlier but RU-vid kept auto-deleting it because I typed too much :') But my art journey is: I started drawing as a kid because of school assignments. Things like drawing family photos and painting paper mache masks. Then I saw one of my classmates drawing and thought it was cool, so I tried doing the same thing. I ended up watching a lot of animated shows and movies, so I drew those characters and tried learning their art styles. I continued to draw over the years and ended up being one of the art kids, which made me feel thankful for having supportive classmates but pressure for anything that was art-related. Whenever I drew something and it didn't end up well, or when I ended up being bad at things like pottery and animation, I felt disappointed with myself. But I continued to draw and began to go from drawing traditionally in art class and in my notebooks, to drawing digitally with a mouse and then an app on my phone. I continued to draw digitally for a couple of years but then I hit a bit of a slump. All of my drawings ended up being incomplete because they'd either take too long to draw (hours and hours) or they weren't good enough so I'd scrap them and start a new one, only to scrap it again. I stopped showing my art to other people since it was incomplete, and friends and others went from calling me "an art kid/person" to "wait, you draw?". Throughout that time I still watched art videos and looked at art on social media, which helped me feel inspired and learn more. (Which includes you, so thank you!) I'm still in that slump after a few years, but I'm still making efforts to get out of it. I went from finishing a couple of drawings a month as a kid to finishing a couple of drawings a year as an adult. But I've been sketching traditionally a couple days a week, and drawing digitally every couple of weeks. Even if I don't complete a drawing, or I do but am not satisfied with it, I still consider the process of drawing as progress towards improving. Now, for my future art journey, I hope to build a comfortable workflow where I can draw faster and finish drawings more often. I also hope to improve and learn more things in general - like how to draw backgrounds and landscapes (which I took for granted as a kid, but can add so much life to a scene and a story's worldbuilding), how to draw in a semi-realism art style (which includes the jelly art style coincidentally, but I'm also interested in styles with ink/painterly textures like comic books, Spider-verse, Arcane, etc., and oil/gouache paint too), and how to use digital art tools (like blend modes (I learned recently that overlay can make things glow!), gradation maps, grayscale to color, etc.). But those goals are probably for the far, far future. I'll try to wrap this up now, sorry for typing so much! (Edit! Removed my @)

My art journey is honestly a little disappointing... since childhood i always loved cartoon and loved drawing them... like a lot...my older sister also used to love drawing...we used to compete with each other in summer holidays...but as years passed by... she just give up on drawing to focus on her studies...but i didn't which upset my mom saying that art won't be useful for you... anyway i did continue drawing but not too much... waiting from holiday to another..... years passed and I got on college but my mom didn't approve me going to an art college... and so it happened and i didn't go to one...my freshman year was literally depressing for me.. but i kept drawing though...i don't know i still feel better drawing...but i honestly really wanted to try to get a tablet to draw digitally but i couldn't save up for one... prices here just keep going up and up ... and till now i couldn't get even a tablet.. and don't know what to do...i feel like my dream or hobby is really useless... I don't really post on my tweeter 9158_id...but i have some drawings on my IG 9158_id ...umm do you guys know anyone who giveaway tablets?.. please?

Thanks for a wonderful review. Ive been looking into buying a portable tablet so I can be more social while drawing! My art journey started when I was around 16? I was doing art in school and making animations on this channel as a hobby. When I did my A-levels (high school in America, I think?), I was originally planning to do Psychology or Law, but after failing by one grade to get into the university I originally wanted- I took a gap year! During which I discovered my true calling was animation. So I applied to a different university, managed to get a place. And it was the best time of my life! No regrets. I learned so much, took a huge humbling, made some incredible friends. I am very fortunate enough to say after I graduated I now have an animation role in the Games industry!! I think I always knew animation and art was what I wanted to pursue, but reality has a way of making dreams stay that way. I feel very fortunate that my risk went well, I know the industry isn't always kind. I am really enjoying reading other peoples stories tho, its super lovely to have a community

Why the heck not So my art journey, started in about 2018 after i graduated high school, i was kinda of disastisfied with my life so i decided to pick up drawing which is something i always was interested on but never put much time outside of small doodles in school and some pixel sprites i did for a pokemon fangame when i was 14-15 lol . I was going to college to an unrelated major so i tried to draw and post on the side and i even did some extremely cheap commissions that i mostly did to keep myself motivated (i used a mouse and did pixel art back then) but i kept growing disastisfied with my major and the path i was taking with uni so i dropped out and decided to work a full time job on a call center while focusing more on drawing to hopefully one day making a living out of it. I worked for about a year and a half and learned a lot since i started using a drawing on a cheap graphic tablet , turns out drawing with a mouse didnt help me much getting used to a pen so i quickly noticed how much i needed to learn + also using social media to post made me insecure sometimes, its hasnt been very easy and i wanna learn so much more, i also moved out to a small apartment with my job earnings. One good this is that on mid 2023 i finally got the confidence to start trying living of commissions and its been going ... alright, its been weird trying to do this full time but ive learned so much more too. While it hasnt been all happy im very glad i chose this for my path though and its been very rewarding, i do not only wanna keep doing this but i wanna become a great artist and even one day being as experienced as you and other artist i really admire, i always love seeing your stuff. My twiiter is @TippytoeCanid (side account, not my main art since i prefer to keep it private)

English is not my native language, so I used a translator to help me write, I'm sorry if any grammatical errors will catch your eye. As corny as it may sound, it all started from childhood. Although I'm not sure how much this can be considered an accurate beginning, because at that time it was not something conscious. It's even sad that going back to the old years, you realize that back then you painted solely for yourself and for pleasure, did not think that somewhere the anatomy is not correct, that you can't decide on some drawing because you don't draw well enough or that your own style again brings discomfort. Now I have been consciously drawing for 7+ years, mostly my characters and the characters of my friends. I would probably like to say more not about the experience of drawing itself, but about what drawing has brought to my life during this journey. I met a huge number of people, of course most of them are already in the past, wonderful people have met, and there have been quite the opposite of this. All the closest people who surround me now are found precisely because I am engaged in drawing, in fact, this opens the way to many places, some very local, some on the contrary very large. And now, looking at the major popular artists, I understand that there are still many things ahead that I have not tried, and which one day I would really like to achieve. My skill is considered average, for some it may even be above average, but I'm going to stop there and try to get better every day, sometimes I have to overcome myself. Your videos and works inspire me very much! At one time, I accidentally stumbled upon your RU-vid channel, and who knew that redrawing the Jacko-pose challenge would lead to a full viewing of all the videos on the channel and this would pull me out of creative stagnation? I'm still reviewing some videos a few times and looking forward to new ones, running into streams whenever possible. Without too much flattery, I am really grateful to you for the work you have done, then how simply and more friendly than a mentor you explain what and how you do really helps! I haven't posted my work on Twitter for a long time and I'm on other social networks, but I'll leave it anyway @slpybandito

Ok, I'm going to try this, but my English isn't the best... So, my artistic journey started when I was 4 years old, spending most of my time making comics AND drawing in general. Then I lost the habit because I considered those drawings horrendous, but in high school I met others who really like to draw, so I took it as a starting point, after that my drawings were acceptable, but what really made me draw every day , it was at the university, because there we had to create short films in several courses, and I didn't have money to buy a camera, lights, microphone, etc... So, what other way is there to make short films without a camera AND a lot of money? Animation! With that all I needed was a lot of paper, pencils and a strong will. The person who helped me the most from that point on was my grandfather since he had studied arts and he gave me his old drawing materials, and even helped me make my own animation desk. Even today I still animate traditionally with pencil and paper. With a tablet like that, it could be much faster not to mention the lack of nerves about wasting material on bad frames. @martinfalconb

My art journey started with the ad at the end of a Power Rangers VHS tape. Made me want to draw for the first time. Despite physical debilitation like cramps, I've never stopped and hope I never will. My art journey is at a stage where I'm trying to take art less seriously so I can (ironically) do it more freely. To tie your self worth and identity to art is paralyzing and unhealthy. I love art but perfectionism and brutal self standards are making it so hard to do. So I want to think of art like something I do, not part of who I am. Art does give me joy and fulfillment when I do it. The struggle I have isn't art's fault. It's mine and it's on me to work through it. I will cause it means that much to me. @MaAlGon3

I've only started back up again because of arrtx I won my very first set of alcohol markers from them a couple of years ago and just utterly fell in love with the medium and it got me to start up drawing semi-regularly again

It really looks like a great piece of equipment. As a graphic designer and part time airbrush artist, I'm sure something like this can help a lot. I hear it more and more from artists that we should not compare ourselves to other artists but it is difficult especially if you know you started your trips together and they are so far ahead of you. But like they say, It's the journey that's the reward, not the destination. @andreevanwyk

Great video! I'm gearing up to reviving my art journey which has been a rollercoaster most of my life! Now as I am about to turn 60, it's become a way to express my life journey - writing, drawing, painting to get to know me better and to share some hopefully fun and cool thoughts, ideas and questions with the world. @finolajc @islandeffect

hi, im sage. i started drawing in primary school when i was ten and kept doing it on and off ever since. I'm 17 now and I'm doing my a levels with art but my family is broke so i my art supplies mainly consisted of crayola markers and pencils. we've had to move around a lot due to neglect from the council that got so bad that we were kicked out of our house because it was deemed unsafe to live in and after that i really got more and more into art (they actually wrote a news article about us which i can send), but I'm glad now because at school I'm doing arguably the best in my art classes and i would really love to have something portable as my family moves around a lot

@W1NGL3SSM0N4RCH : my art journey start when i was around 5? i think ive always loved drawing and always knew its what i wanted to do, i contemplated quitting a few times but i ended up getting over it. Its taken me awhile to be comfortable enough in my practice to try new things, and when i finally did i ended up getting into an art school near me, and so far the classes are great!

its crazy the amount of toxicity i've seen lately around the art community this past half year, most of that drama coming from tiktok, it seems to be one big art community focused way more on drama than they do on their own art journey there. I personally love drama and a bit of gossiping here an there not gonna lie 💀 but i have noticed all of these trash content plus the Ai wave has affected me and decreased my motivation to draw so from a few month ago now i have been focusing more on my own art and improving my fundamentals not caring so much about socials and drawing things i feel like to. I do plan to go back on posting my work on social later on since i would really like to live off something i genuinely enjoy doing like drawing and the exposure you get in these platforms is really important for that to happen. @jeancgvv
