I also appreciate that the ad connects to the comedic content in a non-annoying, non-shoehorned, non-dumb-segueway manner, and comes at the end, not grinding the video's enjoyment to a screeching halt. Way too many youtubers do their content spots super dumb and actually end up turning me off to the brand as a result.

The game has gotten better since then, most of the major errors of Links got corrected I mean its still modern YGO, the madness and insanity is still real, but the specific atrocities of Links as applied to the rest of the game have been walked back(other than for Pends, they deserve it tho)

@@syrelian i actually quit when pendulums came out. I got my mechanics mixed up. The game was already getting too fast by the end of the Xyz era, and that just made it 1000x worse. I think the game peaked somewhere in the Synchro era personaly. I also have a soft spot for the classic days of pre-GX.

@@syrelian I've actually been working on constructing a YuGiOh "cube" that is meant to recreate the feel of the really early days of the original show covering the entirity of Duelist Kingdom. The cube concept is more or less identical to an MTG cube if you're familiar. If I can find a good play group and the cube ends up being popular I might work on a Battle City iteration of it as well.

As someone who pieced together WoW second hand from friend rants, I understand your friend. I think it was about a year in of this type of exchange before anyone asked if I played (I started asking questions based on what I'd heard).

I have a similar situation with my girlfriend, except she actively enjoys listening to me rant about stuff. I think she finds it funny, but she will also try and become involved in the rant, agreeing with me over stuff or asking about related things. There's nothing more infuriating than someone saying "just play something else" when you get frustrated at a game, as if I'm just gonna throw away the hundreds of hours I've put into a game just because I got tilted at a dumb teammate (or just a dumb team in general sometimes)

It's different if it's some rando at a store or something, where you're like "why do you care?" At the end of the day, it is just a game, even though I spend too much money on it.

ironically this is why I love yugioh cause negates do allow for a ton of interaction between players making it so each turn itself isn't just waiting for the opponent to finish but interacting with them. However there are good alt formats such as goat and Edison if you're tired of tcg

And this is why modern yugioh is awful in my opinion, I don’t care how many nostalgia goggles claims are made, at least the basic chaos of the old generations of yugioh was mostly earned instead of being a bunch of negation spam and instantly flooding the field and making it so if you can’t counter whatever over complicated garbage the enemy throws on turn one you lose instantly… I liked the slower pace, maybe it’s the anime talking but it felt more real, tense and earned back then, and wasn’t just the same spammy crap.

Im blessed to have stopped before pendulum hit, the current handtrap meta looks insanely restrictive and annoying

He is a professional voice actor. Doing all of one side at once without a reply is very similar to what he does normally, so he'd likely be pretty good at it! It is a very funny image to think of though. :p

I do skits where I play multiple characters too and it's always easier to film all of one character's lines first, move to the next character and do all of theirs, and put everything in the right order in post-production. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case for others as well-filming out of order doesn't have much effect on the acting when you're already doing it without a stage partner

Go figure - if you have a good product and pay the creators fairly, they'll come up with something that the audience will love. Wish there was more of that around these days!
