A small , quick river near my house was up and I couldn't resist trying out the new seat in my Old Town 119 in some quick water . My son helped me film it , we used three cameras from different perspectives .
Thanks Jack , it has more than worked out well for what I want at a minimal expense . I use it to run this quick water stream ( The Weweantic River ) about ten miles from my house and some Class II rivers in the New England area .
Mad respect, sir for your skills and experience and still getting with it! I use the OT Pack, the lighter version of this boat, but mostly for fishing, as i orefer it to any kayak i have or have tried. Great to see the versatility of the boat in action.
Thanks John . Canoeing was my first experience of paddling and still is my first choice out on the water . I have several kayaks I enjoy paddling at times also , but Canoeing to me is primal .
Just for shits and giggles and mostly exercise !!! Try paddling back up stream under the bridge from where you started just to see if you can do it !!!!
I used to pole my 18 foot Grumman up drops like that . In fact I once poled upstream from Ferring Hill Road bridge to below the dam upstream ,approximately 3 - 4 miles on this very river . I have done a lot of upstream then turn around and run it down in my canoeing career !
A North Waters closed cell foam seat. . I also used their 2 pad system for knee pads . I used a piece of left over foam from the seat for instep pads . It worked out very nicely .
