Has anyone used the group function with 10 people for a group therapy session? Is there a grid view option so you can see everyone on the screen all at once like you can on Zoom? Otherwise, what is the view you can see on the screen?
If meeting more than one client at the same time, you will need the paid version. For example, a couple calling in on their lunch break from different work places
I utilize this for my practice. My clients find it super easy to use. I pay $35 a month for enhanced features. I like to send my clients a text of the link before the session just as a kind of reminder that we have an appointment.
I used doxy as well. The messenger was a great tool to share links with clients, especially kids! And used the free low resolution quality which worked perfectly!!
I had been using doxy for months. But it wasn't always great, but passable. And now I have had so many sessions where they can see and hear me, but I can't see and hear them. We end up just using phone. This started happening in the past few weeks, and now I need to find a new platform.
Well, my therapist and I have been using doxy once a week for about 6 wks now, and neither of us think it works. We have not had one session where one or both of us DOESN’T just become frozen on the screen and have to figure out what happened and try to reconnect. Several times my mike apparently stops working, she freezes, today we had a 45 minute session instead of 60 just because doxy screwed us up. When it’s working, it’s fine. But for too much of the time, it just doesn’t work. Since these are my therapy sessions, I find it extremely annoying. I’m supposed to be destressing by meeting with my therapist, not stressing because of the app we’re using to communicate with each other. They also don’t appear to have any place on the site to address problems when they happen. She HAS to use it because of her profession and the organization she belongs to, but I think it’s useless.
Oh no! Thats terrible! If that were happening for me I would ditch the app in a heartbeat. That is certainly not fair to you. I don't know the story of your therapists' org, but you deserve proper therapy. I'm so sorry!
Similar experiences trying to use this awful, buggy, mess of a service. Trying to get it all to work has ruined two hard to get appointments with my disabled family member's specialist. Terrible service, company should be banned.
I Love Doxy! Upgraded to the Pro level I can share screen and I'm going to apply for the whiteboard. I hardly ever have problems (tell your clients to NOT use their phone. Many telehealth providers say it will work, but I've found it's sketchy). Also, when I send them their link, I tell them to click on the left side bottom green button "Precall Test" EVERY TIME. That way they can resolve the problems while they are in the waiting room. BTW I do the Precall test EVERY TIME, too
I'm several years on from this vidéo - and I'm assuming/hoping the connexion issues are cleared after the Covid boom. However I am thinking of stepping up yo the paid version because the 240p video resolution is horrendous on the free version: with payment you get 480p or 720p options. Probably you need good internet. Any experiences to share?
I'm glad you mentioned HIPAA secure. I'm sure many providers don't even think about that. Besides that, normally cameras on devices should be kept closed or disabled when not using to avoid hacking. FYI. Unfortunately that's the world we live in.
i have been using the free version for 6 weeks now. It works well, I have a client that wants a joint session with a child that lives in a different part of our state, Can only do that with the pay version. Will update IF we end up doing that. That is the main reason to upgrade. Also need to see if I continue video sessions after the Covid crisis. I always resisted telesessions, but I'm getting used to it now. There a a lot of advantages. I am more willing to meet an unusual client schedule, when I can do it from my home office. Something positive from the Corona crisis.
It is a big adjustment! I'm so glad it's been working well for you! It has for me too, but I'm still hearing a lot of people complain that it hasn't been working. It is certainly a lot easier to squeeze in an "off hours" session if you can just slide it in while you're at home (and wearing pajama bottoms if you're me 😅)
If I share my screen, can I still see my client? I'm a speech therapist. I need to use games online with my clients. Or sometimes show a you tube video. I need to be able to still see them and them see me when sharing...
I know this is an older video and I hope it's ok for me to ask: if I'm already using Therapy Notes for my EHR, is their any advantage to using Doxy over the telehealth platform built in to Therapy Notes?
It's up to you! TherapyNotes has the advantage of being an all-in-one platform, while Doxy has the advantage of not requiring clients to create a portal log in. If you have your clients set up with TherapyNotes portal access, it's likely easiest to meet with them within the platform. Feel free to check out both with a "test" patient (aka a loved one or even yourself) to see what the experience is like and you can choose what you prefer!
I would get the free version and use as a back up. Also, if I'm not mistaken therapy notes does not have telehealth for group sessions. But, im not quite sure if doxy has it either. Someone asked that question. Hopefully, some has or will answer. Just a suggestion...🤗
I found this video while trying to figure out why Doxy does not work. Why cameras fail to work, microphones will not turn on or they turn off mid-visit. Doxy has made a complete mess of two very hard to get appointments with a specialist who treat's my disabled family member. I am frankly disgusted with Doxy, total disaster of a service. Especially so when there are plenty of other services out there that do work, routinely, in my experience.
Oh no, we are sorry to hear that. We'd love to help you find a resolution. Please email support@doxy.me and tell them you got a RU-vid comment from Maggie in Marketing :)
If a patient checks in to the waiting room but the doctor is delayed, can the patient leave their computer or phone screen and get a notice when the doctor is ready?
That’s an interesting question! I definitely don’t know the answer but that would be a great feature. I wonder if that feature might be available with one of the paid options
@@PrivatePracticeSkills Thank you! I will keep trying! Another platform, VSee, has completely suspended their free version; you now must pay. I fear Doxy.me may do the same -- hoping not! Cheers.
If you haven't addressed teletherapy in your consent already, most governing boards do at least suggest doing so if not requiring it. As an example, here's the APA's. guidelines for teletherapy: www.apa.org/practice/guidelines/telepsychology (select Guideline 3: Informed Consent). Hope this helps!
Quite simply, it doesn't work. Fought with that twice trying to get it to work. Even when the microphone button is displayed, it would not work. Doxy is not ready for prime time. My doctor insists the problems are that it is intended for iPhones, not Androids. This I do not accept as other services work just fine between phone brands.
@@mobettuh2483 We are sorry to hear that! We are proudly serving over 700,000 providers and connecting patients to their HCP's is our passion. Hi! You may need to give your browser access to the platform, some browsers have firewalls. Here is a link to a help article that may help you find your resolution! @t
Funny how Doxy found a profile picture of you right away. You did bring up a point that I kind of figured would happen. People using their phones would have to give permission to use their Microphone and Camera in the settings of their device. I didn't find that info on Doxy.net which I believe they should have that on the pages for mobile devices. I haven't used this yet so I don't know if you do get notified when going through through process to get into the waiting room. Thank you for uploading.
It is helpful to know that in advance! I since have told my clients to log in in advance (days or hours before session), and this seems to have resolved the issue.
Oh no! I'm so sorry. I've definitely been hearing this same issue from others too. I'm wondering if I haven't been experiencing these issues because I'm on the West coast and I work evenings - likely not anywhere near peak hours. I haven't heard of Ring Central. Feel free to keep me posted what you think of it!
I had been having lagging videos or no sound - before March- but it got worse once all the telehealth started in full swing. I'm CST. What do you like about Ring Central and the costs?
The free version doesn't offer this feature, but with the paid version there's a dropdown that says "send via..." next to the link and you can select "text message" from the options. However, with the free version you can copy and paste to send to a client's email and they can open the email from their phone. That's how I accessed the link on my phone in the video. Hope this helps!
It’s a good point! The BAA is required to make the software HIPAA secure. It’s up to us to be HIPAA compliant. I speak at length about this in some of my other video about being HIPAA compliant.
A BAA is a Business Associate Agreement. The HIPAA regulations call it a Business Associate Contract. They're really the same thing. BAAs satisfy HIPAA regulations, and create a bond of liability that binds two parties. If one member violates a BAA, the other has legal recourse
@@sandyjohnston4290 I deal with, analyze, modify, accept, reject, and work with BAAs and HIPPA all the time. HIPPA and BAAs aren't related at all. You can have a BAA and a product that isn't HIPPA compliant, and you can have a HIPPA climplaint product that doesn't have a BAA.
Could you clarify - are you wondering if by using a free platform (and potentially from home instead of an office), is it less expensive to offer therapy? I do think so! Let me know if you meant something different.
@@PrivatePracticeSkills Me either John panos...are you asking if the fee for a Telehealth session is less than a 1:1 or face-to-face session? Good question if that's what you're asking🤔
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear. I’ve heard so many problems from others! Somehow, I’ve dodged all of them and it’s still working like a charm. It’s a bummer so many have had issues. Hope you found a better alternative that’s been working for you!
It got unstable on me with poor audio quality on 2/4 calls. Other two calls were good. It has a feature to check broadband, and that test showed mine was not good. I assume that Private Practice Skills has better internet quality than mine? Definitely good to check out (testing is available on the free version).
@@rosigoldsmith4651 Yes! My office has BOMB WiFi. Also, I had a convo with the CEO of VSee recently and he said all the platforms struggle during peak usage hours. Basically, the hours of the day when people on both coasts are logged in makes for bad calls. In the state of CA, those hours are around 10:00am-2:00pm. If you can avoid those times, you might have better luck. Since I'm on the west coast and I only work evenings, I may have accidentally dodged the bullet since most people in the US are asleep when I'm working!
My understanding is that you’re not able to. I’m not sure if a paid option might allow you to? 🤷♀️ but Google Meet does allow more than one person. I have a video on that - just make sure you G Suite is HIPAA secure! (Though the HIPAA rules are currently relaxed)
I've tested out using is as the client on my phone, but not as a provider. Did you check that both your smartphone software and your smartphone browser are updated? That often solves a lot of problems! Also make sure you allow access to your camera and microphone.
Private Practice Skills...... I guess I’m too old to get the learning curve here. What ended up working was enabling cookies. I had them shut off because of the diet Thing . Guess I need those to make it work. Flawless now!
Oh no! Check out my latest video - I go over Google Meet as an option and also the HHS released some seriously relaxed rules around HIPAA. I share that update there too. I hope you find the right route soon!
I used doxy.me for the first time last week with no problems. Yesterday, upon logging in and connecting with client, the video image of me showed my face/head as if I had turned it to one side when I was looking straight into the screen. I could see my client’s face straight on perfectly. Has anyone else experienced this, and, if so, does anyone have any recommendations on how to fix this? Thank you.
Hi! Might have been a delay in your internet and captured the image at the not-so-right moment! help.doxy.me/en/articles/3317125-update-camera-and-mic-drivers
NPI numbers are public! You can access any provider's NPI on the national registry with just their first and last name - it's part of how we show we're legit.
