I’ve purchased 2 artify Quill brushes…then got 2 replacements bc the ferrules were so loose and the first 2 started losing bristles by the 2nd time I used them. I WILL say they sent me two new ones, no need to return the first ones. Unfortunately, the larger one I got as a replacement-same exact issue. These were squirrel hair brushes, not synthetic, and they offered me a pretty large discount on their full squirrel set. Because of the issues with the quill brushes plus, reading reviews-I declined. I LOVE the smaller quill that’s still holding together, BUT a. I already have a lot of good brushes, both Western and traditional Chinese-none of which I worry about leaving hairs on my paintings. And b, the fact it’s obvious by reviews that this is an ongoing issue they haven’t resolved yet-bothers me. I WAS looking at a smaller, synthetic set they had of miniature brushes for multimedia and really small details…I haven’t decided yet. I have an underwater scene I started on tumuarta cotton paper..unfortunately, there’s a reason I haven’t finished it yet. My bestie suggested starting over with my Baohong Artist grade..I may do that tonight and see if there’s that big of a difference. I think good underwater scenes just really push the paper to the limits.
