@@coinarcher 18 dollars for the most expensive bowl is not bad at all. Usually those icecream places that charge buy weight get you at like 30 dollars.
i was thinking like 30-40s since its kind of a fast food/snack place but i dont live in the USA so idk how much those things cost and also didn’t know you could eat some stuff in that bowl like, bee pollen? wao, but it looks great, only thing i’d take off is nutella
you only really expect it to be that crazy because just everything is stupid high nowadays, and I'm interested in finding out if her manager would also say $18?
@@jahqwelin I would implore you to look at how high a cup of almonds is in calories. Its around 800Cal / .8Kcal. The stuff you think is "healthy" actually isnt. They're super high in fat.
I thought it would be $40, I would happily pay $18 for that. The ingredients on their own are expensive and not worth it to buy if you don’t make a lot of açaí bowls. I make a lot of smoothie/açaí bowls and the açaí in my country is one of purest forms, not expensive and relatively easy to find. The other ingredients are fairly priced for what it is since I live in a third world country. The açaí bowls I’ve had in the states taste very good but the açaí itself tastes very “westernized” if you will. If you get to try pure açaí or as we like to call it podosiri in Suriname I would highly recommend it. Brazil also has some good açaí, it’s basically the same everywhere in the Caribbean/ South America.
You know? Last year I had to make a whole presentation about Suriname's independence and other data for History class, but this is the first time I find someone from Suriname, even in social media 😭😭
guys, I'm from Brazil (the biggest country that produces açaí) and um don't pronounce "a-ssA-i", the correct way is "a-ssa-Í" (if you don't believe me, watch the interview where Bruna Marquezine eats ger favorite brazilian foods, and see for yourself)
@lufax but since the word it's an indigenous name, we got to respect the way it's pronounced in it's source language. Just respect other cultures, man.
@@caiofonteneles9300 Nope. Você pronuncia Volkswagen e não Folkswagen. Each county adapts words to their pronunciation, não precisa cagar regra pra ninguém
Im mexican but i did exchange in Brazil, I would eat tons of açaí, but best ones only have condensed milk, powdered milk, and bananas 😂💕 Mds tô morrendo de saudades🇧🇷
Not even. Only in some parts of the country is it consumed with nutella, condensed milk and whatever, but in the north of the country it is consumed naturally without all that.
Do your research please, it's is actually from Brazil, the business is called OAKBERRY which is ACAI it's in different countries but from BRAZIL THE BERRY ONLY GROWS IN THE AMAZON,. WE ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING A OAKBERRY HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA, WE THE ONLY ONES HAVING THE RIGHTS TO SELL ACAI HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA. JUST GOOGLE OAKBERRY🤷🏽♀️
OMGGGG THAT LOOKS SO FRICKING DELICIOUSSSSS, THE WAY I WOULD SELL MY HEART JUST TO EAT THAT GODDAMNNDNMDNSNNN I LOVE NUTELLA AND LITERALLY EVERYTHING THAT WAS PUT IN THAT BOWL
Here in Brazil it's cheap, buying 1 liter of the best quality açaí for just 41 reais (8 dollars) this includes condensed milk, fruits, granola, peanuts, and other things...
Olha, pela quantidade de coisa que foi adicionada tá um preço razoável, agora barato não tá não (já que tá tudo caríssimo hoje em dia) - agora que vi que isso foi nos EUA 😭😭 jesus seria caríssimo aqui também pela conversão
Btw Ubatuba is a city in the northern litoral of the state of São Paulo in Brazil, it's actually the city with the biggest amount of beaches in the whole world.
18 USD$ is a lot of money in Brazil (where Ubatuba is located), that's around 90 BRL (90 reais) Edit: I've just been told that the store is not in Brazil. Sorry
$18 for their most expensive item makes me want to cry 😭😭😭 that’s like the minimum price for anything these days edit: i did not mean to make everyone so mad 😭 obviously I’m being a *little* sarcastic final edit: apparently i should’ve said “hyperbolic” not sarcastic 🙄big as$ baby in the replies 🤡🫵
@@annosayuVc tem q lembrar q o salário mínimo deles é de 1160 dólares mensais, fora que a média salarial de lá é muuito maior. Então nós temos q pensar q 18 dólares seriam 18 reais no Brasil, e daí vc percebe q é barato
If you want a traditional one do açaí with fresh fruit on top ( my favorites are pineapple and banana) and granola. I never in my life saw a Brazilian açaí bar with any toppings other than chopped fruits and granola. Keeping it simple also keeps it much healthier than Nutella and crap.
in Brazil the traditional and original way of eating açaí in the Amazon region (which is different from the way it is eaten in São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro) is with meat, mainly fried fish, I live in the Amazon and here putting sweets with açaí is almost a threat, this form is due to the people who lived on the banks of the rivers, they often only had the fish they had caught and an açaí plantation in the backyard, that was what they consumed. Edit: Please don't misunderstand, my intention wasn't to criticize how people eat it now. I simply wanted to highlight its origins, much like how we eat it here. My comment was meant to be informative, and perhaps to encourage people to explore more about the local culture or even consider visiting someday to experience the traditional way of consuming it.
If you like bee pollen, you should try what I like to call the biblical 'taste of paradise'; it's just a 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of bee pollen, a good little dollop of raw manuka honey, and a big swig of goat milk, chew the pollen and swish it around in your mouth, its delicious and will instantly transport your mind into the 'Land of Milk & Honey'.
No way, hahaha. Ubatuba is a costal city like 1h30 from where I live, I would never imagine that they would use it as a name for a açaí business in the US
@@lacto2178and? Everybody tries to learn english and write the words correctly, so what's the big deal about writing açaí? The whole world makes an effort , why can't they do the same?
all the comments saying “$18 isn’t that bad” 😭🤣 when the total ingredients in that bowl barely add up to $3! and you know the money isn’t going towards labor cost. it’s simply pure profit for these businesses.
as someone from Amazonas in Brazil, I feel just like an italian seeing someone putting ketchup on pizza, it just hurts🤣. But its also nice to see a successful brazilian business out there 🇧🇷
Wait chia seeds that haven’t been soaked in water can swell up and clog ur airways so I don’t recommend eating them raw without them being soaked in some kind of liquid
