On the quarter pipe, you should round off the centre into a roller creating a Chanel gap. Then the roller feeds up and into a smaller quarter pipe which you can then air and pump back down the roller/channel gap to get speed for the rest of the line 💪
Insane Matt so sick to see how insane the playground is turning into, you should name the little path from quarter to side line the cart path or any line that brings you from one trail to another cause it brings you from one trail to another like the cart path in golf brings you to different holes. Stoked for more videos to come!
You should build a 180 berm after the step up that connects with a step down or big roller that lands in the quarter pipe, then you would have enough speed to make it up the hill and the line might work as a loop.
I dont like the quater at all. doesnt fit in with the trails at all. Total line killer. Roll in sided with a step up would and on top a berm would give so many options.
I think there should be alot more wooden features as they look sick, if you painted the helfare logo or your RU-vid initials on the nollie pad it would look sick!!
It's cool, but it feels like there's too many random features everywhere. I think we would all love to see a big flowy line of 4 or 5 doubles, maybe more, getting progressivly bigger. A nice long section of jumps somewhere
On the way back from the fairway make the landing on sideline into a pump bump, with a new lip into the bunker after it, could help carry speed through and unlock the full run. Might be worth a try for not to much effort. Or i could be completely wrong, hard to tell when i've never been there.
This is his life and career. He’s not placing in competitions, doing world first tricks. This RU-vid channel is the reason Helfare succeeds, the reason he gets opportunities with RedBull and drives a supercar on the weekends.
Hey Matt do you know where the pipeline is and you see that line that y’all just made put a jump but keep going and put a jump right at the first jump of the Pipeline put a jump right behind that landing and then you can go right there
Maybe you can make some kind of upside down roller in the second crossing so you can pump. Also i LOVE your content! I hope that you see this Matt. (this is my mothers account becouse i'm to youg to have one)
Be cool if you turned the quarter pipe into a vert wall with a wooden vertical extension. Also think you should try and marry your math from wooden features into some of your dirt features. You seem very particular and precise when it comes to building with materials, and just eyeball it all when it comes to dirt. Lol I love it and respect it, but also think some quick templates would save you a lot of guess work go forward.
Matt can you please ride trial and you are my favourite mountain biker in the whole world keep up the great vids 👍🏻 plus you inspired me to start mountain biking myself hope he sees this
Hey Matt you have inspired me and some friends to start our own channel called Jmcfreeride we have taken lots of inspiration from you and we love your vids
Matt I think that u should come off the nollie pad and where the end of the flat dirt landing is u should start digging out the hill so you can gap into it and put a ton of speed and then shark fin out into a long long straight away of wooden kickers to giant dirt landing trick jumps and at the end it berms back to gap the pond. Pls everyone like this so mabey he can get a chance to see this
sick asf vids homie love watching your building videos matt jones. cuzzy rory over here in nz new zealand. building an riding my new dirt jump line an building few another new setups off off my trails ling. off new dirt jumps line an building pallet wood ramp setup too for mtb bike park sick asf backyard trails line off dirt an wood at my new playground at my place in nz new zealand for me an all my homies hahahaah too come full sending down the new dirt jump trails line
Extend the nollie-pad to the right to make a wall ride that leads into the quarter. You can ride around in circles, and I’d bet you’d have enough speed to get up after the quarter…
Maybe if you add dirt to the end of the main line next to the wooden jump (on main line) and remove the dirt up to the entry of bunker, you’d keep more speed for the entry of it
I also think that you could make a boner log on sidline and also make a teeter totter that also functions as a cannon just and idea and you'd prolly need a couple more little jumps to gain speed before
The whole thing is looking incredible! If I were to change one thing, I would have loved to see you build a huge wooden kicker into the centre of that quarter pipe, like at the end of the Innsbruck Crankworx course this year. That way you could still air it either left or right, but also make the landing a little shallower and a bit more inviting to land on, just a thought. Love the wooden nolly pad, would love to see even more sick wooden features integrated into the new line or into future lines to mix it up a bit. Keep up the awesome work guys!!
Hey Matt what be cool for the new side line is to have one line with a step down that lands in the bunker so you’ll have more speed to get back up that hill
Man that place is really coming along!! The dirt with the super green grass looks unbelievable! Such a kick ass place to have & know you've built all of it!
After the step up on sideline i think a line made up of more chill rollable features and maybe a few wooden ones as well (teeter totter/see saw maybe to fit the name “playground”?)
Matt you should build a wooden extension similar to what you’ve done on the step up but on the right hand side of the quarter pipe that way you can air up into it and hopefully generate enough speed to get over into the sideline without peddling. Also a hitching post on the quarter would also be sick. P.s if you build these can I come and ride? 😂👍
This place is already amazing but when it’s finished it’s gonna be mega your gonna get the world and it’s dog wanting to ride it ….and I think pilgs could air that quarter soooo massive you should give him a bell I reckon
hey matt i just wanted to tell you first of all your a awesome content creator and my favorite mtb'r. I also wanted to ask, my birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and I have been wanting to get some new forks for it but I don't have that much money to buy then so i was wondering if you had any extras laying around that I could buy for cheap or anything like that know that you probably cant because I live in the u.s and its a big request but I wanted to give it a shot. thanks for putting out awesome content and your a huge motivation for me!
Really enjoy these vid's BUT i'm still struggling see your back wheel slamming down ... is this right ? .. i don't claim to know anything about MTB's .Keep up the great content .
think you should continue you on with something 'doable' for the majority of other riders that are not capable of doing all the stuff you can. at least you can have one line that's for the 'masses'.
Hi, I really enjoy watching your videos. Ive been watching and enjoying this series but I can't help but think you have made alot of very technical jumps/lines. That was confirmed when you had Sam daryl and Ollie. Even at the compound with the dirt line they were riding/laughing at them. Why not build some normal stuff that's more enjoyable for Frenchy and digger boy. They never seem to ride or want to ride the technical stuff. I'm not a hater just for the record. I genuinely enjoy. Just my opinion. Keep vids coming 👍
Hey Matt and everybody else, My girlfriend and I have moved across the country to Washington from North Carolina, our first night here our uhaul trailer got broken into and all our belongings like clothes , kitchen items, and both our Marin San Quentin 2s which we had only had for about 4 months :( just wanted to put this here in hopes that somebody would be willing to helps us out even if it’s just sharing our GoFundMe we lost around 7k worth of things absolutely the 3500 for just the bikes alone
Surely you want a line to flow and be fun not ALMOST work SOME of the time with maximum effort? A playground is for f**king about and having fun. Not pushing your limits to achieve a difficult goal. You have the compound for that. Make it easy, make it creative, make it fun. Also have a look at yours or bens instagram i messaged you with drawings of features a couple of times. Theres a cool one that could go where you crashed the nomad the first time you brought it to the playground. You could even get an old banger car and put it on its roof and build the feature over it. Golf cart?
Quick suggestion matt, why don't you have the quarter pipe that's not so wide and only have it in the middle but as you enter the quarter on your left fly out 1 end and pump around up the top then drop back in the otherside of the quarter pipe to get speed to get back up into sideline 🤙
Could you do a quick 180 berm after the nollie pad that takes you back into the bunker possibly? Maybe that gets you enough speed into the “putting course that needs peddling” and would return you to the nollie pad through the side line like you did in this video. Perhaps cutting left corner of the quarter pipe making it a roll in. If you stand on the quarter pipe facing the mainline, the corner on your left. If you’re facing the quarter pipe then it would be on you’re right. Just as wide as your putting path. Just a thought. Love the videos, excited for #20.
hey Matt, 1. you should make a video only of build lapses put together all the ones from the different series(compound, backyard, red bull projects and the playground) 2. My dad is diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and I have three little brothers who love building pump tracks and jumps in our backyard and really enjoy your videos. Any chance you’d come build and ride with them or at least give them a shoutout if I send you some videos? It would mean a lot and they are really going through it right now.
You should keep the center (like 1500mm) of the quarter steep, then flatten out the sides and put plywood banked extensions on either side so you can boost the quarter both ways without worrying about imploding on impact, and land higher up on the bank giving you more speed. It will allow you to pump the landing transition harder as well. That should give you plenty of speed for the side line and make it more fun for everyone that's not so vertically inclined haha. You could even do the extensions out of dirt, which would look rad. Much love from Australia!
Liam Eltham, Bob Manchester or Matt Priest are the people you need to test these for BMX. True OG's of the trail game. A quick search of lightsinthewoods and cothill trails will cement this.
I just watched Scotty Cranmer's little brother Matt trying to operate a 26" in the skatepark and he was mystified by how stuff gets done, I bet he could kill that quarter,.you should send him some plane tickets and do an episode!
You have large jumps. Build something more trail-ish. Tighter more technical, speedy? Low trail if you have a down hill. Build a wood/dirt gap over the trail that is down in the valley.
Please use R.I.C.E. on your shoulder it will help! Put some sealer on that wood… 12:20 you should make a pump track with some straight rollers diagonal through the patch with two berms that break away into two different paths. The one right drops into quarter pipe and left could go down the new wooden sealed ramp you made jump the gap and make a right hip or berm on the hill next to the tree then make a jump on the front side of the landing to transfer into mainline. I can send you some drawings of some pump track ideas I dream to make. Love your content, And I really enjoy this series. Maybe one day I’ll get to meet you Casper the ghost, L.A. , C.A.
