Trying to make Man-Eating Plant Tart from Delicious in Dungeon

I decided to try to make the Man-Eating Plant Tart from Delicious in Dungeon(episode 1) and try my best to use fruits to make it. This is a savory tart with a red bell pepper crust, which means you will not need any flour for this tart. I have to warn you if you try to make this tart, is a pretty weird recipe but it impressed me. I ended up liking it a lot even if I used all those weird ingredients. I'm really as impressed with it as Marcelle was with this creation from Senshi, it really made me feel like a was on Delicious in Dungeon. Hope you give it a chance and enjoy it.
Ingredients:
Crust:
4-5 BIG RED BELLPEPPERS
Filling:
4 EGGS
450gr HEAVY CREAM
50gr MOZARRELLA
2 POTATOES
(this two are optional)
CRAB
1/2 APPLE
Toppings: (you can use whatever toping you like)
CHERRY TOMATO
OLIVES
4 CAMBRAY ONIONS

Scorpion and Crab are surprisingly similar in taste because of the chitin, which is the shell, so by all means, good replacement. Also, if you want to steam the bell peppers a bit faster, you probably need a steamer basket so the steam focuses on one point, it should be better then if you really don't want to char them. That aside, really good looking recipe, can't say I've ever cooked crab, but I'm certainly willing to try this one out, looks like a really fancy tart to impress guests.

Oh so in the end scorpion and crab do have more similarities than what I thought. You should try cooking the crab, is a lot easier than what you would think. And yeah the steamer would be a lot faster but had to make it as similar as possible to how it was made on the anime so had to sacrifice some time for it. Also is always a joy to see you back, and read your comments, you seem to know a lot about cooking, hope you can try this recipe some time :)

@@carrot-z I love cooking, so over the years I learnt a lot. I don't know how to get crab around here, so it may take a while, but certainly want to try it out.

WONDERFUL recipe, as always!! Looks delicious. My notes: - If you char peppers on a grill until they're black (or sliced in the oven skin side up), they will get silky soft much faster, all you need to do is remove the black skin after leaving covered for 15 minutes in a bowl once they're done cooking to loosen the skin. Not sure how that affects the flavor though because I've only ever made peppers like that with the char method. - the reason why apple goes well with everything is because it has malic acid! I love cooking with apple, but I don't usually get it because sumac also has malic acid, and I have a LOT of sumac.

I love how you always give me notes for the recipes, I'm really thankful for than. About the chard method I thought about using it cause I love to do it to make "pimiento morron" and other recipes, plus is a lot faster, but wanted to try to steam them because that's how is done in the anime, and at the end I found out that they do taste different when you steam them and when you chard them. Steaming them makes them have a sweeter taste comparing to when they are chard. And about the apples I really really appreciate you tell me this things because you always have something to say a didn't knew before, and I'll try sumac I haven't had it before.

@@carrot-z yeah for sure! good to know that charred peppers have a different flavor. Sumac is used a lot in middle eastern cooking and it's a key ingredient in the spice blend za'atar.
