The “rose” on the rice cake is actually a pickled Sakura (cherry blossom) flower. Pickled Sakura leaves are also used to wrap Sakura mochi, a popular sweet often eaten for Sakura viewing season.

omg this is exactly what i did when i went to japan. i went aisle by aisle and picked out all the foods. it's such a great way to get to know the culture and flavors. everything tasted perfect. the only thing is, not everything fit in the hotel fridge so i just had to binge eat. not complaining.. :)

love these 7 11 reviews. anyone who has been to or lived in Japan knows how important these stores as well as Lawson and AM/PM are on a daily basis.
