Hi Sophie, I'm 30 years old, I started learning learning electric guitar a month ago. You are one of a few guitarists that have inspired me to learn. Keep posting videos like this because it really helps keep my inspired.
@guitarplayer1495

been playing for around a year..and im still not able to shred or do any of the cool stuff those iconic rock-stars can. but thats completely okay. mostly because theyve been playing longer..but the one thing us guitarists have in common is we all were on kind of the same page at the beginning. beginning was the most boring part of guitar for me, sitting there trying to play a specific chord progression and i just couldnt, but the more you practice the better you become and remember to go slow and dont try to push yourself like i did. check out Marty Music, been a fan of his for AWHILE he's taught me to play guitar, he has beginner lessions and has alot of song lessons that really go in-depth, and the most important part he breaks it down for beginners and goes slow, its very intuitive. good luck on your journey, and one more thing; if you ever feel like not playing listen to a song you enjoy, have the guitar in your lap and just start playing random stuff. that always gets me in the mood. cheers

@@lucanealon1305 will do man, my dad has been playing since he was 15, and hes now 44? hes not the best teacher but hes definitely gotten me into it and showed me a few songs. to be exact i learned welcome home (sanitarium) by metallica from him, and he had a creed tab book i plan on looking at. not the best at tabs but that doesnt stop me from learning. i picked up a new guitar, a jackson to be specific. love this thing man my first very own guitar. i was using his old charvel, that thing was awesome. slowly getting better gear, and slowly getting better as a guitarist.

@@lucanealon1305 definitely, he's pretty proud at the fact I picked it up in a few weeks. i think I'm pretty much self taught, only asking him a few questions about pinch harmonics and other basic stuff. and using RU-vid/reading chord books. like I said my dad isn't a good teacher at all lmao so it was pretty hard for him to point out my mistakes. but watching other people playing I tried imitating their style and its definitely lead me in the right direction. right now I'm not really sure what to do..I plan on being a metal guitarist, covering death metal, thrash and black. feels like I just need to learn to play the songs.

This video honestly is a sign to show that it's ok to mess up and that we all do it, no matter how long we've been playing. It gives that relatability for all players even if they've been playing for a long time. I feel like this is fun to watch in that sense, along with just watching you play in general. Keep up the great work Sophie! Merry Christmas! 🎄👏💙

There’s millions of guitar players out there but only a small percentage with natural instinct. You Have it in droves!! Being able to emote through playing is something you do very well. It’s easily identifiable in your original stuff. I’ve been fortunate growing up hearing “Rubina” from Satriani or “As Time Slips By” from Vinnie Moore and those songs plotted the course on where I wanted to be as a guitar player. They’re playing the vocals on the guitar. For instance the beginning guitar solo after the intro in Playing God is not a guitar solo! It’s simulating a🔥azz rapper coming out hard AF and dropping the first verse! Their music is based on musicians writing ,composing and mixing all genres of music. Creating all the bass parts,vocal structures,guitar harmony’s ,hip hop rap and R&B vocals ,then playing them all at once, together on just a guitar done by one person ,or in this case ,individually buy each of the two guitar players. Polyphia simply mixes all genres of music ,their rock and rap harmonies and their vocal lyrics ,then all written,composed and played on a single guitar ,wether they’re live or in studio! It’s one man doing what a 5 piece band can barely all do together and it’s Ultra impressive to say least. Unequivocally this is next level complicated music with more emotion and structure than some give them credit for! The bottom line is It’s not just music but artistic writing and musical brilliance at some of it’s absolute finest and most genius! As a professional studio musician ,Drummer and lead guitarist I can say I both hear and feel the absolute magnificence of Polyphia! -Crisis
