Being from America and living in the Philippines for several years... The best part is the apple pies. They haven't changed the recipe or oil here like they have at home. It reminds me of the late 80s McDonald's pies. Perfection. ❤️

If I'm not mistaken, the origins of the "sweet" Filipino Spaghetti is based on our use of Banana Ketchup instead of the traditional Tomato sauce. I think it stems from the fact that not all Filipinos have the luxury of buying Italian sauces and/or our fondness of sweet things
@lunasbix4338
@lunasbix4338 2 года назад
Banana catsup was actually invented by Maria Orosa. Among other things, she noticed that Philippines is heavily reliant on tomato imports and as someone who wanted a self-sufficient Philippines, she invented banana catsup. Of course, as the ingredients are sourced locally, it’s much cheaper to produce that’s why it easily became a staple in Pinoy kitchens.

A La king sauce is usually a roux with chicken stock and some cream or milk added, with peas and carrots and mushrooms. It usually has pieces of chicken in it (unbreaded). It’s served over rice or with bread. It is often served in a pastry shell (called a vol au vent)
