tip from a local: if a restaurant offers both kebabs and pide and döner and dessert, you'll probably have a below-the-average experience. because traditionally these foods are cooked by people from different parts of turkey, so you normally can't have it all in one place. if you're looking for the real deal, you'll find the best pide in a pide restaurant, best kebabs in a kebab restaurant, best döner (no we don't call döner as a kebab) in a döner shop and best desserts in a dessert shop. take your time and do your research, there are really great places that locals go and they are not too far from tourist quarters. ok one more tip: don't drink apple tea, no one drinks apple tea in turkey except the vendors of the grand bazaar. it's just kinda processed powder.
Hey joel bossman, it is pronounced Peeday in turkish not (pied). since I am very familiar with turkish culture, i can help you with pronouciation from now on :)
What a performance!!😂🍦 Holy smokes! He was quick with the hands and arms I must admit but wow! Everything looked great! All the food looked amazing and not bad prices either , before the sweet shop haha. They must be made with gold I suppose?😅 Hope you guys stay well!😁
I thought not liking cheese was literally impossible for humans. Even lactose intolerant people will eat cheese despite getting sick after because it's soo good. It's why I also believe veganism is a mental disease, type of masochism in which people intentionally deny themselves one of life's greatest pleasures. Cheese and meat
@@godofchaoskhorne5043 well i am 33 .so its normal that i Met over 1000 people in my live .i work in a supermarked and out costumers talk alot too. So u Know Them after 1 month because they speak about their Food habbits. I never said i have 1000 friends. And i am not a guy
Damn... It hurt seeing 45 lira being 4.5 Euro ... I'm a European Turk. Remember studying in Istanbul for a student exchange program while lira was like 3 to 1 euro. Was worried then about the lira losing value. And now it's 10 to 1.
Guys you must know this. İt is not turkish pizza 😊 Pide is elder than pizza. The Real pizza is inspired by pide. So it's not turkish pizza. İt's pide.. Actually pizza is italian pide.. We can say this 😇🌸🌸
Is that your natural state, or are you pretending to look cute in the video?

Looks wonderful so far! do you mind giving us a rough run down on daily expenses (even just an estimate at the end of a day), and some about accommodation. sending love
My honest thoughts on turkish food when I went 2017. It's pretty mediocre in fact I am Far East asian. The spice and aroma is not hitting my taste bud. I felt Lebanese and Egyptian foods are the more real deal.
you can be sure what the candy shop owner did is just a scam. I can say as a Turk, today I mean after 9 months, the 1 kg of turkish delight around 400 TL around
Hello guys wish you enjoy your stay in turkiye, turkey sure has so much to places to visit and the food I say no more just so gorgeous and tasty,I'm not sure how long you guys are out there for but I definitely you travel to trabzon its north east of turkey so beautiful. I have family and friends all over turkey if at any time you may need help we will most happily help you. Good luck and have fun. + you have to try iskender kebab it's so amazing and tasty.
yes I am turkish and when English tourists visit they charge more because they are not turkish and the sweets are called lokum and when I go be Ayşe I’m Turkish they charge about 12£ for 1kg
Honestly the best meals we had in Istanbul were from among the daily lunch specials at places like Nivhan Restaurant in Sultanahmet. Just walk up to the counter and pick whatever looks good. Baklava and Turkish coffee at Hafiz Mustafa or Karakoy Gulluoglu is also a must!
Last store you entered (absolutely tourist trap) was kind of empty. My suggestion in such situations, check if locals go in. If it has lots of local people in it, it is unlikely to be tourist trap.
I would advise going to south eastern turkey the capital of turkish food especially Şanlıurfa .also the mountins of the Black Sea region are beautiful you won’t believe how green it is but go there early I think it might snow later on the year so that should be a priority trust me! TIP:Also be sure not to use Arab music in your videos turks get triggered by being called or defined arabs trust me im Turkish and even though I might not be nationalistic I still get triggered so imagine the patriotic people!
@@anouarzahraoui1149 no but people hate being confused as arabs here in turkey. Sorry if I offended you I didn’t mean racism but getting you’re culture confused is so triggering
@@bored__cloud Aah okay you're right I know Turkish people have an own culture. But remember that there is not one "Arab culture". That was the reason I felt offended, we Arabs are people that live across 2 continents and even with language we don't understand each other. So there is not just one "Arab music", our DNA connects us but we are not one country. The Arab world is very diverse
Gece yarısı expresi filmini yapan yöneten isimlere baktım bütün Türk düşmanı milletlerden kişiler yönetiyor,Türklere karşı büyük propaganda filmi.avrupa ,amerika önce kendi yaptıkları pisliklere baksınlar,Amerikalılar Türkiyeye hoş gelmemişler.
Great video but I never trust Turkish people, fair warning going forward, £3 for ice cream , seems a bit much but I guess you have paid for the performance. Take Emilia to Turin, amazing ice cream / Gelato. for less than €3 - Oh and that gets you 3 flavours on one cone !
@@sibelshinaishin5170 Just my personal experience. They were always lying to me, trying to sell me something I didn't want, trying to extract more money from me, being over friendly in exchange for something else, whenI thought they were just being friendly.and didn't expect anything in return..
a normal ice cream doesn't cost 3 pounds, but that one is "maraş dondurması" which is an icecream specific to kahramanmaraş city and it is made by pounding and includes goat milk etc. it is both for the special ice cream and performance, so yeah
