Trying to FIX - Doctor Who TARDIS Money Box 

I was a teeny bit disappointed at how small it appeared on the inside.

I have watched both the quick and full length videos of this fix and am disappointed that you didn`t use your sonic screwdriver , WHY loved the fix anyways

Great repair Vince! I agree it would have made more sense for them to put the power switch as part of a coin chute. You could always mod it!

The right hand door has come from a later model of the money box, that's why it's a different colour to the rest of the tardis. It's also missing the pull to open sticker (on the outer panel where the phone is inside the door). Really good job in getting it fixed.

If they did it when you put the money in there’s no guarantee it will do the sound effect because they might put the money in when it’s lying on its side and then it won’t hit the switch

Nice video again! My advice would have been to try swapping the one outer wire to the other unused end of the switch then flip the switch around to mount it rather than trying to take apart a slide switch which are very fiddly.

Good fix. I found a red metal phone money box in a charity shop for 2 pounds. I like Doctor Who but I prefer the older doctors compared to the newer lot.

possible reason for 2 colours of pieces is, there were 2 versions, I have the rose and doctor one, only change was sticker and colour scheme. maybe person saw fault on base piece and door and swapped out parts from the rose version, attempting to fix. one of roses versions sayings was ecclestone saying " lots of planets have a north"...

However there is no information of this topic online since no games up until recently use the touch screen. Great fix. It always amazes me how bloody cheeky these manufacturers are though when they sell these novelty items. I think these originally retailed for £15... but there's no more than a couple of pounds of materials in the thing. Extremely cheap electronics (and really poor quality switch and wiring) in a cheap plastic mould with paper labels. Really poor for the price.

3d print a new switch case lol I bought 1 of these tardis boxes about 10 years ago in a car bootsale. Didnt work but it was just a loose wire. I payed the grand sum of 50p

what screwdriver set do you use

the switch builds up with carbon after awhile and causes the switch to not conduct.

Nothing to do with this video but wondering if you plan on having a crack at LCD TVs. IV got a 3 year old TCL 50" that's from what I can make sense of from online diagnosis has blown some led lights on the light strip's causing it to blackscreen. I don't no how hard this'll be due to my amature level electronic skills but I don't really want to throw away an $850 tv IV barley worn in nor do I want to pay someone $300+ to fix it. Try ringing TCL's Brisbane call centre for part's and they're more interested in selling you a "discount" TV than they are selling part's...
