It's quite easy fishing for cod to stick to what you know, so we decided to try a couple of new marks. The swells were small so we tried a new rock mark and beach.
Tackle-
Beach Rod- Any Fish Any Where GB FS Pro, 14ft, 120-200g
Reel- Penn Battle III 8000 LC- Daiwa J-Braid, 79lb
Rig- Pennel Paternoster

Was that Thursday night, think I was on the same beach as you, about 250 mtrs to your left. Bites like yourselves, but nowt landed. Beautiful evening with that moon shining and a pleasure just to be out doing what we enjoy. You're right about the Mustard hooks, give you a chance to get your gear back in ruff ground. Nice to catch you in Billy's on Thursday. Arthur.

Still plenty of time for that! I agree hook's that bend out are great, but noy if they dull quickly. Maybe I'm expecting too much!

Still a good video to watch, cheers. Its always good exploring new marks as sometimes it pays off and then its a great reward. One session that mark will come in handy in the right conditions and youll be glad you tied it 🙂 Cheers.

Proper fishing also includes occasionally blanking (or in my case, occasionally catching "a dogfish" 🤣). Thank you for posting the video regardless. Too many tubers wont post if nothing caught. Tight lines Nathan.

Doggies are a rarity up here so I'd take one if it meant I didn't blank😂 As you said though, fishing is fishing and if the outcome is a blank, then so be it, I'm not posting vids to feed my ego or fake being an awesome angler. Eyup Nathan. I'd stand there for the moonlight and very good company. Let Phill know I was asking for him. I'm a Welshman now and that's how it is said in N. Wales as you might know. I'm off down to the beach for a bucket of water to purge the clams I bagged at Llanddwyn yesterday. The Bass have stopped their snooting for worms and the Herrings will arrive soon. Things are good. At least it didn't rain! Have you tried lead lifts on very rough ground? I make my own, I just cut about 2inch kite shapes from a plastic barrel and drill a hole top and bottom.

I haven't tried them, I like to keep things simple (cheap) on the rough stuff but making your own sounds like a good idea

Yeh you have to park on the grass verge before the gate if you night fish - well after 4pm. There's a side gate next to main gate to get to beach

Hi Sophie, I do. For me, the fishing seems to always be poor if there's a bright moon with clear water, fine if the water is coloured, though.
