Swedish chocolate is really good. Dajm is addictive. But if you choose really salty liquorice, what do you expect. I don't eat those either. I'm with you, the reactions are too quick and doesn't say anything more than to show his own predefined opinion.
@@larrybuchannan186you're insane, the best chocolate is from Switzerland then Sweden. The US have HORRIBLE sweeteners, I almost threw up the first time I ate US chocolate it is horrid. Even other Americans agree your chocolate ain't good, so seriously stfu about that, it ain't true.
I feel like his taste buds stopped working after the first salty ones, because how could someone say that Daim and Kexchoklad are salty?? Also, Daim and Plopp are both indeed caramel, right? Or otherwise what's the difference between american "caramel" and swedish "kola"? 🤔
American candy is the most disgusting, chemical filled snacks ive ever tasted, everything tastes of artificial sweetener not sugar.. atleast swedish chocolate taste like chocolate not like diabetes on steroids. 😂
Ive tried several american ones, the ones i`ve tasted, tasted fake with either too much artificial stuff or no «real» quality chocolate. Most of the ones i`ve seen in movies i tried later on but was always disappointed..

My family has a genetic disorder that makes most of us need a higher salt level to keep blood volume at a healthy consistency and this makes us crave salt. As Americans we're looked at tiny for wanting salty things amd I find it hilarious. We have a candy shop on my state that makes the caramels so salty they make a person pucker and are sold more as a joke, but I think they are AMAZING!
First thing: just because its from sweden doesn't mean its sweet. second: the Kex chocolate you ate don't taste salt, i think you might be having a flavor of salt from the other candys that you tasted befor left, but who knows 🤷♀️
Salt is .. salt in Swedish to. I suspect that they used the chemical designation though, where normal salt would be NaCl (sodium choride (eng)/ natriumklorid (Swe)). But I guess they used a different kind of salt, NH4Cl, or ammonium chloride (eng) / ammoniumklorid (swe) that's a salt that taste more salt than salt, also known as salmiak. As a sidenote, the salty liquorice that is popular in the Scandinavian countries contains up to 70 g salmiak per kg liquorice. The EU tried to regulate this and only allow 3 g but they made an exception for the salty stuff that you now can enjoy.

In the 50s, some Swedish candy were named after the American coins. Dajm (dime) and nickel. The spelling changed from Dajm to Daim in 1990. In general, American inspired product names were very popular during the 50s and 60s in Sweden
I relatively recently migrated to work in Sweden. I see everyone in the lunch break having a barrel of salt and pouring over every bite of food. It was pretty surprising because the food we got from the restaurant was already salted. Now, this is starting to make some sense since candies are seasoned with salt. Salt is pretty much advised against where I come from, due to its link to higher blood pressure. So basically sugar gives you diabetes and salt gives you bp. Can a Swede explain your take on this? And what’s your doctor’s advice since Swedes look generally healthy?.
As a Canadian who has lived in Sweden for 3 and a half years, I can confirm that this video is pretty accurate, HOWEVER I bought candy every day basically and there's lots of amazing sugary candies to choose from. I've even been to a candy store where they made candy canes in front of you!

I live in Denmark and we dont really taste salt liqurice as salt per se. We taste it as kind of hot. We go for the sensation, like when you eat spicy food. It hurts, but in a good way. A theory goes that the reason we like salty candy, is that our pallet is primed for it, because we conserved our food with salt for centuries, in Scandinavia.
That's an interesting choice of snacks someone sent him. The chocolate and bilar are classics, so is Djungelvrål, but Läkerol is more of a cough drop/breath mint afaik. They're also a mild laxative, which is written in VERY fine print on the back of the box.
See here in America we put sugar in everything, or almost everything and then stuff that is sugar free we add similar sweetners to make it sweet. Although even if it has sugar here doesn't mean it tastes sweet. We add it to stuff in small quantities also just as the regular ingredient. I live in North America but I actually like snacks that contain more salt than average that's why I believe I'd like Mexican candy. Never had it but I like chili and I like salt which seems to be popular in Mexican type candy.🤷🤷🤷. But I like anchovies also and I am okay with the abundance of salt in them. I can eat a chicken bouillon cubes and be happy. Maybe I'm lacking something in my diet could be s3x could be sleep idk (idk what sleep has to do with a regular diet but... ... )🤷🤷🤷😂🤔

I’m Swedish and I don’t like most of the candy but like you ordered all the salt candies, in Sweden we have a lot of sweet. And when I saw what candy it was I knew what was comin’
