The reason why McDonalds tastes so different in italy is because of the high food standards there. Italians have extremely strict food laws and a lot of stuff that goes into food in the US is mostly illegal in Europe anyway.
McDonald's in Rome was terrible. What great tasting beef patties. New Zealand and Australia. If you think the Maccas is good there, I wonder how bad it is in the States
The “syrup” in the tiramisù you took at the mc cafe was actually coffe. So when you drank the macchiato after you tasted it you literally used coffe to get rid of coffee flavour lol.
Mike Chen's video are literally the opposite of clickbait. "Try McD in Italy"...then bam takes you on a whole Italian journey from gelato to pizza to mcdonalds.
That's when you know we are doing good for him and him liking us. This guy want to do this for he's career and not on the side.Plus he's single so this gives him more time to focus on he's career till he falls in love.
I disagree a little bit, cos he's biased when it comes to asian foods, New York style thin crust pizza, and spicy food. But he is honest, though, although biased towards certain foods, I'll give you that. So, to be clear, I never questioned his honesty, just his judgement, a little bit. Cos he's partial to those things I mentioned. 👍😉
you are living a pretty awesome life traveling all over the world and eating all different kinds of food!! I'm really happy for you and I enjoy watching it.
Shandra9000mail Oh my God... So since you didn't like the food of a restaurant, you ate at stupid American food chains? You ruined the experience, you had the opportunity to try the real Italian food... This is the dumbest thing I've heard this week, I'm sad for you
Shandra9000mail But why didn't you try another restaurant? It makes me throw up to think eating at McDonald's and Burger King for more than once a month... Also where did you go in Italy?
Shandra9000mail Did you eat carbonara? Maybe the eggs weren't pasteurised, you should have tried a better restaurant ;) If you want some advice from me, go to Naples for the best pizza (Pizzeria Da Michele is the most loved pizzeria), Emilia-Romagna (Especially Bologna) for the best lasagna or tortellini, Sicily for Cannoli, Genova for Paccheri alla Genovese. And most importantly, do some research because many restaurants make overpriced terrible food just for the tourists!
I have a friend from Paris. He misses the McDonald's there. He hates the McDonald's here in Canada. He told that the McDonald's in France work together with local farmers. Everything is fresh everyday
The pastry in the mc cafè come in frozen uncooked and then they cook them on the moment. They are of the low quality kind, they are very sad croissants but what is sadder is that some of the local bar have that kind too porcoddio
Yeah, exactly. They're sweeter and with a more dense dough. And cornetto as been invented before the croissant, was made by bakeries in the Veneto region. The french baker whom pulled out a croissant in Paris for the first time had been right in that Italian area couple years before the croissant showed up, and copied that recipe from Italians. Btw, the first version of this cornetto- croissant kind of pastry is Austrian. So if there is an originary place , that's neither France nor Italy, but Austria.
Awesome video! I just wanted to tell you that it is a cornetto and not a croissant, they have the same shape but cornetto is made with more sugar less butter, and we eat that usually only for breakfast with some fillings too (nutella or jams).
I can confirm that the beef in the burgers over there is really really really gooood. Italy and France and for some reason czech mcdonald's burgers are a bit on the pricey side but so worth it.
I don't know about other places in Europe, but in Croatia there's this lineup of burgers in Mcdonalds called "Maestro burgers", there's about 5-6 kinds and they actually have ANGUS BEEF patties, they're freaking delicious, so beefy, juicy and thick paddies, fresh local grown vegetables, etc.
I was in Italy a couple of years ago and the tour guide said Italy has a large system of free public toilets and pointed to the McDonalds. Needless to say Italians don't really eat there!
Guess to them McDonald’s is just food chain I wouldn’t mind trying it tried Burger King at Vietnam I prefer American the breakfast I think they put barbecue sauce it threw me off I think in my mind never again
In Italy many young guys go to McDonalds, it's a fashion and a question of prices. The raw material is of quality. In Italian homes you eat something else and for the kids go to McDonald's has become a status quo ...
So...what you are saying is that American McD is essentially the stuff they shovel off the floor of other countries McAnimal pens? Thanks for spreading the word! RE McNugget: "I can actually taste some chicken in this." Can something be sad and funny at the same time?
Wow what a completely different menu Italy has there a]at McDonald’s, those croissants look good, the chocolate one especially 😍 the crispy Mac Bacon looks yum. Great video Mikey
Watching all the Mcdonald's videos that you post. Amazing content I worked at Mcdonald's in Canada and it's interesting to see what they serve in other countries.
Croissants in Italy is called Cornetto and is normally less flaky...a little "breadier" then a French croissant. And it's is going to be a little sweeter as they normally put a sweet glaze on the Cornetto after it is baked. :) Just an FYI! Love your videos!! :)
One of my most memorable food experiences was in McDonald's in Paris where I tried a Daim Mcflurry. I was in heaven. My second memorable food experience was when I first tried Prawn Laksa, which is still my favourite dish.
Can you put all your Italy tour into one section-like under Italy adventure please?🙏🏻 For me to refer back to.... I have hot off the press mews....ive said it a few times on ur Italian adventure-well,I went and booked an Italian Mediterranean cruise next year.4/5 port stops in Italy.omgosh...it’s happening.one of my lists about to come true. Thankyou mikey ☺️🙏🏻👍
He is a great food reviewer. Just love the way he gives the details, direct and simple. Only thing I feel sad about is, such delicious food and I can just see them, but can't taste them!!!😭😭😭
Love your stuff Mikey.. always entertaining, informative, and mostly fun. Keep up the great work. As always it amazes me how McDonald’s all over the world has much higher standards for food than in the U.S. Perhaps consumers worldwide are more discerning than Americans and McDonald’s simply needs to compete at a higher level. I would guess food culture, including higher quality food is more of a birthright in places like Rome, Paris, etc....thoughts? Thanks again for the time and effort you put into all your work.. I understand the work, time, and dedication you give...
I rarely go to McDonalds but if I do, I only have a coffee there. Here in Vienna, McCafés have very good coffee, made with professional Italian espresso machines (Cimbali).
Mikey, one of these days you need to come to Australia and try the burgers at Maccas, especially the Angus beef burgers or (during summer here) the McOz!
I feel like McDonald’s in different countries (than the US) are treated as more than just a fast food restaurant. They take so much pride in their food.
Next time in Rome please don't go to crappy McDonalnds, go instead in Trastevere and Testaccio, and try to eat there. Try amatriciana, carbonara, pizza in pizzeria "Da Remo", visit the restaurant "Da Bucatino" and try "coniglio alla cacciatora" there. Then you probably will understand what is true roman cuisine :)
McToast at McDonald’s is a breakfast time must have (or a must have side order if you’re fortunate enough to have breakfast items available all day) McToast is just so amazing in all its simplicity! One of my favorite side orders when going to McDonald’s here in Sweden is their Chili cheese tops, and I don’t even like chili but those are really just very mild jalapeño poppers and the spice level is like green paprika basically. If you visit Sweden, going to a MAX burger restaurant is a must try! It’s a burger chain like McDonald’s and Burger King only with higher quality of everything and different flavors than the American origin restaurant chains. MAX has really nice fries too, including their fries with cheese, bacon and jalapeño on
In Toronto they don't even clean the soft drink machine, and one time I ordered a quarter pounder and they forgot the patty, love Canadian rotten Ronnie's.
The chicken nuggets in Rome are sooo good....chicken that they used inside had some sort of a seasoning/grill-esk taste to it. Definitely recommend it ! My favorite one was the airport one 😁
I'm pretty sure he travels with his fiancée. He just carefully edits her out. A while back he was a bit more careless and you would get a glimpse of her in some wide shots or see her hands moving a plate or something. Still, you can see little clues that he is not alone at the various hotels, restaurants, etc. even if he pretends he is. I think he is very determined to keep his life private, and no wonder with all the drama and weirdos that roam around RU-vid. Can't blame him for that.
Pretty sure he eats all the other food at disposal. I love how people act like he seriously just travels to another country and eats ONLY fast food, or seem to think that he only records the times he eats and doesn't eat offscreen.
I like that the Gelato place you can get your own flavors that you like I once had the Gelato from the USA the only part I Eated was the part that didn't have Pistachio since I dislike Pistachio.
When I was younger, cough cough 20 cough cough ago, we used to make grilled cheese sandwiches like that for kids meals when requested. I always made mine with tomato cheese n dehydrated onions. 7:30
For a great burger, come to Redamak's in New Buffalo Michigan... Muhamad Ali was a frequent guest there.. It's opening up soon for only a summer schedule as they do every year..
Lol I was so intimidated by the early morning cafes and my inability to communicate that I went to McD’s every morning at 7am. Surprisingly delicious and WAY better than American
I ate at a Mc Donald’s somewhere between Venice and Pisa. I remember the restaurant itself being very clean and bright but the food was mediocre at best. Mc Donald’s food for me is something to just fill you up.
Thats not how u drink macchiatto!First you put a little sugar in(to your preferrence) and then you mix it until the sugar melts! And the macchiatto becomes incredible
“You know they don’t give you dipping sauce unless you get the chicken strips” -Drake and Josh- only thing I thought of when you dipped the wing in the sauce 😂😂
I went to Rome around the same time as you and I tried the fried chicken as we don’t have that in the UK, I honestly hated it I’m so surprised you liked it! I noticed there was a good amount of seasoning but it just did not taste good in my opinion!!
So funny, you used to be in such big movies, and now you do vlogs around the world testing macdonald's xD What's next ? Jokes on cam in your bedroom ? I like that though !
