It’s sad that Plato’s closet says that they only take certain brands and yet while you’re searching through stuff you find Walmart branded items and the cheaper things. Which is fine. But it’s the fact that when you take stuff in to sell they say they don’t accept those brands or the fact that something can be brand new with tags and a brand they accept and they still don’t buy it. The one near me the ladies are very rude and snooty 🙄
@@wockyslush666 excuse me? I'm a grown adult with my own money who bought the items on poshmark. They just happened not to fit. Mind your business, cunt
I just donate my clothes 💁🏼♀️ there’s a bin by my house that we can put shoes books clothes for free and they pick it up and bring them to shelters for people who need them♥️
3.75-3.90 per item is awful, just sell on facebook marketplace or something, plus they sell things for such expensive prices for second hand, what's the point
I think the fact they are more likely to take men’s items to be a somewhat interesting indicator to the kind of stock that they make a good return on. Since men are not marketed to NEARLY as much regarding fashion trends and specifically fast fashion, it makes sense that places like Plato’s closet, which helps enable the kind of consumption common in fast fashion (I.e. buying something on trend, wearing once or twice, then leaving it in a landfill or thrift store so they have money/space for the next trendy item.) would probably have an issue with trendy items. Where as menswear while still following trends has less variety and variation, likely makes it more profitable and easier to ensure it will sell/be kept. Basically it seems like Plato’s closet helps people consume fast fashion, but then is leery about stocking it, compared to more longstanding garments like basic men’s and women’s wear. Idk, I just think it’s an interesting peek into the business/demographic!
I literally donated brand new. Michael kors flats like nice dress shoes size like 8 and 1/2 and they didn't take them. I'm like such a average shoe size and it being a more higher end brand I was baffled
I love Plato’s closet. It has so much good stuff for so much less than I would pay brand new. Plus it is in good condition most of the time and saves money! It also helps the planet since things are all second hand.
It’s not a win! You don’t save. You get back 20% or less from 100% of your original item you purchased at a high end store. If you paid item with credit card; your still paying on your item. Then you sell it to Plato Closet for much less? Skip buying high end clothes, buy only from Plato! Then you will save 💰 money!
The last few times I’ve gone I’ve only ever gotten $10 or less. And it’s not just random clothes there’s Victoria Secret in there and all the name brands but they’ll take more of my boyfriends stuff
I went there w a basket full of mint condition clothes they offered me $2 lmfao and accepted like 2 things, I left so embarrassed but to be fair my clothes were not good brands and outdated hahaha 😂
