YES, the Yugoslavia tree was updated again in No Step Back. The Point of Balkanizing the Balkans is so that each pupped goes down its own tree and builds up the economy and military before you annex them again. Also, it removes the debuffs.
And you annex all your other puppets as well and gain cores on some of them if you have them as puppets (Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and Hungary iirc, probably not)
Battle for the Bosporus, not no step back. Yugoslavia and Romania were both updated, though IIRC the only change they made to Romania was the way the 'divide Yugoslavia' decisions work.
if you puppet bulgaria give them their cores in greece and romania and give your transylvania puppet all the transylvanian cores in romania you get cores on all of that too when uniting the kingdom. my favorite path as yugoslavia.
How about a series where you play Hoi3, and play every single nation? Perhaps you could call it Hoi3 a2z where you play them in alphabetical order. That would be fun I think!
The balkanizing route can actually be pretty powerful when you reannex the nations if the AI actually does their economic focuses, it gets you over 50 factories.
And you can even still do it as Tito because they never bothered restricting which advisors you can select for Yugoslavia, and such could actually be a good move because as a communist you can immediately justify war goals on Hungary and Bulgaria, puppet them, and then use the focus Reunite the Balkans to core Hungarian and Bulgarian territory for free (and Transylvania, though that can be annoying to accomplish since Romania is one of the stronger Balkan nations).

i agree on these types of defensive games being fun, my favourite nation in hoi4 is playing the netherlqnds and never capitulating by holding amsterdam and the 3 provinces to the north south and west of it, its very satisfying and you can basically beat the germans single handedly if you have a bit of patience
@@gorillainabikini266 i am Dutch. Amsterdam lies in the province "Noord-Holland". There is no province to the west of Noord-Holland... And if there is in the game it doesn't make sense and should be changed. We have 12 provinces in total. Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland, Brabant, Zeeland, Limburg, Utrecht, Overijssel, Gelderland, Drenthe, Friesland, Groningen and Flevoland. And from all those provinces 0 are west of Amsterdam
Fun fact, when you release all the nations as vassals then reannex them you will actually get cores on all of Transylvania if you decided to release Slavic Transylvania as a puppet (which leads to some awful borders)

Turns out, if you had gone with Dissolving Yugoslavia and then re-annexing it all, had you also gone to war with and annexed Hungary and Bulgaria, you would've gotten cores on both, getting the factories from Bulgaria, and the Aluminum and equipment from Hungary.

Releasing everyone and waiting for them to do their industrial focuses isn't too bad, just late game when you finally do annex them all you'll have an extra 40+ factories.

@@djdjukic Well I can never play Yugoslavia without Albania fucking everything up. I hate it because you either have to kick them from the faction, allowing them to be invaded by Italy and leaving you with an Italian thorn in your side when you inevitably go to war with them, or you keep Albania in the faction and get the entire rest of the faction drawn into a war with the Axis leaving you to either sit and watch all of your allies get steamrolled around you or join the war and get steamrolled with them. So I feel justified in cheating a little bit just to make the game bearable. I'm also really really dogshit at the game so that probably doesn't help.

I u pick "A United Kingdom" after releasing everyone you will annex everything, this gives you more industry and manpower than you would ever get doing the other parts, making this the most fun/strong yugo possible
As a former Yugoslav now Serbian I thank you for this, I have been waiting for this video since Albania episode now I can finally rest, anyway yes Yugoslav tree was added in Death or Dishonor, and it was updated and changed a bit in Battle for the Bosporus, where it gives you this cursed path of releasing all countries of Yugoslavia as puppets then annexing them back again and ending up with massive army, industry and manpower
you get the same problem with Albania when playing as communist Bulgaria. Albania will always just surrender to Italy which is annoying. so actually trying to make them communist is a waste of time and pp.

when I did the Tito path I got super lucky and the Albanian Civil War triggered at the exact moment Italy annexed Albania leaving Communist Albania alive in the tiny sliver of land that is southern Albania.
The Balkanization Path is actually pretty good if you annex all of transylvania (note: you have to get the puppet and take over romania) You can core all of transylvania and annex your puppets with no debuffs.

ISP, if you do the deconstructed Yugoslavia path, at the end of it when you reunite the kingdoms, you get cores on I believe every single puppet you have and you annex all of them. This includes puppets that aren't part of Yugoslavia lmao
You can release them as puppets and conquer more nations and puppet them and at the end of the focus tree you could annex them all there was a bug where you could annex EVERTHING it was sadly patched

Great multiplayer yugoslav strat is to dissolve yourself, let your puppets make factories through their focus trees. And absorb them and all the free factories
Splitting up Yugoslavia, waiting for your puppets to get the factories via their focus tree and then re-annexing them doubles or triples your economy which I think is pretty funny.
ah the "slavs cannot coexist" meme is kinda annyoing if you know history and geopolitics of the balkans and forces that tried to conquer them a bit better :) Also, just as a fun fact, "j" letters are not pronounced like the "j" in the "jungle", or taken from google: "like the “y” in “yes”, not like the “j” in “junk”. The “lj” is actually a sound in its own right and sounds like the “lli” in “million”." Fun video though, enjoyed it. (and when talking about "worse than yugoslavia in ww2", you have to specify, kingdom of yugoslavia :P Although to be fair to them - kinda hard to fight from all sides, while the established parties of catholics in slovenia and croatia are already making deals to be "released" as puppet states. If you are not from balkans you most definetly wont undestand why and when it would be best to release and take over or hold onto certain nations for certain reasons.
When I tried to do this the bus where Albania gets annexed anyways was patched and so it drew my faction into a war against the axis which I tried to join and then got steam rolled by the Italians and Germans and so I rage quit. This is all on civilian difficulty btw, I'm really bad at the game.
2 width infantry is cheaper and faster to recruit than 2 width cav becase infantry cost like 900 guns and needs 90 time recruit while cav cost like 1000 guns and needs 120 time recruit i dont know if time recruit means days or something else the number is just lower lol
Tito actually is the reason Yugoslavia exploded. He declared no successor would be able to take his position. Without a central authority to run the country after his death, the country had no choice but to dissolve.
