I remember back in the 1960's, my mother woulld always have the ribbon candy & other like candy in candy dishes around the house. She said they always gave the hard candy to the granny they didn't like & the soft to the one they loved. She also had hollow peppermint straws filled with chocolate & other candy was filled with fruit flavors. Those were the days!
