he's probably not really "hurt", it's just a thing to do when training dogs to not play-bite you, is to yell ouch, to help teach them to stop. Since it's a coyote it seems to only half work.
I love how the coyote doesent care enough to actually attack him and the fact he goes like: "Lemme pet you" *Ouch* "Lets be friends" *ouch* "Can we be friends" *OUCH*
coyotes are pretty used to humans as far as wild animals go, he's probably been around this particular one a lot since he knew where it was and it didn't run long before he got there, because it absolutely heard him coming.
@@desiredsweetsIt is his pet so he can definitely trust it more but he definitely still has a lot of confidence in the coyote being nice because it still is a wild animal who still lives very similar to a wild animal and can at any point decide he is not in the mood and do major damage. Definitely wouldn’t be able to do this where I live, coyotes in most places are small compared the coyotes here. The coyotes where I am bred with the wolves and dogs in the area, we don’t have wolves anymore so they bred with them awhile ago, but that breeding cause the coyotes to be very large and much more aggressive.

I had a pet coyote as a child, she was bottle fed from 3 days old and I adopted her at 5 weeks. She was indiscernible from a dog other than appearance, behavior wise she was basically an amazingly smart, rather mischievous, dog. I’d never expect a wild coyote to behave the same.

Nah it's playing, its whole body is relaxed, the bites are very soft and doesn't do any sound. It's not even annoyed because its ears are down, sign of peace and submission (no it's not a bad thing, canids just accept their role in their gerarchy), everything is saying "so you wanna play? Okay I'll show you how to play"

@@nunocampea2395 no. they would be shot to death and considered most violent dog breed that should be systematically wiped out for human safety. also being bigger doesn't mean its gonna compete well agains already big dogs. its legs would still be proportionally really short and its head and body would be stumpy. it would not have as strong of a bite as other dogs in similar size due to atrophied snout and it would be more like Hyper violent bulldog with weaker bite. it would not be on the slower side in terms of running too.

they have a very very small bite force, so dying to one is rare and unlikely. You'd have to be trying hard to die, even against a pack of Coyote's, they're not smart.

yep, canines have thicker skin than us so what might feel like a playful nibble to another dog/coyote will probably be painful to a human, but the intention of playfulness is still the same. This is why you need to teach puppies (domestic dogs) young that biting, even playful nibbles, shouldn't be part of an interaction with humans, and should be saved for dog play.

Coyotes are timid, similar to foxes and don't go for humans who are bigger than them unless they pose harm. This guy was disturbing it but, if he came up and kicked the coyote then it would prob rip his fingers off
I just had to explain that to a friend who thought that he was literally trying to pet a wild Coyote... I had to point out the fact that you can tell the Coyote is play biting him... Cause there's no way he would have been able to get that close to a truly wild Coyote and it not be acting completely aggressive and trying to tear him up....
yeah, the coyote is doing no harm to him, which, by the fact his teeth look pretty sharp, means he is intentionally holding back his strength to not hurt him. meanwhile, if he really did feel threatened, he could probably really rip that hand up
