I just wanted to thank you for your channel. I'm currently getting chemo for breast cancer and can't eat or taste much and your videos are keeping me going! I love watching your excitement for food and I've started making a list of things I want to be sure to eat and try once I'm better based on the things you eat!
Good video Mikey! Sorry to hear you had bad service here 😢 I would highly recommend visiting the UK outside of London, and making trips to local pubs and restaurants. It's a very different experience! 😊
I don't know what interactions Mike specifically had, but I went to that same restaurant on Monday and the service was exceptional. Without exaggeration: the best service I've ever had anywhere. They clearly put a substantial amount of effort into their service, so I'd love to know what happened with Mike.
Visited the restaurant for Dinner on a Saturday night, even though I didn't book and it was busy they managed to find a seat for us. The service was amazing and we were well taken care of for the night.
Theres so much more to England than London. I love the mixture of foods from different cultures combined tho in London..it would be nice to see you go to Scotland as well Mikey for sea food. The freshest seafood I've ever tasted. My Dad used to go fishing and catch fish for dinner as kid growing up for the family in Scotland. You cant get fresher than that.
@@SimonOerslund without proof how is it fair to a business to accuse them of this? Running a restaurant business in London is extremely difficult in this financial climate. Unfair acccusations from an influencer with millions of followers is extremely cruel
@@SimonOerslund He needed to put his money where his mouth is and name the problems. How is the restaurant supposed to respond if he only makes vague accusations? Very unfair.
For Mike to appreciate the food after being treated with bad service, that shows strength in character. That’s why we watch your videos. Keep up the positive vibes 😊🙌🏼💪🏽
UK isn't for soft people I guess. If the person is a cunt to you, be a cunt back. We went to London for a week, it was fun. It's not a place for the easily offended though, that's for sure.
@@jeremyalexander9761 I have family that lives there. The food is $hit. Fish and chips, curries, and Sunday roast. At least in the U.S. we steal other people's culture (food) and perfect it. ❤️😂
British food is amazing. The only people that slate it are Americans that are still living off stereotypes from ww2. They're just ignorant and should be laughed at.
@@sneer0101 fully agree. I’m British living in America and those who have visited or lived in England, talk so badly about our food but never actually visited the right places to try food. It annoys me to no end. I don’t talk crap about them or their food!
The red wine vinegar sauce is mignonette sauce. It is a condiment usually made with minced shallots, cracked pepper, and vinegar. It is traditionally served with raw oysters.
@@MrShepardDog Prove it. It's super easy to make baseless claims. Edit:. I didn't even mention that this restaurant is in the UK, where you do not tip because unlike the US, they pay their staff. So yeah, you're full of it.
Getting tips is not what you do in London. You pay the service charge which is already on the bill if you ask you can take it off but very rare people do that.
I wouldn't call the pile of meat you had a sunny roast , as a sunday roast has meat, roast potatoes, carrots /parsnips/peas/ cabbage Yorkshire pudding and lots of gravy :)
I had to laugh soooo hard, I'm sorry Mikey. When you said creme fraishe, my mind instan went to south park. Yes, I'm a terrible person.. and laughed soo hard. I live for Randy..
That's a giant plate of mixed grill. Not a Sunday roast. Sunday roasts in the uk are taken very seriously and has to have certain things.. The mixed grill however looks amazing
Let me know when your in the UK next Mike please I will gladly cook you a proper home cooked roast dinner with roast beef Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings….you’ll see what your missing, that was not in anyway a Sunday roast your stuck in tourist territory my good man we call that a mixed grill 🤣
I love this guy appreciate how he trys local dishes...i am sure there are people in Asia thinking what we are when he has tryed a local dish.....mike u need a proper roast not a mixed grill . Yorkshire puddings are life
If you like lamb chops, come to New Zealand. It’s only around 9 hours from Singapore and you’ll get not only the BEST lamb chops in the world, but some INCREDIBLE kaimoana (seafood) Come visit us!!!!
Mikey the mixed grill looked lush but a Sunday dinner without roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings and multiple veggies is just utter confusion 😕 come back again third time lucky!!!
Thanks for being honest about the service, sometimes they need to be called out. It's still a job even if your whole family works there and they may hate it
Looks so good Mike, I had to take a look at their menu online. They do have a Sunday Roast, on Sunday. Maybe you can come back and try again. We certainly won’t complain. Lol
That is in no way a Sunday roast, it's a mixed grill, an incredible one but it's a mixed grill even if it is roasted, I guess mixed roast, but it's certainly not a "Sunday Roast". It's missing every ingredient but the meat and the gravy.
It was a mixed grill (or "all in") from the Blacklock weekday menu. The Sunday menu has Yorkshire Puddings, roast potatoes, & veggies. He must've either gone during the week or (as he mentioned in the video), as it was near closing, they might've run out of the Sunday menu. But it's not their Sunday roast. Edit: right at the end of the video he says "Sunday roast but not on a Sunday" so it was just the standard mixed grill.
I’ve been to Blacklock in the last six months and it was really good - they do a sort of “all you can meat” offer that’s really good value for money. What you had wasn’t a roast though. Just a mixed grill with some sides
He did say it was near the end of the day. So it might be that they had sold out of the roasts & reverted to their normal menu? But either way that's not their Sunday Roast.
Where's the Yorkshire pud? I prefer roast chicken. It's a mixed grill...pork is cheap so I understand but it's not a proper roast dinner. Looks delish but mis-labelled
Hey Mikey! Love your content and watch it all the time. Quick tip, when you're in Europe, switch your cameras to 50hz to get rid of the weird syncing of the lights.
I know your not there now, but somewhere in London there is a place that is putting a Sunday Roast in a yorkshire pudding. Sorted Foods and Jolly (channels) have said they were amazing, between their food reviews and yours.. I so wish I could sell a kidney to travel to London for the food. Oh another place to try if your ever back in London is a restaurant called Fallow.
Thanks for visiting the UK! The French call us Rostbif (The Roast Beefs) for a reason. The UK used to be famous for its meat quality and the current memes downplay that!
I would say that was not a Sunday Roast. Sunday Roast is roasted meat, with at least 2 veg and trimmings depending on the meat. What you had was what we'd call a mixed grill.
I’m sorry that’s a plate full of “roasted” meat not a SUNDAY ROAST DINNER! From everyone in the UK! We take roast dinner very very very seriously here! Hahaha
@@hirolla74 Let him eat what he wants. It's just 2min of the whole video and you are complaining? As any part of the world, there are different cuisine that's being offered, so getting ramen in london is not rare. Do better than complain.
Food looks great. But that wasn't a Sunday roast dinner in any way shape or form. It looked and I'm sure tasted great, but you really need to try a proper Sunday roast dinner.
Next time you visit the UK please visit the lake district, you will definitely get a real traditional Sunday roast dinner 🍽 even if I have to make it myself.
I really recommend finding a Toby Carvery for a more authentic roast, it’s a chain so it’s often overlooked by visitors, but it’s probably as close as you’ll get to the sort of Sunday Roast brits would have at home. Please give it a go on your next visit! ✨
There is a ramen shop near to Tottenham Court Road station - called Kanada-Ya (64 St Giles High Street) Not tried it myself but the queues of Japanese tourists and students an hour before they open is usually a good sign!
Loved the way you enjoyed the lamb, too many people who aren't bought up eating lamb complain that it taste too gamey, even when it's cooked just right, but that lamb looked perfect and you loved every bite
Omg - this giant meat pile is making my inner carnivore start to rumble 🦖 Time to go to a Brazilian BBQ - not the same thing, but cannot go to London :D
Hey Mikey! Be sure to go to Senpai Ramen here in Puerto Rico, once you visit us again. It's the the town of Aguadilla. Pretty good ramen! And also! Visit the town of San Sebastián and go eat at Martir's Sport Bar and De Mi Cosecha in the town of Moca.
I am really living my seafood dreams through your vlogs Mike! 🫶 Do you do any foodplanning prior to your trips or do you decide which places to eat on the day of? 😅
haha yes but it took him a very long time! He has been a travel blogger for literally more than 10 years, to be able to reach the audience that he has now.
Love your hot oil and got the extra spicy even better. Love your videos we watch all the time. But maybe adding the price meals you eat would be helpful on people on a budget trying to travel.
@@MrShepardDog bruh your commenting on every thread something negative about Mikey did he f*** your girl or wine and dine her or something? Chill out cuh lol
You must be new here or you are a troll. Mike never do free food in any restaurant or joints he visited. He doesn't even do sponsors that much unless he really tried and tested it. He also doesn't post videos about a bad restaurant if it's a small business since he doesn't want to ruin anyone's livelihood. He only post videos of him criticizing a bad food if it's a multi million dollar company and his comments won't dent anything. In short, he's never in food blogging for the money. He'll keep doing this even if he's down to a single subscriber.
Hi Mike I watch a lot of your videos but this one you was very excited from beginning to end of your food and restaurants choices I really enjoyed watching you on this one thanks
Mikey I can't stand this any longer. It's 10 minutes after 12:00. I've already walked the dog and I'm laying in bed trying to get ready to go to sleep. You've made me so hungry then I'm going to make myself a second dinner, right now!! 👍👍🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭
Looks delicious. I must tell you a funny story with a "moral" to it. I ate at a fancy restaurant in California and ordered scallops in the shell. After my meal I asked if I could take the shells of my scallops home. The waiter said sure and even gave me a few extra ones from other customers eaten scallops. A few months later I ate at another fancy restaurant in another city. I got scallops in the shell there too. Started to put the empty shell in my purse assuming it would be ok and the waiter freaked out. He informed me that they had obtained some scallop shells that they washed and re-used and the scallops on the shell were frozen ones and said I was stealing their serving shells, seeming as angry as if a customer had tried to put a plate in their purse. So, if you wanna know how honest your five star fish restaurant is, simply ask them if you can take the shells from your scallops home with you as a souvenir.
Oh Mike- the amazing pile of succulent meats is the stuff of my dreams! I was literally salivating watching you totally enjoying that magnificent feast! Thank you so much for sharing your culinary adventures.
Hey mikey! Haven't seen much of Christine these days.. is she suddenly camera shy because I think she is so cute and can probably handle eating as much as you!
