My grandmother taught me the whipped coffee thing a while ago, but made it into hot coffee. So here’s an actually useful recipe to make a nicer instant coffee: put 2 spoonfuls of instant coffee and 2-and-a-little-more spoonfuls of sugar in a mug (preferably not a huge mug as that’ll make it harder to whip later) and then add the tiniest bit of water, like maybe a small spoon’s worth of warm water. When you mix the coffee and sugar, there should only be enough water to make it into a slightly wet clump (sounds gross but I couldn’t find a better word). Start mixing the coffee and sugar and water in the mug vigorously with a spoon for a few minutes, until it’s gone from a dark brown clump to a nice light colored thick mixture. Hold the mug with the mixture over the sink and start pouring hot milk into the mug and then move the container of hot milk upwards so you’re pouring from about a foot or two above the mug (that’s why you do it over the sink). At the end you’ll have a really nice creamy coffee with a nice layer of foam at the top. It’s really rich and sweet and not suuuuper time consuming (especially if you put an electric mixer in the mug, though you’ll only be able to fit one of the two whisks in there)

Not cafeteria prison food, but like the sorts of meals you prepare when the only ingredients you have access to are what you can get from commissary or a snack machine and maybe it's a minimum security place where they let you have access to a hot water pot or something.

The craziest thing to me about Getti's hot cheetos mac n cheese is that instead of doing the logical thing, which is just crushing up the cheetos into a fine powder to add AFTER the macs are cheesed... she boils them down into a lumpy neon lava that eclipses the miniscule amount of cheese sauce. You can't drain water from mush at that point.

the whole thing about the chips omelette comes originally from spain. it is based on a real hack for making fast tortilla espanol, which calls for small cut fried potatoes, for which potato chips are the ideal workaround. normally you only just mix the ingredients in the chips bag and pour the whole thing in a pan and fry it both sides, or you can also bake it in a heat proof cast iron pan in the oven.

The fat content needs to be a certain percentage (I think it's around 30%, but I don't remember the actual number) in order for you to whip it up; the same logic applies to frosting by the way. In order for the coffee whip to work, try adding heavy cream instead of water.

I really love when Tiktok America discovers the most basic things. I am Italian and here in some caffés you can actually find big bowls of "whipped coffee" and you can add a spoon of it to your espresso/latte or whatever. Here we make it like this: you make some regular coffee, then pour it into a bowl, add some sugar and then mix it really fast (it's like whipped cream so you have to whip it, lol) and we call it literally "coffee cream" because we add it on top of hot coffees. We even use it as frosting for cakes or just enjoy it with some chocolate powder/syrup. It's delicious :)

As an actual chef, I find this existencially horrifying.

The omlette recipe is completely safe to ingest. Aluminum starts to leach into food at 400 degrees F, even then its unlikely that any of it will actually cause any harm to your body. It would be a lot better if you didn't use a chip bag and just used a pan like a normal omlette maker tho
