Kampung Baru 🇲🇾 "begedel" or bur-ger-dell is big hit among foreigner/tourists, all of them seem to love it😊 I also like that Wanjo staff also recommending Ayam Rendang n Ayam Masak Merah, popular Malay dish 👍
In malay it is called 'begedil' its a mix of mash potato and beef and then its deep fried..you can get it almost at all malay restaurant, just ask for it
You can actually walk up to the counter, and tell them you wish to "take away" your begedil, and they should be able to pack them up for you, for home snacks, or on the road.
Sardines = Ikan Bilis (Anchovies) Potato & Beef = Begedil/Pegedil Standard Basic Nasi Lemak = Rice cook/infused with coconut milk come with Ikan Bilis, Fried Egg/Hard Boil Egg, Cucumber/Kangkung and Sambal For Malaysian, Nasi Lemak is considered as Breakfast Meal. Most of Breakfast Meal in Malaysia is heavy because our ancestor are working very hard farming, grow paddy etc. They need a lot of energy to sustain from morning to afternoon. But now, we can eat Nasi Lemak all the time. Even 24 hours Mamak Restaurant serve Nasi Lemak. What differentiate one Nasi Lemak to other Nasi Lemak is the Sambal and sometimes the quality of the nasi (the way they cook the Nasi Lemak, the ingredient whether they use original fresh coconut milk or just box coconut milk or the quantity if coconut milk they use...yes, we Malaysian are really particular about our food even to extra detail). There is a lot of famous Nasi Lemak place and each place have their own specialty. For me Wanjo's Nasi Lemak is very good, but there I have my own regular Nasi Lemak place that suit my taste bud and its not famous/viral as Wanjo or Tang Ling Nasi Lemak or Nasi Lemak Village Park.
Check out this restaurant 1. Warung Soho, Hartamas 2. Restoran Kak Som Kg. Baru 3. Restoran Anis Puteri, Pantai Dalam. 4. Warung Ambo, Shah Alam This place you can find an authentic Malay food like Nasi Kerabu & Nasi Dagang...tbh for me Wanjo more like Javanese food lol...
Easy to make too. Just mash potato the way u always do and add in ground beef (not too much coz it's optional), ball it, dunk into egg bath and fry. Another way is instead of beef u can also mix with some chopped spring onion. Some even make it plain with just seasoned potato

@@EoinandAisling : at local 4 main Nasi category you should try :- Nasi dagang with Fish curry, Nasi Kerabu with Beef rendang , Nasi Brinayi with lamb curry.
Nasi lemak wanjo @ original name Wong Jowo, i think the owner is from java indonesia, so its not suprise if their worker is indonesia 👍🏾i went 1 time in this place in 2018 but their stall now look more modern n cool 😀
Don think so. It is Wan Jo, either from Kedah or Kelantan lah. Of course now , most restaurant in KL, majority of their front workers are either Indonesian or Bangladesh.
You guys are so genuine and sweet. I enjoy this informal travelogue presentation format, it's like just chilling with friends. P.s. If you ever plan to go to Sabah East Malaysia, i'll hook you up 👍Cheers!
Hi... welcome to Malaysia. IMO Magic is wrong. That is one place for nasi lemak, BUT not THE best place in Kuala Lumpur. It's just a place that's popular with vloggers. If you can't detect the hint of coconut in your rice, then it's not right.
That potatoes we called it, "Bergedill" it's really delicious 😋 and my favorite!!! If i have a Nasi Lemak, at least I should take 2 piece of "Bergedill"!!! it's super delicious 😋
Go try Chinese breakfast in ICC Pudu...you'll never regret...who knows ...you might have craving for Chinese breakfast after that......do give it a go...
Yup. Its the Indonesian way of saying it. Malaysians can generally tell Indonesians and Singaporeans apart from our own. Its the way they pronounce words and their accent, that gives it away. Its like the difference between Irish, Scottish and Welsh 😊
Anchovies are naturally very small in size, and can be any fish. They are salted and dried out in the sun to get them looking like that. Sardines, are well sardines 😊
@EoinandAisling Get the ingredients right.. It's the national dish.. It's like saying, "What's the difference between pasta and yellow noodles. They're both made out of flour anyway" 🤦🏻
