Fibers seize up or expand, which can tighten or loosen the weave. Things discolor. I’m glad there wasn’t a spider when you opened the box this time!

My wedding was two days..my dresses were blood red and lavender colored and i loved them..no one cares how heavy they are as long as they make you feel beautiful and like a princess on your wedding honestly 😁

It is not a lie: your ribcage can actually grow to accomodate for lung- or breathing issues of all kinds. Doctors can see it on my x-rays, my ribs are further apart than they normally would be because my lungs get squished together by water (chronic illness, no children). My sister tells me she has similar issues. Our bras no longer fit (not the cups, but the band) and other tight clothing as well. She had 3 pregnancies and is completely healthy. Her size has gotten smaller, if anything. The baby squishes the organs and the lungs from below so the body can compensate in a similar way.

I was going to try the dress I ordered but never got to wear on🥺. It didn’t come in in time (this was 25 yrs ago) so I ended up buying a beautiful silk halter dress off the rack at Carson’s for my wedding day!! I made my veil and flowers as well. 💖💖

I’ve never seen a wedding dress from the 80’s that was so gorgeous!! My dress had a French bustle as well. It was heavy but it really was stunning. I tried my dress on about 10 years later, I was still thin but it wouldn’t zip up by my ribs. That was due to pregnancy. If you don’t bind yourself after birth you tend to stay wider due to ligaments softening. Thank You for sharing your wedding with us😁 I know this is a 2 yr old video but happy anniversary anyway 🎉

I would love to do this, except my dress didn't actually fit me that well on the day 😅 It was my fault - I made it (my sewing skills have greatly improved since then) and I'm now aware that I should have adjusted the pattern to have a curvier bust. I'm considering making it into a blessing/baptism dress if I ever have a daughter so that it's still special, because I will never fit into that shape. It's not a bad shape, just not a shape that my body has ever been or ever will be.
my money would be on a mixture of how the body changes w/child birth and the zipper having aged so it isn't nearly as smoother was it would've been back then...?

Material shouldn’t shrink but the thread for the beading definitely does, so with heavy beading yes it will shrink, but that also makes the thread brittle so be careful
You are beautiful as you are. Do you really want to fit in something your teenage daughter can wear? Please do not be disappointed. Most women would be elated to be able to get the dress on after 20 years. I am not being mean, I really am not, but I was wondering can your husband still fit in his tuxedo after 20 years? You’re right, I just found it strange because I weigh the same as I did when I got married. I guess babies do change our bodies.
