Thank you for your terrific video. My girlfriend is heading there later this month (without me) and she has always wanted to visit Bar Harbour....sorry, Canadian spelling. You've just gained a subscriber. Keep 'em coming
🥹 thank you so much for watching and supporting, Brian!!! We hope that your girlfriend has a fantastic time and that one day the two of you will be able to go back together! ❤️
Love the energy and flow if the video. Lol first Lobster Roll can take some time. I'd love to see y'all try the popovers from the Asticou and the Stadium. See which one is the best. You did well showcasing some great spots on MDI. Something that I definitely appreciate having been up here for 6 Summers.
Thank you!! ☺️ Yes, that cold lobster roll is going to take some time to get used to. 😂 Popovers are one of our new favorite things- we want to try them all! 😋 And being that you’ve been going for six summers we’ll definitely take your recommendation next time we go. Thanks, again, for watching and commenting. Means so much! 😊
Heading this way from New Orleans with the family in May , thanks for the recommendations. looks like I'll be dropping some cash on lobster rolls, I love them.
We went to coastal maine just this last May. Aside from the amazing trip we had, my experience was that the lobster roll was the biggest let down of the whole trip. I had seen so many video talking about HOW AMAZING they were...well 36 dollars later after biting into a cold soggy roll...i was beyond dissapointed. We went to one of the best known lober roll shacks too. Who wants to bite into cold, wet, chewy lobster?!? I was expecting the lobster to be freshly steamed and warm...not the case. To each their own i guess.
Here is what I learned just getting back from Maine for a week. There two major styles of lobster rolls. The Maine lobster roll is going to be served cold with a toasted bun and light mayo. The Connecticut lobster roll is warm and buttery. The lobster roll from Maine is the cold lobster salad you see at the grocery stores. It is tasty but not worth buying more than once in a life unless you love cold seafood on warm bread
I live on an island just off the coast of bar harbor. Its always fascinating to me watching people experience my neck of the woods. Next time you're in the area you need to have an authentic lobster boil on the beach. I'd be more then happy to do that for you if its something you guys are interested in.
The average price for a lobster roll should always be included in these type of videos. In Bar Harbor they go for close to 40 dollars. And it’s cold lobster on a hot dog bun that’s all. Down the road ten mins away it’s $25 -$30 for one roll. My suggestion is ordering an entire lobster platter and asking for a roll on the side. That’s about 45 dollars but comes with so much more
Hey Evan! We agree the prices should be included! That’s why we included ours 😊 thanks so much for the tip about a more affordable one down the road! We will definitely hit that up next time we go 😋
@@Mugsmaster well, I'm pretty sure he has naturally curly hair, and when you do, there's a lot of things used for the up keep. It's probably just frazzled and just looks "dirty" but it's probably just the product
And we know it's the best popover, the best lobster roll, and the best blueberry pie in Bar Harbor because we tried one of each, the one that was recommended in every other RU-vid video on line.
I just came back from Bar Harbor. Was a bit disappointed with the lobster rolls. First and foremost very pricey. Even at lobster shacks. You are going to pay between 30-40 bucks for abt 4oz of lobster meat on a hot dog bun (probably a bit smaller then most hotdog buns). Second most are served cold and not warm (this preference of course). I also noticed the buns, on the inside are kinda perked up, the bread that is, giving the illusion that the buns are small but bursting with lobster meat but that’s not the case. I live in NY and I go to a restaurant out in Mattituk that makes lobster rolls that would put those in Maine to shame. Triple the size, and cheaper by a few bucks. And this restaurant not even known for lobster rolls. The whole lobster is in the roll. The Maine lobster rolls are not lacking flavor though and Bar Harbor beautiful nonetheless!
We would have to agree about them being pricey. We didn’t expect that. And after trying both hot and cold rolls we both said we preferred the hot. It sounds like you have a good lobster spot though! We may ask for more details if we make our way to NY. 😂
